Next to nothing in the build up, yet should have had at least 2 assists if not for piss poor finishing from his teammates
The guy can’t even control the ball. I love his endeavour but he’s so far below, what I think at least, should be the standard to be playing for this club.

Good game. I don't think he's worth spending the money on in the summer but he's been a vital purchase. Gives his all as well.
I think we’ll buy him if he costs us around 5m as a back up. He seems to have a good attitude and is well liked. He should never be a starter.

Glad he got his goal.

People again underestimating his ball winning ability. It's not just hard work people, he's a fantastic harrier.

Not starter material but I'm really glad to have him in the team and dressing room. He does what he's asked to do well and he gives it his all effort wise.

Also seems a real good character and his passion is great to watch, proper chuffed for him that he got his first goal at OT

Weird how he seems so popular with the players and before he arrived there were loads of stories about the Burnley players not liking him because he'd be sending them late night text messages telling them they were shit. Maybe they haven't let him into the WhatsApp group yet.

Nice to see all the joy and happiness for Wout tonight, sometimes football doesn’t have to be about relentless perfection it’s just about enjoyment!!
You gonna put that in the De Gea performance thread??

I've never heard that, is that a genuine rumour?

I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.
He is nowhere near good enough, we shouldn't sign him in the summer just because he loves playing for the club and gives his all. We are playing fantastic football under ETH and with a proper striker we would be unstoppable. We need to buy a fast clinical finisher in the summer and use youth, buy a young 18 year hot prospect as back up.

Lot of heart but he's levels below what we need. Sorry everyone, fact is he's the worst cf in front of goal we have had in decades. Running around and being this apparent 'pressing machine' is absolute BS. It's not personal, he seems a nice guy but fans are way over the top on this one.

So happy for him and it’s great to see that celebration.

I thought he was really good in the second half. Should have had an assist if Antony had finished that sitter.

He gives 100% every match and you can see how much this means to him, but he’s clearly some way short of the standards we should be aspiring to at United.

The way that people, including his teammates, are treating him like some sort of Make a Wish kid is frankly embarrassing.

Yep. This guy is not even a serviceable striker.

EtH isn't blind though - he works hard, and if that is what EtH needs right now to show the team what he expects from them, then fair enouh. But next season we need someone with an all-round game to take his spot.

His Bundesliga goal scoring record is pretty good actually, how the feck did he get that many goals over there with this kind of finishing

Ten hag has been pretty smart in the way he utilizes him.

I'm glad I am not the one making decision because I'd definitely buy him, even though I know he's nowhere near being good enough.

Delighted for him. Maybe this goal makes him more composed because the chances keep coming.

Yeah, agreed he's a stop-gap and we shouldn't (and won't be) considering signing him. From what I've seen ETH will want someone putting the work in up front though, so we're more likely to prioritise a better replacement for Wout rather than a pure striker.

He's probably only a tier above Bebe and Obertan when we're talking about crap United players of the past few decades

If he's just here for the end of the season I can put up with how bad he is because he gives everything and he seems a nice guy. I'm glad he has a goal at Old Trafford no matter what happens now.

We 100% should not be getting him in any kind of permanent deal though.

His run to celebrate after the goal is the fastest I’ve seen him move. Was like shit off a shovel.

Literally what I said earlier, it was like a make a wish kid getting to fulfill his dream of scoring a goal at Old Trafford. fecking embarrassing how it's treated

If you like?! Although a comment about Weghorst in there would be a bit weird.
Not really. It's comments like the one below that makes all the De Gea hate laughable. They want to get rid of a quality keeper but buy a shit striker when we desperately need goals. And all just for the vibes. You couldn't make this shit up.

I'm glad I am not the one making decision because I'd definitely buy him, even though I know he's nowhere near being good enough.

Delighted for him. Maybe this goal makes him more composed because the chances keep coming.

He is the perfect bench striker. Delighted to be here, popular with the players, works extremely hard, has scored goals at the top level, plays football for a top international side and is always available.

He obviously isn’t the number 9, but I want him as part of the group next season to give respite to whoever the actual 9 is.

We won’t be buying two top forwards and a fit Martial is a pipe dream. Even when he was fit, he wasn’t scoring either!

He's so bad but I can't help but love him. I both never want to see him play for us again and sort of want to see him play out every game this season because he's playing like his dreams came through and it's lovely. But yeah, so bad, so very bad.

**** hero, love his attitude, desire and passion. Works hard for the team, tries his best and gives everything. Unfortunately, that does not win titles and does not justify a starring berth at United. However, I am happy to have him here for now, would be happy if we signed him cheaply and if he was a genuine squad player. He makes a good option from the bench to play a more direct style if and when needed. Anything above 5m would be too much.

He is nowhere near good to the level we aspire to be at. Irritating almost all the times he tries for a goal. He seems more a guy who is at MU cause he won the lottery than a pro who has been chosen for his qualities.

Still, he manages to give 100% every games and to make us love him at a certain extent.

If ETH decides to sign him permanently, I will on board with that. We saw much more irritating players over SAF post years

Decent tonight but it's hard to forgive him for that abject display at Anfield.

He lacks quality but he offers a lot to the team, his harrying (?) wins us the ball so much directly/indirectly and also high on the pitch. Defenders, midfielders, goalkeepers have no time on the ball because of him. I wonder where he gets his stamina from.

Maybe that's why the quality also lacks on the ball, he must be knackered.

Not gonna lie. I sobbed a bit seeing how that goal meant so much for him.

Just a bit though. My heart is made of people I've killed in 'Nam.

Impossible not to like the guy.
Gives 100 percent every game and although he has severe limitations his effort does create chances for others.
I’d be surprised if he is here next year but it’s great to see someone try so hard and clearly love his experience of playing for the team.
Good on him!!

His effort is great and I'm glad he scored.

But another striker today probably bags a hat-trick.

We can't afford to be sentimental. Thank him for his efforts at the end of the season. And then bring in a proper center forward. If someone sanctioned his move as permanent, I'd be very worried.
