The pass that led to McTominay's goal is Sancho in a nutshell. If he has runners, he will play those cute little passes.

5 key passes today, too. Good game!
This is why I want him central as a false 9 playing the final ball in to the players around him.

I think it will happen eventually.

Thought he had another good performance and got a nice assist for McT.

Needs to keep this up.

Good 7.5/10 performance.

Hopefully he can have consistent 7/10 performances and then build up to the occasional 8/10.

A couple of good performances in a row. As others have said, give him runners around the box and that's where he'll really be in his element. Hopefully he can keep it up, especially as it looks likely Rashford will be out for at least a few games.

He’s got a great vision and composed in the final third, very capable of playing combination football that not many in our squad are able to except for Martial and Antony.
I keep seeing this statement made constantly but it’s a bit strange to say.
When he pulls them off, who is he doing it with? Maybe he just have to learn to trust the guys around him. Trust is also an ability, both in yourself and others.

Sancho has no future at United. I think we should cut lost, Garnacho will be XI once he is fit. There is no place for Sancho, he would excel in German or Italian or Spanish league but not EPL. If anyone offer 35 million, I would sell him immediately.
Garnacho plays and the first goal doesn't happen, who knows after that.

He's the only player who can pass and keep the ball inside the opposition box. That's such a valuable attribute to have.

We need him to wear the "big boys pants", take responsibility and replace Rashford's goal scoring

Sancho is better than Bruno at creating spaces and attempting killer short passes.
I would like to see us play in a 4-2-2-2 formation, with Case and Eriksen behind Bruno and Sancho.

Our entire attack has spent year after year being designed to be more about individual brilliance rather than teamplay and quick interplay. One thing that was extremely obvious last season and to a slightly lesser extent this season is that when Sancho gets the ball we won't have any other player near him to actually combine with. He's just completely isolated and expected to make something happen. An in form Rashford can make those situations work with his blinding pace, but Sancho relies more on having players to combine with. It doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all, but certainly not enough to really take advantage of Sancho's ability.

Martial has always been the one exception which is why our entire attack always seems to go up a couple of levels whenever he's been fit and in form. He brings everyone else into the game, and always had great interplay with Rashford and Pogba in particular (Bruno too if I remember correctly). If he actually manages to stay fit I think we'll see both Sancho and Antony benefiting massively (and Rashford might actually go up another level again).

Thought. He was neat and tidy against an Everton team that gave us loads of space. But if that’s what you get for €350000 a week my god were in trouble . Just not direct enough . Garnacho would have had a field day with space in behind an Everton high line.

That was an issue with buying the wrong player for your system. In a good counter attacking system forwards should be able to operate in isolation. It was really not about his teammates but the way we set out to play.
Certain approaches to games don’t suit him but as team, we will set out to play in various ways as per opposition and match situations. It’ll be up to him to work on the other side of his game because we will also have a City game somewhere. It’s generally after those the pitchforks will come out.

Imo he did well today. Not only for the assist but he was tracking back and helped Malacia a lot. Also looked more confident and fitter I think.

Much better than that fairly tragic showing against Brentford. But this is what he needs to do more consistently. It can't just be that he looks good when the opposition are truly shite and we have the most shots in a half of football all season. You'd hope he could stand out and produce some occasional magic when things are tougher. Hopefully that and a bit more directness can come between now and the end of the season as we will really need it depending on Rashford's injury.

I'm not a fan but Rashford central with Sancho left is so much better than any formation that includes Weghorst.

Best performance in a long time which is encouraging. He was tidy and retained possession well on Wednesday but today we saw a bit more threat from him and a key pass for our first goal. Hope to see him continue to improve over the next few weeks as he is going to be counted on.

That was a good performance. He was useful in the offensive build-up but was also tracking back with intent to help Malacia.
Deserves to be encouraged to keep this up, if his confidence picks up too he will be quite the player.

I'm not that delighted with his perfomance today. Way to many mistakes. My main problem from attacking point of view is that he don't have any tempo when he gets ball at his feet. It is just so slow, so static and there is non-existent direct play. As a winger, that is not good. I could argue that there is 10-15 Premier League teams having better wingers compared to Sancho. One thing he was better at today was his defensive duties.

Another good, solid performance there. Nothing spectacular, but i guess we're judging from a low bar here. Nevertheless, it's nice to see the guy string a couple of good performances together. At least he's evolved in games a bit more.

Finally started to show what he was about and others were making the runs for him to find the passes. Some of them were excellent and the speed of thought to see the pass. Like that one he set back for Bruno, I’m not even sure how he saw that he was there.
There was that cross for Antony that Marcus intercepted as well, flat and precise. That’s the kind of ball a proper forward would eat up.

It's the same praise Maguire got in the last 2 seasons for doing the bare minimum - and he was good? We're talking here about an 80m player yet he hides and doesn't even dribble past players let alone take risks.
Antony was bad but at least he tried to score and ran at the defenders.

He played well today. Use of the ball was excellent. He’s not giving fans what they want, which is dribbling past players, but he slotted into the machine perfectly. Moved well, used the ball well, with some excellent key passes. More to come from him, but we are seeing him grow into the team more and more.

Solly March of brighton is another one who is way better so direct . Also goals and assists as good as anybody.

He wasn't too bad against Brentford. Nothing amazing, but "fairly tragic"? Come on!
It's tragic in the sense there's an 80 million quid player there we have so much hope for, plus footage from his Dortmund years playing totally within himself and not really trying much, either through lack of confidence or ability or whatever it is at this stage. I like that less than a bad performance where lots of things are tried but it doesn't work.

Today was better but what we can't see is 2-3 performances to follow it up that revert to the same old baseline Sancho. There have been a few false dawns.

Looked very bright today. A good game. Nice assist picking out a pass through a congested defence.

he is a very good player in a possession based team.......very good around the box.....completely useless if u just sit back and expect to counter

Who is expecting to purely sit back and counter?

I think you should be able to operate in multiple ways at Man United. You can't just say you're only going to perform when we've got possession, or when a counter is on. That makes little sense with the way football is played at the top level. The manager will be looking for our attackers to make an impact across all phases of play, in and out of possession. Sancho has to work at a lot of areas but it's possible for him.
