They're probably waiting until after the FA Cup final so they have a chance of securing the end of their tenure with an extra trophy. They will be shameless enough to present all the silverware won despite their ownership as their own achievements.
More likely to be hustled out of the building by City's middle eastern owners while their players tear ours a new one:wenger:

Probably be something tonight. There’s usually been news on Fridays
By “news” you mean journalists making up a bunch of stuff or using ambiguous wording to imply they have updates in order to meet their Editor’s demand for articles for the weekend papers.

I'm leaning more towards the 'no news until June' theory.

Qatar, despite not having heard anything since submitting their third round bid two weeks before, this week submitted a significantly larger fourth bid out of the blue. While that kind of thing is still going on, the Glazers aren't very likely to call an end to the process.

Didn't say that. I'm just suggesting there will be some sort of update from the press tonight, true or not.

£20m a year for transfer could effectively allow us to bring additional signings worth £80- 100m this year .

Off course It would make huge difference .
You've a little bit of knowledge and run away with yourself.

The whole saga is completely depressing now.

I keep thinking about what people did in 1998. A few months before United's greatest triumph. What happened to out support?

If Murdoch had tried to buy United now instead of that year, we'd have people at OT waving Australian flags saying we need him to win the Champions League and that if he doesn't buy us, we'll be relegated to the National League. Imagine though, if he had bought us? Sure, we'd have a couple more titles but imagine being intrinsically linked with that man forever?

The number of fans willing to sell what remains of our soul for vague assumptions of future success makes me feel really ill.

Accepting that they're the lesser of two or three evils is fair (even if I don't see it like that) but actively cheering this people on to buy the club is just so grim.
Not really a good comparison

Personally I find the Qatar flag waving a bit weird but there is barely a couple of fans showing up with flags so too much focus on that.

But it's true that many matchgoers (I think the majority in fact) would welcome a Sheikh Jassim takeover
The reason for this is primarily because they are desperate to get rid of the Glazers - that is nothing like the situation in '98 or '05 when most fans were happy with the ownership structure and didn't want any change which is why they protested against Murdoch and then the Glazers

Also I don't agree at all with the whole 'sell our soul' stuff anyway - the soul of this club lives on in the history, fanbase etc regardless of the owner. Plus the current owners are hardly the bastions of the soul of Man United so I don't get the logic behind those selling out comments at all.

One minute we are criticising and excoriating the human rights records of what some see as fascistic states and the next we are quoting Morrissey songs.

I don't know why, but it just seems so wrong......

Quick question don’t know if anyone can answer this but if the new owner comes in and clears the debt would that make it possible, under FFP rules, to spend more money in the transfer window?
I think you have had partial answers to this question already, but yes. Finance costs (interest and charges but not capital repayments) are taken into account under the version of FFP we will be operating under. Either clearing the debt or shifting it off the club will free up funds for FFP purposes.

Ok cool, thanks. Need that monkey off our back sharpish then but I’m assuming not in time for this summer.

Then why has he moved to Monaco? Is it like supporting United while watching/trying to buy Chelsea?
Anglophile is signing players from EPL like Barkley, Schmechel and Ramsey, Brexit Jim which I have very little love for however I keep saying I don’t care whether Qatar or SJR win, I just want the Glazers to go at any cost and SJR will spend money, he has to.

The expectation with Nice was moderate at best, if he buys United the expectation will be huge and he will need to be up for the challenge because every loss, failure will magnified by 10 in the press.

They will probably win by offering ~£200-300 million more. Going up 500 million when they're essentially bidding against themselves would be daft as that increase would be reflected in how much they need to buy the remaining 31%.

Nice bought Anglophile players because Brailsford though that it was a good idea to hire Iain Moody (write his name + texts in google and you'll understand why) following the sacking of Fournier. The two came out with this rather incredible list of players and didn't bother to even consult the manager about them. The situation was so ridiculous that Favre publicly stated that he had no idea were Barkley plays and how old he was. Guess who came with SJR to OT? Yep cyclist man.

SJR biggest issue in football is that he somehow loves to be surrounded by incompetent people starting from his own brother. The guy keeps getting promoted despite tanking at every single club he was. He also seem to have a bias with people with a chequered reputation as well (Brailsford, Moody). Then he's got this idea that someone with a cyclist background is somehow a football genius. Only god knows why.

Yeah he’s a complete bluffer
Every member of the press covering this drawn protracted saga is a bluffer, no one knows what’s going on, if I was a betting man I think SJ will call their bluff with a £6bn offer and then threaten to walk away by the end of next weekend if they don’t sign the deal. The Glazers want to announce the takeover after FA Cup Final because their Cnuts simple!

I'm suggesting the media in this country protect rich Torys.
Papers like the Sun(Tory Turncoats) and Mirror will not protect SJR if united are losing 6-3 to city, 7-0 to Liverpool, 1-6 to spurs now that’s he’s worth £30 billion that’s three times Abrahamovic wealth, had no state ever bought a football team, United fans would be creaming in their pants at the thought of SJR, a united fan from childhood, local failworth lad made good, it really doesn’t matter who buys us out of the two bidders, it just matters that the Glazers leave asap.

Man Utd have a hell of a lot more income than Newcastle or City.
Not true if you mean club revenue, Man City we’re number 1 last year and United number 4 in World revenues. I accept that they may have inflated their true revenue but their revenue was over £620m and United £583m, Newcastle are well behind with maybe £220m which is why they have huge issues.

However Newcastle are not messing around stadium increase to 60.000 plus and Champions League football next season could push them to £400m for season 23/24. City win CL this season, then they qualify like Chelsea for the new Fifa World Club Trophy which will pay another £50-60m for each team.

Due to PL overseas rights kicking in this season you will see £25-35m uplift in TV money for all clubs. City could get from wining the treble this year a seriously ridiculous pot of money, wouldn’t surprise me Abu Dhabi inflate their number to £700m this season and United playing Europa League Football £550-575m, even Liverpool turned over more than us last year.

Add that to the £115m loss that the club made on last years accounts and the £40m to service the debt, you understand why the Glazers simply have to sell the club, United is finally getting left behind not just on the field but off the field too!
