In all honesty this whole thing is a lot more depressing then I thought it would be ousting the Glazers. All of the possible outcomes fill me with dread. I can't do much more of the Glazers, I'd hate us to be state owned and I don't want Glazer lite SJR running this club into obscurity either.
Completely agree with this weird cheerleading. I may be a pessimistic United fan but those on the "winning" side are going to be in for a rude awakening whoever wins.
Tbf, I don't ever think the club will ever run into obscurity. Even over the last 10 years, we've been more successful than most (in terms of trophies and finishes in the table.)
We should be doing more obviously but 99% of English clubs would do unspeakable things to have the decade (post Fergie) that we've just had.
Looking beyond the football, It's definitely worth exploring the wider ramifications of a Qatari state takeover. Especially in the current political and social climate. It just requires a bit more than screaming "But they'll buy loads of players" and "Western Governments are bad too."
The amount of land currently owned by Abu Dhabi is crazy. The whole "they'll invest in the local community" angle means nothing if people can't afford to live there. This is certainly worth a read

And another thing that people tend to ignore. What happens in 5/10/20 years time if relations go sour and Qatar find themselves as pariahs on the political scene? What happens when assets get stripped? Everyone was still happy with Russia as early as 2018 and look what happened there. Look at how dangerously close Chelsea were to falling into oblivion last season.
