You can’t just buy a club that isn’t up for sale. Same goes for Spurs. The journalism is so poor.

However, it’s probably to apply pressure to the Glazers to hurry up and sell.

I would think the only reason to hold off with the announcement is if the Glazers are still involved with the club going forward. They likely fear demonstrations and would rather hold off until the close season.
Makes me laugh this. Who's gonna do anything? A few full sale only banners in the TRA? A few nasty tweets maybe? I'm sure they're terrified.

These are the same people who sat on their hands for the best of 18 years doing nothing and labelled FC United fans and other boycotters "Judas".

Suddenly, the prospect of the club becoming a sport washing project makes them dream about new owners. Sigh.

There's only a week left anyway, but this should have been sorted by now so the new owners have time to get ready for next season

The thought that they are trying to avoid protests is interesting - have the Glazers really been bothered in the past about protests? They very rarely attend games and see very detached from the actual running of the club so do they even know when the fans are protesting?

The obvious one would be when the Liverpool game was cancelled, or maybe when sponsors have been targeted online, but the Glazers themselves haven’t been confronted, have they?

Chants at the rare games they attend sure, but I don’t remember hearing reports of them being confronted in Florida like Rooney or Woodward were here in the past?

But even if there isn’t much evidence that past protests have impacted the Glazers, I do see the thinking that they might want to avoid any protest this close to the end of the season, but I doubt the Glazers care at all since they themselves won’t be targeted, it’ll be the club and ultimately the protesters don’t want to harm it.

It’s going to be Jim getting control with those 2 staying on isn’t it. Announcing when the season ends so there won’t be much backlash.

Feels like every time we have a good season these fecks do something to bring the progress to a screeching halt the following summer.

Nothing to do with him??? Don't make me laugh.

You might want to check up on your Russian history. These Oligarchs are closer to Putin than you think or at least they were. I can only begin to imagine how much shady stuff has gone on between them over the years.

Abramovich himself essentially swooped in and stole wealth from another family who were in the oil game with the help of the state. I'm sure I read that years ago. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's not far from what actually happened.

Basically they are all sh1tbags and he had it coming.
No you are right. I also read as well he bought a gas field for $2 million and him and Putin sold it for $2 billion. As crooked as they come.

Typical 'sources close to the situation' providing vague, impossible to refute, speculation the serves no other purpose than giving the journalist a chance to claim inside knowledge without actually writing anything substantive.

My sources say that the Glazer family is nearing closer to a decision but are likely to delay an announcement until after the FA Cup final. Sources not at all close to the situation say they are keen to avoid distractions ahead of the Wembley clash.

..... it's that easy.

These piggybacking 'stories' are hilarious. Usually happens during transfer season when a reporter with feck all information jumps all over an existing story by writing 'person A is weighing up options with club B currently ahead of he decides to move' stories that say literally nothing but it makes a reporter look like he has inside info

A decision being made after the end of the season is pretty much what James Ducker reported earlier in the week.

Not an ounce of dignity or respect for the club in any of them. They know the club cant progress without a conclusion and they just don’t give 2 fecks.

This makes it sound as if they aren’t from the process itself by from those looking on?

Plus I’m struggling for a source here

Another day passes and no word of any preferred sale. Incompetence knows no bounds with the Glaziers. We will feel the effects of their ownership for the next decade and beyond. Truly astonishing that footballing authorities allowed these leeches to buy our club.

I'm hearing rumours that the majority of us are talking shite. I have nothing concrete therefore I won't post a source but that's the rumour I'm hearing.

Posters were told that Phil isn't buying those numerous nebulous reports, it's suspected that he may have more to say in the coming weeks.

If only the British government could confiscate the club from the Glazers, I'd be all for giving the government more power.

This is why the Glazers (or two of them) staying is a non-starter for me.

Even if Ratcliffe has the majority, they'll probably still want a stake and some kind of voice, even if not the final say.

Keeping the people that literally have brought the club to its knees should be a ln automatic non-starter for any United fan but apparently it's all good if Jimmy Brexit has control and the Glazer duo of cnuts get to stay.
