It'll likely lead to an embittered feeling whilst reminded, provoking a defensive response, usually predicated on whataboutery. You see this from city supporters all the time. We can see similar reports from the pro-Qatari posters on here, too.

Hope United can avoid this horror.

'Moral superiority' beats hollow trophies every time.
Exactly, whenever someone says it's been a rough 10 years I don't understand why. I look back fondly to those years and all that delicious moral superiority who cares City won 7 premier leagues in that period and we've won none.

Got me in the first half. I cannot be dealing with these delusional people. And these would be the same people whining at Just Stop Oil protestors and missing the hypocrisy.

It's like we're running a church and not a sport team here.

Didn’t you know the Old Trafford museum is full of moral superiority trophies? We’ve won the quadruple twice on those.

Im all for the club to be sold (although id prefer not toQatar). But you make it sound like we just got relegated, it’s been a good season. Dramatically better than last season. We have a cup, we got cl football to look forward to and have a good manager. It’s not all bad. Things could be a hell of a lot worse.
It was a reaction to the stuff going on in this thread rather than the result. It would be nice if Ten Hag could have a settled ship ASAP.

I laugh at them because they're not serious people

Well, not cope that it's hollow. But fans of clubs like City otherwise reliant either upon happening upon once-in-generation manager or unearned money (or perhaps the latter buying the former in addition to doping, financially and otherwise their way to success), rather than club-building SAF -or Shankly for Pool tbf - will tell themselves any story to justify it, to the point where any critique is seen as simple jealousy. They'll internalize their excuses right to the core. The club could be run by literal child slavers and 75% of the fan base would find a way to overlook or equivocate around it....
SAF's club building was helped in big part by being one of the biggest spenders in the pl.

I’m just sick of it at this point.
I no longer care if they stay in some capacity. Just give control to someone that will invest in all facets of the club.

It’s important to City fans but the football world doesn’t take them seriously. It’s not clear that often because the media dances around it but the reaction to Citys charges said it all.
It’s all hollow and will be taken away from them when the time comes

We're running a sport club though, are we? The main objective of the last 10 years has been the Glazer family well-being and comfort and ensuring even 10 generations down the line, they won't be lacking for anything.

Yet keeping these cnuts in place is A-OK because a Boomer Brexiteer will apparently have control.

You don't feel it now because "recent" success for city began just over 10 years ago. Their fan base it's growing, kids choose their teams based on playing style and titles not on moral balance.

Anyone thinking City won't ultimately become the biggest team in the country if things don't change is in denial. They play amazing football, win most of the titles and they're not slowing down.

People criticized us because we spent more money that anyone else and said that's why we won so much. At the end of the day winners are winners the ball doesn't get stained.

I don’t see any proof at all that it’s growing. There aren’t enough neutral fans left that has their kids grow up to be City fans to any great degree.
I can’t think of one fanbase that’s obviously grown over the last 20/30 years in world football.
All of Spain hates them, all of Germany too while the league they play in is the most watched in the world so a lot of fans are fans of their rivals.
It’s soulless. Oil money is known worldwide as the devil in football and it’s hard to look past.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I've seen plenty of kids wearing City's shirt here in the US. Their fan base is definitely growing.

Doesn’t matter. We can’t have them at Utd anymore, attached like fecking ticks, gleefully draining the goodness out of the club.

They need to go, properly go. And the club needs proper owners who will heal it and allow it to thrive again.

No weird ‘investment takeovers’ where they remain, no halfway, dithering sales that’ll ‘see them gradually go over a few years’.

Just a normal, proper, full sale as any other fecking owner would do. Even Mike Ashley could manage that ffs.

They need to go. Completely.
Amen….this……100% this!!!! no one wants these shithouses at the club, just feck off already vile pricks

I remember people saying the same about PSG to be fair and that’s gone quiet.
Last year City were tenth

I do t really know what amount of success is needed to raise them more than that. A few trebles in the bounce maybe?
I’d argue going against City and being the so called good guys raised the club they’re up against rather than City themselves . Look at Liverpool

Jurrien Timber was at Wembley today in attendance for Man United vs Man City FA Cup final.
After the bullshit he pulled last summer, he's just Mason Mount in defence.

Both shouldn't be near to United if we want to go into games like today feeling we're at least on equal footing

Look, I understand.

Human rights are less important to you than your favourite football team having more trophies.

If you envy city and their operation so much, join them.

Your words show otherwise

No shame in it, none of us like losing to them cnuts.
I just know that Abramovich's Chelsea, Qatar's PSG, the Saudis' Newcastle and Abu Dhabi's Man. City are a cancer to football and they stand for most of the things that are wrong with it.

I won't ever be saddened or angered by City's success. I'm only angered by how the United fanbase has reacted to the Qatari takeover news. We are probably the best suited club in the world to match and overcome these scummy clubs (even long-term), but instead you just want to become like them. Congratulations.

Ok. Season is over. Can they now (next week) sell the club finally?
I think we’re a good 2-3 weeks away from INEOS being named as preferred bidder and then plenty more back and forth until takeover is finalised.
