City have got so much pressure on them. I mean 99% of the population have said they’re gonna win and batter Inter tonight. So what happens if they don’t? Is it classed as a failure… I mean they’ve won the 2 best trophy’s in England but they set the standard so high that they’re expected to win every single game and trophy. Out of the 2 they’ve won this is the one they want the most.

FFS! Decided to take on a gig tonight to avoid the game but now the venue where I'm DJing has decided to show the game before I start so now I'm gonna have to watch them cheating blue bastards lift the cup.

City to win 4-1 or something like that. Unfortunately games against United was probably very useful for them to get some playing time back after having few weeks rest (key players were mostly rested vs Brentford and Brighton I think).

I take it your Liverpool fan mate has no faith in his own team doing The Treble in the future then?
Evidently not.

To be honest though, looking at the evidence of Liverpool's near miss on the quadruple last year, and City this year (and a few other City seasons) it's probably only a matter of time before someone else does it. Hopefully not tonight though.

It must be pretty funny that regardless of what happens tonight Forest still have more European cups/Champions Leagues than City :D

Be funnier after tonight if it remains 2-0 on that score even with all their billions.
It was a long time ago - we don’t like to mention it

As an Inter fan .... it is a little sad to see a club as glorious as Man United going behind City. As much as money has always seemingly ruled football, it used to be a lot better when presidents came from a team's same country, or at least from somewhere close by.

At this moment in time, albeit Inter and Man United also have presidents from far away, there is no club that symbolizes money aggressively purchasing football like Man City.
Let us not forget that whilst money always had a big impact in football, we still want to believe in the romantic magic that has always characterized this sport and in the soul that there is behind every team ... and that is stronger than any capital and goes beyond the financial power of whoever purchases a club.
We still want to believe that however rich a president may be, it is the fans that truly own a club, and it is their passion that defines the club, and not the money of the owners, who will always come and go.

Inter will probably leave Istanbul defeated, and City will celebrate their first Champions League victory.
But never stop believing that football will always be something more!

WIth that being said, go Inter!

“Won’t even watch it.” ….yeah right of course you won’t ;)
I only watched 2 of the last 5 CL finals, both Madrid v Liverpool games. Couldn’t be bothered to watch City v Chelsea or Liverpool v Spurs, and I could not watch Bayern v PSG due to travel. Definitely won’t watch this one unless it’s like 2-0 to Inter with 20 minutes to go.

You've had a great season so far. Hoping you win it (with a Lukaku hat trick)!

Would have thought Lukaku might have started. That's a pretty tough, physical midfield from Inter though isn't it? Hopefully with Walker out they can get some joy down the flanks too.

Congratulations 2023 treble winners, Man City, I guess.

Only question is whether to watch it or not.

No surprises from Inter's team selection.

City... Ake starting in place of Walker. Either Walker is not fit, or Inter lack wing pace to trouble City. Plus Ake is left footed and Akanji is right footed so that aids City in the buildup. Otherwise no changes.

Interested in seeing whether Inter's 3 at the back stifles Haaland and City's buildup through the middle. Also, can Martinez win long kicks from Ọnana against Dias and Ake?

The longer this remains scoreless, the more Inter have a chance. Don't do what we did and concede in the first minute...

Ake move wasn't so bad afterall, expected him to be forgotten about at City but he seems to have done alright.

I remember the night when Celtic beat Inter in 1967. Nobody gave Celtic a chance against the mighty Inter who were packed with stars. Now it's changed and Inter are underdogs to Manchester City, a thing unthinkable just 20 years ago. Inter has a glorious history and it is that history and pedigree that's pitted against a state-owned monolith of a club that can field two teams of high-class players; all bought and paid for by questionable means. History vs the lottery winners. Go out and take the pot back to Milan.

I’d of started Lukaku for this one. No pace at all in that team up front. Relying on set pieces maybe?

You'll need someone to hold on to long balls from Ọnana. That's not Lukaku's strength.

Maybe later in the game they can bring him on to pose a different threat to City's back line

I’m actually surprised it’s taken the egg stained Berts this long to be able to celebrate a CL win. We had a good run of them being knocked out by shite, fecking up a final and witnessing one of the best VAR moments v’s Spurs. But here we are, the inevitable. Let’s just hope we can put a dent in their trophy count over the next few years.

Last chance to sing ‘Have you ever won the treble?’ to yourself :(

I've put 3 massive bets on City. Haven't had much luck on bets this season. I'm willing to sacrifice £2k a bet, to see City not winning the treble!
