Yeah depressingly true
We don’t need to , more fake news by the media, we just need to sell players who never cost us any monetary value for a net profit like ; S Mctominay(25m), D Henderson (25m) , A Elanga (10m), B Williams (7.5m), E Laird (2.5m) that’s £70m say even if we get £60m, all this is accrued as net transfer profit and we can basically take £15m aside to pay for agent and signing on fees and then amortise the other £45m by 5 (the normal length of a contract) giving us £220m on top of the £120m but some of that accrued income must be set aside for player wages too.

A Simple explanation is last summer we had the same budget of £120m because of FFP we sold two homegrown Players ;
James Garner (13m) and Andreas Perreira (12m)

That £25m was multiplied by 5 giving us another £125m which is why we spent £220m last summer same principle applies this year with the additional caveat that all our spending including debt restructure and financials must be within 90% of club turnover .

The main reason we are doing nothing right now in transfer window, we’re skint and are waiting for PL legacy payments from broadcasting. The Ownership takeover is just an excuse because the Glazers have run the club into the ground, soon as we pay the credit line off we will move in the transfer market.

He's definitely worth more than 35M euros, so I can see why that was rejected at first. 80m is beyond silly.

Watch him end up at Juve for 40m euros or something, after they price us out.

Yeah, 2 year loan + option to buy for 35 million, paid in 10 years.

Any opinion on him by now in the game ?
Yeah not really been in it, to be fair Denmark have barely tried to find him, made some good runs and some decent touches but otherwise nadda. Rather than having him hold up they have him playing on the last line but everytime he goes to make a run Denmark haven't bothered trying to find hgim

N.Ireland is the worst example of antifootball I have seen in many years. But they sure have Højlund under control

They are brutal. Negative, regressive and backward just like some of their political parties!

Probably should have scored, he's been better second half at least

Not impressed, the guy who's playing as a 2nd striker has been better.

This game explains why he hasn't been a guaranteed starter for Atalanta.

Has had two half chances so far in second half - it’s not those you should score on but a Van Persie type would just nail them.

Im not sure he’s a clinical goalscorer. He’s definitely not an 80m forward. Great in many areas though and young. But not sure we’ll get a lot of goals out of him.

Good lay off and looked to spin Evans before being pancaked by him, thought he'd done his shoulder in there, quite lucky!

Pretty much an aversge performance, nothing terrible but nothing to write home about either. Not gonna judge him from one match of course but hasn’t done Atalanta any favours in negotiations

No X-Factor.

But as a Dane I am never impressed with Danish footballers unless they are named Laudrup.

Like I said before, seems very unsure in possession. Like Lukaku/Nunez. We need someone better technically.

Obviously nowhere near ready

Very good prospect that may well become a top player but we need goals this team can't carry a striker needing this much development

Should carry on getting regular minutes in Serie A whilst he develops.

Whilst you may be right, it was just 1 match - and unless we hurry up we're running out of good affordable options already if you can believe it :(

Not saying he's the answer, but I don't think anybody should be coming to a conclusion either way based on one game

The reported price is the price quoted for a guarantee of world class potential. We may as well wait a year or two to see if he reaches it and probably pay a similar price to the quotes we’re receiving now

I think he’ll sign, cost about 55M, fairly modest wage….and prove to be a hit, purely by being a healthy striker.

Really, if you’re a young striker it’s a great time to come to United, you’ll look amazing vs what we’ve had up front recently, and even if you’re a bit shit you’ll be healthier than Martial

Hold on….you think Atalanta will want the same price for a better player than what he currently is?? That’s mental.
