Not so sure why people think he will be eased in. I mean if you're talking about literally the first few games so yeah maybe he starts on the bench for 2-3 games Max but even that's debatable. ETH has shown he has no problem throwing players in straight away. Antony started VS Arsenal 2 days after signing, and he is in a similar situation to Hojlund in terms of being young and coming from a different league. Last season Hojlund started 20 times in serie A, yeah the PL is a tougher league but in terms of readiness there isn't a big difference. If you are a regular starter in Serie A you can be a regular starter in the PL as well.

He kid barely turned 20 a few months ago. Can you imagine the level of excitement* he must be feeling now? It must be unreal. All the years of sacrifice and hard work to now land up the club of your dreams.

* The anxiety will kick in later the night before he makes his debut.
Hes apparently very confident in his ability and nothing phases him according to people that have worked with him

For those who've seen a lot of him, was he a regular starter for Atalanta?

Signed for 20m last summer after half a season at Sturm Graz who took him from Copenhagen. Was a sub before the new year and only 2 starts i think, just the 1 goal. After the world Cup/new year, 22 starts for club and country with 5 sub appearances, 15 goals.

So he's shown a tremendously quick rise from 2021 being in Copenhagen, having a step up to the Austrian league and getting a 1 in 2 appearances goal ratio in his half season, to then joining Atalanta where he took half a season to adapt and then showed a very high level again.

Has any players ever failed a medical?

Especially a big purchase like EPL level?
I think Almunia due to a heart condition that was picked up during the medical after he left Watford.

Other than that it's not happened really it's why big clubs leave players out of squads with impending transfers, injury would be the main culprit

He only played because of an injury to another player afaik

Broke down with an injury just before the move. Medical didn't take place that year.
He did fail the medical. Was on his way to OT to do the press conference etc and got a phone call to say he was going to fail it. Was told to go back to PSV and continue training and he collapsed and did the ligaments in his first session.

He is flying at 43,000 ft altitude, unusually high for passenger flights.

another job gone to a foreigner. this country is producing record numbers of strikers; junior doctors, teachers, rail workers, postal workers, and yet here we are, bringing in a scandinavian.
brilliant.

I think that was the full story

20 league goals would be a remarkable season. Almost zero chance he gets anything like that. 10-12 league goals is the most we could hope for imo and even that would be a pretty decent return considering his record to this point and his age. Bruno's never scored over 10 non-penalty goals, even in that 18-goal season because 9 of them were penalties. Not realistic to expect much more than the 8 goals he got last season. Bruno creates our chances, the other attackers are the ones who should be scoring.
which "other" attackers. I'm not sure we have any real ones. If you mean the likes of Antony, very few wide players get large number of goals - Beckham and Giggs were "freaks" in that way: it's why I've been saying we should have been pushing Levy to see how much he wanted for Kane (especially now given that he's been ordered to sell him)
