I don't get why he is not taking on more defenders one on one.

Anyway for me he was better than Rashford or Antony.

Too raw just like many of us said last season. He's an instinctive volume dribbler with shoddy decision making/final ball.

Better than last week, which was somewhat pleasing to see but that was bottom of the barrel stuff. I'm not trying to be harsh on a young kid because he has loads of potential but we really need to temper our expectations. He's got big flaws and yet people think he's the next Ronaldo when he's not close.

Not ready with the current state of the team to be a regular starter. Already have too many erratic decision makers in the front 6. One of he and Antony needs to sit.

The pass Onana made to him and he couldn’t pick out Rashford with a square pass was infuriating. Just didn’t look up and just crossed and hoped for the best

We're not in a position right now where we can afford to be carrying players who aren't contributing. In an ideal world, we would have far more quality in the front/attacking positions, thus allowing Garnacho to gain from their experience and act as rotation with these players.

However, we have the following players in the forward roles:

Rashford - played out of position as a CF.
Antony - out of form, not contributing, generally playing somewhere between poorly and average.
Sancho - coming off the back of two underwhelming/very poor seasons.
Martial - utterly fecking useless, statistically played 51 out of 114 games in the league for us over the last 3 years, which is less than half.
Højlund - injured, unproven, never actually played a game of United.
Voldemort - too busy making a mess of his private life, may not ever play for the club again
Pellistri - young, unproven, actually in a similar boat to Garnacho before last season.

Therefore, we're far more reliant on Garnacho than we should be, because the overall quality of the squad is poor. This also has an added effect as it means he's got less to learn from, and he's got less to work with on the pitch. He can't rely on Antony on the other side of the pitch, he can't rely on Rashford as he's already out of position, so it's actually quite detrimental to his long-term development. The notion that he's just going to get better naturally with more game time is heavily flawed. He's only going to get better if we help his development by playing higher quality, attacking football with better players all around him.

Been our problem for years and every single one of our attackers is guilty of it numerous times per game. We must have the least intelligence throughout our squad in the entire league.

was piss poor 2 games in a row, how we wasted rashford potential goals for him is beyond me.

I thought he started reasonably well, setting up Antony for a shot that was off-target and then having a shot from an angle saved. Decent shot blocked by an arm of a Spurs player but close enough to their body for it not to be a penalty. Gave the ball away cheaply on occasion. Better than against Wolves but still not great.
there was a time when he received great pass from Onana he had all the time in the world to pass the ball into 1 of 3 players in spurs pen box yet he seemed hesitate (probably wanted to take a shot himself), then when he made a pass it was intercepted. kid is not ready to be our regular starter at this point. i blame eth for picking him.

I’m pleased he got another chance but it’s clear that he’s not ready yet to be starting games. He’ll come back

Second season syndrome. Happens to all young players after a sharp debut season - Rashford, Martial, MG had the same.

How he makes it out the other end will determine his future. I'm not too worried.

Was better today than the Wolves game but mostly by default as everything he did in that game didn't work. But he's struggling a bit. Hopefully it's just the inconsistency of a young player and he's not believing his own press.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen him pass the ball. Constantly just gets into the box and smashes it into a defender.

Reality check for those saying he was already better than all of our wide attackers bar Rashy.

We don't - it seems that way because you desperately want our team to win, and so every mistake is magnified. You suddenly notice other teams are at times much worse when you need them to get a result against a rival.

Continously made poor decisions. Rashford has to be back left next match.

Growing pains + second season...he isn't the surprise package any more, so he is going to come up short in a few games.

But it will only make him better in the long run.

He did ok mostly today but a second of lazy and/or unawareness of danger is one of the reasons we conceded the first goal today.
It’s a lesson to learn.

I don’t blame him for that, its the winger not the fullback. Shaw should have taken responsibility there

Electric in preseason but seems scared to take a man on in the actual season.

Yes, he was awful, but still our most lively attacker today. He also looked visibly disappointed in himself when he came off, which is more than I can say for our primadonna in the striker position

Should not be starting. Still simply a promising young player who may or may not make it. Best for everyone if he comes on as an impact sub and can run at tired legs.

Had so much space in first half and just kept making the wrong choice. Def think he needs a breather next game and to come on as a sub.

Rashford would have had a field day against the Spurs fullbacks given how aggressive they were. Kept saying it pre-match over and over but everyone wanted him upfront to exploit the space. Sancho false 9 + Rashford LW or Martial CF was the call today.

Was obvious at Wolves he shouldn't starting way too selfish its like hes channeling Ronaldo without the ability to be effective. Like straight up having him and Antony on the wings is half of our problems, although at least he has the excuse of being a teenager.

Yep, Rashford on the left with Sancho as false 9 has to tried whilst waiting for Hojlund to come into the team. At least Sancho can take a touch and try linking things together a bit.

Has a poor start this season, which is disappointing as he seems to have good preseasons. Looks like he is not good enough to start games for us yet, he should remain as impact sub for now.

His passing is shocking, completed 9 passes out of 16 in 65 minutes. Every pass also seems to be badly weighted, see his passes to Shaw when he overlapped.

Sancho should start not because he's great but at least he can find his teammates with his passing.
