Does this expenditure point to any direction in which a possible takeover may occur or not?

The Muppetier says it is a Glazer window and points to them scummers staying as it does not take from next years budget, by using the credit line.

The negativity around this club is horrendous.
As much as we want to search for crumbs of a hint, the reality is that it will be business as usual until an agreement on a sale is reached (if that happens). There is not much to read into with the transfers imo.

What caught my attention more was seeing the decision made on "M.G." after numerous reporters previously suggested that decision would be left to the new ownership, if a sale were to take place.

It’s been nonsense all summer. It was reported there would be movement when the squad got back from the US then after the MG situation got sorted. Now it’s after the transfer window closes.

The goalpost moving has really been something. Hilariously, there seems to be an inverse correlation between frequency of stories published and the credibility of their reporting for the various outlets and journos that have been "on top" of this saga.

I said a couple of pages back, that Mike Keegan does not seem to be at the forefront anymore?

He has recently said that discussions are "ongoing" and that Raine are "trying to bridge the valuation."

Romano has suggested that discussions are being kept quiet because the situation is so delicate and the bidder (I am assuming SJ) does not want risk anything breaking down.

At this point, I almost wish we crash and burn this season, so these morons have their greed backfire on them.

Sadly even if their asking price was halved or more they'd still make a fortune of it.
Yeah, but knowing the cnuts, it'll eat them from the inside that they Spurs'd up the sale and didn't sell at the top.

Glazers are going to sell. Its a Glazer summer and they have been tight as a frogs ass. Honestly if ETH gets top 4 with this team then he is a miracle worker. This squad is built to flounder and reach nothing but middle tier. No way this squad gets Champions League football this coming season. Glazers are taking money and running.
That’s exactly how I see it with the caveat that if we do finally get bought in October/November we will have a January transfer window and all the FFP bs will miraculously disappear. The new owner s will instantly invest £1bn with £750m paying off the credit card £160m and the rest of the loan leveraged against the club.

So suddenly we might be looking at a whole new shopping window come January 1st 2024 and then again we might be mid table and looking at getting Weghorst back on loan ?

Hope that ends being the case. We need reinforcements after a “so so” window.

They'll sell. 99% certain they will, because they simply cant afford this giant asset. Its a matter of when and who to. And the "who to" worries me far more than the "when" to be honest.

There’s nothing to suggest that the Qatar / Ineos deals are dead. These things take lots of time. Some of you seem to think it’s no different to a transfer.

The loan deals etc are an indication to me that they’re selling for sure.

I am hoping that the symbolises they do not want to use the credit card so it does not get subtracted of the credit card debt that the new owner will have to pay.

Or we've just run out of transfer budget as we're hamstrung of years of overpaying and underselling.
Don’t buy it for a second and I’m surprised anyone does tbh. You can make the books say what you want them to say if you’re motivated.

It's been widely reported even before the summer transfer window began that we're restricted by FFP, unless we sell well, which we haven't.

That suits the club very nicely doesn’t it? A club with ambition would make it happen.

If they were dead they would of said so I think, the fact that nothing has been said suggests to me things are very slowly moving along.

Really hope that's the case because without a sale we look in financial ruin right now. I could just about stomach only looking at loans these last 48 hours of window if it ultimately leads to them finally going after 18 years

You only have to look at the Amrabat loan offer to see that it could be happening before the next window.
What was the offer we made again? £1m now and maybe another £1m for the second half of the season depending on whether we want to continue the loan.
Almost like there will be someone else calling the shots in January…….

Yeah, in the very early days of the Qatari bid, it was clear Keegan got some exclusive info directly from their camp. He was useful to them as a voice to declare their intentions of bidding, sharing their vision for the club, and creating a reputation for Jassim. It seems he hasn't got much of a clue about the actual negotiations.

I have a feeling for mid September that something will be either leaked or publically announced. When I say that I think Reuters or Bloomberg writing something.

I can hear Neville sharpening his knife already. I can see him going fecking mad this weekend if tomorrow’s deadline is a disaster and we get battered by Arsenal.

In hindsight campaigns against the Glazers would have been more impactful if the leading them didn't think "We're broke" was their trump card. Even this summer where we were whipped up into an FFP frenzy. The Glazer's have always benefited from the apathy created by the fact the "no money" argument has for fifteen years, proven false. It has been by far the weakest, easily and routinely disproven aspect of the anti Glazer campaigns yet bizarrely seems the one the campaigns leaders are most wedded to. Even today.

Yet the lessons are never learnt as no matter how long they remain in charge of the club "no money" will be the number one rallying cry and everyone will pretend to be shocked when a lot of fans disengage from it.

Not saying any campaigns would have been successful but blatantly lying to the people you rely on for support with the "We're broke" argument as these campaigns constantly have done, has been a horrendous tactic over the years.

Issue with Glazers has always been tremendous finanical and structural mismanagement. We've been as "broke" as Jim Davison is "woke ". That's why for many years fans had a huge apathy on the issue and fans groups shoulder responsibility for that.

It was massively easy to counter. Just sign someone

"Oh i know we said we had no money before but... now they've spent £60m they really have no money now. What? Another player? Okay... so we were mistaken before they did have some money but now.... Broke our transfer record? feck sake. Lads were broke!"

Hopefully this is the Glazers last F**k Y*u to the fans and their sale concludes quickly after the window closes.

The Glazers are similar to concrete cancer, initially not noticeable on the surface but over time eating away at the foundation of the structure until it either collapses or requires substantial rebuilding. No prizes for guessing where the once biggest club in the world are now, they planted the initial piece of cancer (Woodward) , then allowed it to spread without treatment .
They won’t even allow minor surgery which involves swallowing some cash a la Maguire transfer, and the club continues to suffer.
They are absolutely awful owners, prepared let the club suffer like a shopping mall that needs updating, until they sell and disappear back into their bolt hole laughing at fact they siphoned all the cash flow and someone else has to undertake the renovation.

This is actually insane. They have pretty much run out of all options financially.
They’re going to sell, you can’t run an elite club like this forever. It’s just not financially viable. Especially when you have about £1.5bn you need to spend on infrastructure.

If this is all ready to go, this gets announced next week after the window closes and during the international break. NYSE is closed on Monday, perfect day for it.

After this diabolical summer, it has to happen. All the momentum why have last year and we have not properly reinforced over the summer like rivals…. We can only hope that the club will have a new owners in time to make an impactful January window and start planning and making deals for next summer.

They've consistently used the club as a personal revenue stream for many years, but they've leveraged the club to a place where that gravy train is over. In the end, their own greedy interests will win out and they'll finish this...it's their nature.

Take this as you will, for my sins I was listening to Goldbridge who does have some…….decent sources, and he was talking to someone close to the club who said this. The club are deliberately waiting until tomorrow to do the Amrabat deal because they know Fiorentina want him out and he wants to come to united only. And that the Glazers don’t care about the fans as they can’t be touched, they have weathered far greater than this. I Haven’t been to OT since those lizards bought the club, I only buy snide shirts and I dont give them a single penny of my money. ALL fans now need to unite and boycott games until they have gone, empty stadiums week in week out, tell the sponsors that no united fan will do business with them until they have gone. These vile shithouses have made a laughing stock of the club that I love and grew up watching the likes of Best, Charlton, Law, Robson etc.
