Based on what?
I think everyone will be disappointed if he doesn’t even reach Jesus’ level

Spent his time at City as a backup and he’s hardly set the world on fire at Arsenal he seems to pick up too many injuries

Gabriel Jesus really isn't all that. I expect Højlund to become a better player than him. There probably isn't much between them as it is.
Exactly. He can’t even get on his national team ahead of Richarlison! By the way, Hojlund is technically excellent.

Whilst yes there is hyperbole on the "better than Jesus" side, there is also the other half of Caf saying he is shit, and will be back in a lower league this time next year based off about 100 minutes of game time this season.

100%. Only people that think Jesus is world class or that Hojlund won’t become better is Arsenal fans.

Pretty silly comment, the players were compared with some saying Hojlund is already as good, so its not of course, as some posters disagree with you.

Whether he will become better or not remains to be seen, hopefully, he does.
Jesus is a far better player today. Its not even a debate. Hopefully Hojlund can reach and surpass his level that would be great.
I’m trying to wrap my head around how the same poster can write these three lines just minutes apart.

Because some posters (who I was referring to there) did not agree with my view (which is Jesus is obviously better)
OP later clarified they were not making the comment in direct response to my post or view

And it wouldn’t be the first time we would be disappointed.

There is no point trying to be definitive about anything at this stage. Due to the limited sample, both with us and previously in his career, there is equal chance he ends up a top player than him failing to IMO. He has some interesting tools. But I also don’t see him as a traditional ‘wonderkid’ so to speak, his career so far hasn’t been one where his reputation/potential has always been known.

I also think he has benefited from Erling Haaland personally, and the way trends go with forward players. I don’t see him as a player we would have been after a few years ago - certainly not at the price we paid. Haaland himself would not have been a target for the very top clubs had his goalscoring record not been so ridiculous. As it is, I think he’s put a certain profile back in fashion, which is a risk as he is an anomaly himself, and I think is only ‘tolerated’ by top teams due to his output.

It was interesting this summer reading opinions on Hojlund and Kolo Muani, for instance, and I kept reading how RKM was not the right profile for us. Can’t help but think that is based on Haaland, because not long ago, I think the conversation would have been reversed and Hojlund would have not been considered the right profile for a top team, due to a lack of ‘all round game’ with RKM considered a more ‘modern striker’. Few weeks before that, half the caf seemed to want us to go out and find Roberto Firmino again.

I think there are a fair few questions personally, so right now I’m just happy to sit and watch in hope and form my opinion with time, but I am more cautious than some with my early position.

It’s just Arsenal fans bringing him as a bench mark. Apparently he’s levels above Hojlund.
He's like top 10 in the Prem in terms of minutes per (open) goal contribution ever, that's a decent benchmark.

If my bluffmaker’s guide to French is correct, H is silent at the beginning of words in french. Ø is nonexistent, so how would you pronounce ‘Jlund’ in French?
Well we can't use french rules for a foreign word. A french would try to pronounce it like a danish or not pronounce it at all.

Martial’s was even better than Jesus. Says everything you need to know about that stat.

That it's fairly accurate? Because a fit Martial was better than Jesus by some distance.
