Nothing to write home about. A few decent touches here and there.

It was a typical game for Denmark these days. On paper we're better than everyone in the group and everyone we're playing are very happy to sit back and try to counter most of the time. And we're not that good at unlocking defences. Our strikers often end up getting crowded out in or around the box and service into the box isn't that good most of the time. So often a frustrating time. It doesn't help that Hjulmand often seems to have clear favourites.
Fair enough it happens to young players sometimes. Out of interest how highly do you rate Hojlund?

I think he's got some really interesting attributes and especially his desire to improve as seen from his very quick rise. I also think this move to United was very early in his career and I thought it would be better for him to play another season in Serie A.

That said we don't exactly have a lot of strikers to pick from so it looks like he'll get a lot of games. I'm excited to see how he takes to playing in the premier league for a big club. I thought his cameo against Arsenal was encouraging.

Unfortunately these are the type of games he'll often face, particularly at home. It won't always be counter attacking here.

He is a bit like Haaland, isn't he. His technically weaknesses will be overrun by brute force and smartness. And luck.

I don't get why a few people on here are so offended by what I said. I said he's a good player but won't be a world class player. I didn't call him rubbish.

I bet I've seen him more than the majority on here. He's first touch is average and he has average movement.

His finishing is also very erratic.

Jesus is clearly levels above Hojlund at the minute and I doubt Hojlund will ever reach his level.

Hojlund is the same level as someone like Broja(Currently)

But we'll have way better players than Denmark, it won't be all on him

Not exactly William Wallace or Delia Smith --- but our Ramus was reported to have yelled (via a megaphone) to the crowd, following the win over the Finns:

"I heard you all, and your passion is everything in football. We are going to the f**king Euros! F**king come on."

That’s the sort of passion we need.

Likes of Martial, Rashford just walk about giving up.

Don't get the posters here that are saying he doesn't have much technical ability. He looks very good technically.

Well...he isn't. He isn't Kane and he isn't Haaland. However, he's a talent and he can still contribute for us and has much growth for improvement. I think he can become a big player for us.
He scored a hat-trick the last time he started a game for Denmark. Of course he’s highly rated.

Danish media you say? Anyone specific in mind?
Ehm...No he is very highly rated by most Danish fans and the Danish media.
I’m swedish and watched the game yesterday on danish tv. They talked about him like someone who still got things to prove. Of course his highly rated, that was a bad use of words. I meant that they don’t rate him highly enough to be a regular starter in the National side. Yet.

We had the same situation with Alexander Isak a couple of years ago. Now his the “highest rated” striker who proven himself both in Premier League and on the national side and will always start if fit.

Sorry for using the wrong expression. English is my second language, sometimes words get wrong.

You are not exactly right. If fit he will be like 4-5 th first player in the lineup. Danish experts are like, Hojlund will definitely be up top, Hjulmand (coach) was like “I said he was ready to start, but I knew the whole time he would only get a half. So every scenario in my head, I would rather put him in if we needed the goal than take him off at halftime”. So Rasmus Is a highly rated footballer in the national team and in Denmark.

besides that, him and Jesus are different players. Jesus more technically and Hojlund with more strength, speed and power. I would choose Hojlund every day.

I doubt anyone, including you, is really in a position to say what level he is in the PL right now, still less what his ceiling is. There's just not enough information. What looks for certain is he's progressed extremely fast over the last year. Maybe that'll continue, maybe it won't. We'll find out.

Love this! Very different to the docile forwards we have at the club. Will definitely bring some much needed intensity to our team and club. Come on Rasmus!

I would be exceptionally surprised if Ramsus does not become a striker who scores once every 2 and a half matches. That's some level not to hit.

His movement is his biggest strength. He is excellent at losing defenders and finding the right spaces.

Jesus is better at the first touch but not at finishing and movement in the box and I am willing to bet that Højlund will become a more clinical striker than Jesus.

Gabriel Jesus really isn't all that. I expect Højlund to become a better player than him. There probably isn't much between them as it is.

I think they are both good strikers, but Højlund has the potential to become more.
Jesus is a far better player today. Its not even a debate. Hopefully Hojlund can reach and surpass his level that would be great.

Hojlund will become better than Jesus, Jesus ain’t even a proper goalscorer, he’s never scored over 15 goals in the league since coming to the prem and he’s 26. Hojlund is 20… let’s not write him off yet. One of Hojlund strengths is his movement. If you’d seen some of his goals for Atalanta then you’ll know he gets in the right place at the right time.

Comparing a 26 year old to a 20 year old… of course Jesus is currently better but Hojlund will become better.

Pretty silly comment, the players were compared with some saying Hojlund is already as good, so its not of course, as some posters disagree with you.

Whether he will become better or not remains to be seen, hopefully, he does.

Ye I’m not saying you was the one that started the debate but I can’t see how you can compare a 20 year old to a 26 year old and one who’s had like 5 years in the prem already. I’ve a good feeling about Hojlund though…

It amuses me how much opinions of a players worth are controlled by the surrounding narrative.

Rashford scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists last season, and half the caf thinks he's rubbish, or it was 'a purple patch' (one hell of a 'patch', that ).
Hojlund came on a sub and touched the ball twice or something and he's already better than Gabriel Jesus apparently.

On here you're either AMAZING! or A CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYER!

Why does everything have to be so hyperbolic all the time?

Just ignore which team has what and if player x is better than player y.

Hojlund only needs to offer more than Weg, Martial, 40 year Ronaldo and the the team has improved.

At 20 he is a baby and it will be 6 years until he is anywhere near his prime.

I hope we get to watch him and Garnacho for many years to come!

Yeah it's so silly. People can't be bothered with nuance and it's incredibly off-putting.

Why is Gabriel Jesus being used as a benchmark for other players? He's absolute dog-shit.
