It's funny how thirsty United fans are for a competent striker that we instantly get all touch compilations for a cameo vs San Marino. Hojlund's gonna get an insane level of attention on every touch he makes for about half a season here.

Eriksen actually scored very late in the game I think
He did, random goal from a cross, that sailed in, but it all counts:-) and made two assists. It was against, San Marino, so dont put to much into it, but the first assist was absolutely beautiful, had a Michael Laudrup wibe to it, and here in Denmark, that is more or less the highest praise you can get;-) In regards to Højlund, he came on in the second half and got about 35 min, he had some good moments, but Denmark had switched off, and didnt try very hard, so you can hardly judge him or his form by that, but, he got some minuts in his legs... thats a good thing. Judging from what our national coach said after the game, Højlund is still not ready for 90 min against Finland but he will be played.

I reckon we’d get the same for any new signings who either hasn’t played for us yet or barely played for us. I’m hoping to see an Amrabat comp soon!

What I really liked watching him for his cameo last night is that he perpetual motion. Constantly making mini runs looking for space. Haven’t had anyone like that since Cavani.

I saw him a lot last season. He is nowhere near as some on here are making out.

Good player but he won't ever be world class.
He will become a more clinical striker than Jesus...

Not starting again.

Arguably a bad thing. Could do with more minutes to be ready to start against Brighton.

We can't start Martial in that match

It makes sense from Hjulmand to start Jonas Wind. He's fit to play the whole game if needed and has started the season with five goals and two assists in four games for Wolfsburg and scored and assisted the other day too, so he's in good form. I'm still hoping Højlund will get 45 minutes although I doubt Hjulmand will change at halftime if we're doing well.

According to Danish media Hojlund is not that highly rated. He’s not a top Premier League striker - more of a talent in their eyes. Wonderful that we put the pressure of him leading our offensive.

Agreed. Højlund will pass Wind in the pecking order eventually.

Let me guess he's injured, such is our luck at present.

Yeah let's get the source. I'd like to read it.

Ehm...No he is very highly rated by most Danish fans and the Danish media.

Danish media you say? Anyone specific in mind?
There was a Danish dude who came on Stretford paddock saying the same thing and this was before we made a bid for him.

But he also caveated that he surprised everyone with the jump he made at Atalanta and there is no reason he can't make a bigger jump again.

Who in their right mind is saying that he is a top PL striker?

He's played about 10 minutes.

How did he do?
Nothing to write home about. A few decent touches here and there.

It was a typical game for Denmark these days. On paper we're better than everyone in the group and everyone we're playing are very happy to sit back and try to counter most of the time. And we're not that good at unlocking defences. Our strikers often end up getting crowded out in or around the box and service into the box isn't that good most of the time. So often a frustrating time. It doesn't help that Hjulmand often seems to have clear favourites.
