Happy it wasn't Qatar. But also optimistic that things are moving in the right direction. I find the negativity baffling, tbh.
Not too sure a petrochemical planet polluting geriatric enabling our tormentors is the better option either.

Open mind as to what? How much of that purchase price will go back to the club? What’s 1.5b (let’s say the Glazers won’t take a penny of it and plough the same back into investment), is that even enough given the state of our facilities, stadium, playing staff which clearly needs upgrading. This was nothing but a money grabbing move from the Glazers and it’s a shrewd one at that. We as a fan base is simply pathetic (and I count myself in that category). We would never do an Ajax style uprising or stop going to matches.

The Qataris were reportedly going to wipe the debt, reinvest and pour money into the community.

So keep an open mind as to what? I ask again.
Pathetic fanbase sums it up well

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Nope, everything you've stated is not objectively true. But I get it, it's an emotive topic and not getting your blank cheque probably hurts so I understand the reaction. But not everybody that prefers Jim over Jassim (Qatar) is gullible, xenophobic or an idiot. Just like not everybody that wants Jassim is a fairweather fan only interested in the club's success and who it can bring in ;)

And for what it's worth, of course I think Jassim is a real guy. Imo there's no question of that. I just think he's the figurehead for a state sponsored bid aimed at repurposing United as a soulless sportswashing vehicle.
Behaving in a sanctimonious manner doesn’t elevate yourself over others - it actually lowers your standing in an exchange.

How can things move in the right direction if the Glazers are still here? That's the main point why people are being in an outrage.
This is the biggest step towards the glazers ceding control that we've yet seen. Rumours are that this move is with an eye on a full takeover further down the line. Plus it keeps us out of state hands. How is this NOT good news?!

An open mind as to what Ratcliffe's plans are for the club. Who's to say he won't put money in? The rumours are that the endgame is for a full takeover. If you'd rather be miserable then that's your prerogative but the truth is this is the biggest step towards the glazers ceding control that we've yet seen. Many are blinded to this because they didn't get their sugar daddy but that doesn't make it untrue.

Unfortunately United can fill OT three times over if not more, so match going fans won’t give up their seats because if they do, someone else will just go in their place. OT will never be empty and that’s the only way it talks to these owners, through their pockets. Unless the entire fanbase collectively boycotted spending money on the club nothing will work and that won’t happen. That’s how we’re In this mess really, it’s a cash cow for them. A money making vehicle.

so jimmy boy wants to buy it in chunks? We’re going to wait years for him to own it outright or be a majority owner, meaning we have years more of this BS. He needs to read the room. Nightmare. Who knows, Maybe he’ll surprise us? :(

Qatar have a great environmental record too, don't they?! It's funny how many of our fanbase have all of a sudden become selective Planeteers.

Well that’s probably us being confirmed to stay a mid table clubs for the foreseeable future. So it makes sense we kept players like Maguire and McTominay.

Don’t be so sure, Croads.

What we’re gonna see now will be unprecedented.

The Glazers and Ratcliffe have misread the fanbase and aren’t gonna be ready for what’s coming.

This will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
So what are the fans gonna do at City game,Sheffield Utd will be watered down because only gonna be around 2,000 Utd fans there. Home fans will be having a bloody good laugh like everyone else about the situation. Greedy feckers have finally finished us off for good. Wouldn't blame Erik for walking away at some point.

The way I see, one party was desperate to own the club that they tried multiple options to start the take over process while the other party was rigid and fed the media with soundbytes to appease the fan.

Media reporting how much SJ would have spent improving infrastructure, i mean how does that help their case to buy from glazers, it looked more to appease fans. First thing to achieve any of that is to be flexible to own the club, or spend shit loads to buy it outright. They didn't do both.

Not sure how this will play long-term, I hope SJR is not an idiot to spend 1.5 billion for 25% without guaranteed to take over the club in the near future and sporting say immediately. He is paying the premium price, so I hope at least his team worked out the details.

Will it though? What’s the fanbase going to do? More protests ? They don’t care. They probably sit and laugh at them. Ha ha look at these peasants in their man United shirts at 100 quid a pop. People leaving the stadium early or entering late after paying for a ticket totally defeats the object. People standing outside chanting has 0 baring on them. Maybe they could add some flares for impact? I bet the whole family are quaking in their Florida mansions. The only one that had any remote impact was the Liverpool game that was cancelled but it just got rescheduled to a full stadium again. So not really. Honestly what are the fans going to do? I can’t wait to see it. Probably not a lot other than some half arsed protests, let’s be totally real. Or maybe another one of these groups will write another open letter? Really show them they mean business.

Oh he's definitely an idiot for spending 1.5bn for a pathetic 25%,he doesn't even get any say whatsoever with that. Same old slow process with transfers being signed off by that leech Joel. Doesn't even get on to his lack of clarity over debt and stadium/training facilities investment

Jimmy boy as you call him doesn't have a choice, he can only dance to the tune the glazers play.

Had Jassim come at this with flexibility and options he'd have got further... Ratcliffe is doing whatever he can to get his foot in the door.

The Glazers simply put are too split so the option of a full sale imo was never an option, the only way was the way we're heading.

Split because they are greedy feckers and we are the ones paying the price not them

we mean well. We really do. But can you imagine Real Madrid fans if this was going on? Look at Ajax after one bad start to the season, it’s literally anarchy in the streets. Our love and loyalty for this club is becoming our downfall. We hold a pride in being not like other clubs. Through thick and thin. It’s a lovely sentiment but it’s fecking us. Royally.

my genuine prediction a few years back was that city will over take us on the trophy front sooner than you’d think and it’s happening. Didn’t fergie famously say not in my lifetime? They’re now building a trophy cabinet for their stadium tour. Let that sink in.

it wasn’t even about Qatar, it was about the glazers fecking off and getting owners with real ambition and the wallet to back it. I just can’t see SJR having anything near enough to offer except being another one of them. He really isn’t reading the room with this one.

I really don’t know how some are finding positives with any outcome that still leaves The Glazers involved with the club. Nothing will change drastically at all with a minority ownership with Ratcliffe.

We are already miles behind City but we are never catching them if this happens, and we will continue to fall below the rest of the current big six. It’s been such a rough decade with terrible footballing decisions along with the most tumescent football I have seen the club play, it’s impossible to find any positives surrounding this club right now.

Are supporters of the Ratcliffe 25% closet Brexiteers so happy for this anemic deal? From a non UK perspective the whole deal looks very uninspiring and poor all things aside.

He had zero intention of being flexible and admire him for that stance, was all about full control and nothing less. Fully expect him to go and stick it to us with Spurs/scousers

You literally don't know any of this. Let's see what the terms of the deal are and then make a judgement.

Sorry but the Old Trafford crowd are some of the most tame you’ll see from any of the big European clubs.

They will have another pre match protest before going to their seats. There’s a reason a club like Madrid have never steeped as low as United have and that’s because their fanbase is unforgivingly brutal and that’s exactly what’s needed at United right now.

Let's face it, there is one thing super rich clubs like Newcastle and Chelsea have in common.

Success.
Newcastle successful  . 1927 last league title, 1955 last fa cup, zero European success, haven’t even had a charity while for 114 years. What are you smoking?

No truer has ever been said about this fanbase
