Scored, gave away a penalty then did quite literally nothing else.

Increasingly I think the club made a huge mistake not continuing McTominay's development as a striker. He's big, tall, strong, good in the box and bad everywhere else.
He’s not remotely good enough to be a striker for a club with supposedly tittle ambitions. Really don’t see why we have to try and crowbar this guy into the side. He’s just not good enough simple as that.

Does anyone have a link to a website that shows detailed player performances, such as how many passes / shots a player had per game?

Apart from his goal, I don’t remember seeing him
That sums up our central midfield at least for the first half. Nothing going on then he popped up with the goal. Then the handball. And then our central midfield providing nothing again till half time. Changed when Eriksen came on later on

Poor performance, apart from the goal which was very well taken. But to be fair to him, entire team was a bit shit in the first half

Was in the centre of attention again, again for the wrong reasons. Putting him in midfield makes no sense. That being said, I think, nobody looks good right now and that is connected to whatever plan we have or try to execute.

His goal was genuinely world class, controlling that terrible pass and firing the ball into the corner.

Unfortunately he undid that good work with a silly handball for the penalty, and was completely anonymous otherwise.

Great in the opposition penalty box. Horrific absolutely everywhere else.

Whichever coach decided he should move from being a striker to a midfielder in the youth teams needs sacking. Not a midfielder in a million years.

He debunked that myth. He was always a mid, but played a couple of games up top in an injury crisis.

Groundhog Day when the ghost man starts, the midfield is none existent.

McTominay has been in good form for Scotland, and thankful for the goals last week, but as demonstrated for years now, he has absolutely no business starting games for this club. Ten Hag is doing himself no favours making these kind of decisions starting him.

Imagine being a midfielder with the least amount of touches on the pitch, of either side. How could you not be embarrassed? Standing there while your midfield partner makes 4x as many touches.

Providing he’s putting the ball in the back of the net he has to start. Genuinely play him as the 10

I mean those kind of stats have happened a few times this season, it seems impossible to believe there's a person in the world that doesn't acknowledge this as a problem for a midfielder. Happy he's scoring goals though; he's just one behind our top scorer Casemiro

12 touches in 52 minutes. Good goal all the same but we can't control games with that output anywhere let alone midfield

We are genuinely awful with him in that role as an actual football side. Only time he should play there is when we are looking for a goal and already controlling the game.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, he is a desperate measure and nothing more.

It should be rather obvious that if we want to play ETH ball, he cannot be playing as an attacking midfielder.

Then again who knows what ETH ball is.

We need goals, he scores goals in every match he plays. He is a horrible midfielder, but again - we need goals. There must be a solution that involves giving him some minutes without destroying our midfield, at least in hands of a talented manager, at least until our forwards start scoring

He is very useful coming on as a 10 or whatever late in the games. Playing him in a no 10 from the start is a weird thing to do in general.

Bring him off the bench to rescue matches like we did with Chicha. Except not up top. He should not start as a midfielder. Him only having so few touches, makes it more difficult for his teammates to shine.

He's not a fecking midfielder! If he wasn't a striker in the youth teams then that makes the club look even more stupid. Midfield is probably his worst possible position on the pitch. I'd argue he is more suited to every single other outfield position in terms of his attributes.

I get that he had to start given casemiro is out and he won the brentford game, but he's not a player that should be starting or getting big minutes in midfield. He's ok to bring on when we are chasing a game and we need someone in and around the box that can score a goal. Completely invisible bar the goal he scored and the goal he gave away. which is a weird thing to say.

Better finisher than any of our forwards. That was Gerd Muller type of goal.
