If SJR forces ETH to take Sancho back, he might aswell sack him. I don’t get how anybody could think that would work.

Any news regarding Murtough, or his job going to be decided by the next CEO?

I'm sure we'll still make our share of expensive tin-eared signings in the future, but hopefully some gems among them. Not everyone gets it right 100% of the time.

So in other words no hope of any possible route to full ownership then
Imo, that shit about "full sale in 5 years" was just a spin from both sides to calm down fans. And it worked perfectly. Minority ownership was last what fans wanted. Even for strong anti Qatar fans it was least favorite option.

And look what happened? No protests, no moaning, no talking about that issue. Because "Sir Jim will be an owner in a few years".

You're projecting now. We all knew Antony was a cnut from the day he refused to train with Ajax in order to force a move. We just hoped we could become our cnut.
Projecting what exactly? You've given zero reasons. Throwing words around like cnut without giving any back up does make your post come across as angry whether you like it or not.

He's not the worst signing we've ever made. He's not even the worst signing of the past few years. It was a silly post I responded to before you jumped in calling him a cnut.

Are you sure about that?

There is an issue from my point of view but wasn't our fault Jassim walked away, therefore I am doing the only thing I can and that's support the other offer but with reservations.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

While I was somewhat doubtful about the minority ownership being the first step towards full ownership, the strong reports of Ratcliffe putting significant amounts of money into the club and also the fact that it appears we're about to make wholesale changes throughout the hierarchy (especially since we're starting at the CEO) does significantly increase the chances of it being true.

Weird how Antony gets this kind of talk but Sancho who was signed for £9m less but is on way higher wages, has barely busted a gut in his entire Utd career, fallen out with the manager and chucked 6 months of his career in the bin is not seen in that way.
I guess because Sancho has shown world class form before, so the higher transfer fee was more justified.

Mental? Stupid? Deranged? What kind of bloke walks away from millions when all he has to do is fall out with the new owner?
You assume that everyone is like you - not everyone is motivated by money

I've no idea where the SJR forcing Sancho on Ten Hag has come from, but surely he'd just refuse to bring him back and carry on. If SJR didn't like it he'd sack him, why on earth would he walk away?

When has a manager walked? Genuine question.
Plenty have walked because of shite results etc, not sure there's many examples in this scenario

TBH I couldn't imagine SAF would have stayed if he'd been told by the Glazer's to play a player he didn't want playing and the same applies to the likes of Pep and the mad German

Buying 25% of some company is nothing new and it is investment on its own. Him spending extra money is just investing (and protecting) his new asset.

To be clear; i am not saying that full sale will not happen. It can happen. I am just saying that Jim buying 25% is not a sign that he will go for the rest. Imo, being minority owner of Man Utd is a good business investment. Also, with fresh money in club there is big chance that club's value will go up. So, if Jim couldn't meet Glazers's price now, it will be even harder in future.

I'm pretty sure EtH would quit on the spot if that happened
Managers resigning is not a thing for a decade now. Especially in big clubs. Nobody walks from biggest job in their life and from at least 10 million euros. Remember Solskjaer?

Not necessarily, this is where put/call options come into play.

Jim isn’t a thick man and would likely have agreements in place with the Glazers of a top and bottom value acceptable to both parties where he would buyout the rest.

He isn’t going to price himself out if he wants it.

I feel Ratcliffes age will have a big bearing on this. Hes not in it for the long term, so it depends what hes after.
If he wants full ownerhip, he has to get a move on, so there must be something in the contracts drawn up.
If however he just wants to say at least I got my wish of having an hand running the club, it could end up with the Glazers stopping long term.

Arnold leaving, eh?

Well. We will always have the memory of him buying a round for a bunch of [insert whatever adjective you think is appropriate] United fans down his local.

I mean, that was a great moment in our history.

Other than that one unquestionably grand moment, I do struggle to find other instances worth mentioning in a eulogy (of sorts). Perhaps his open letter regarding the Greenwood situation. Granted, the letter was shit and likely AI generated, but it was something he did while in office.

Also, he wore jeans a lot (at least on a couple of occasions that we know of).

The sum total of these achievements (buying rounds, likely using AI to generate a shit open letter, wearing jeans) means that he was better than Woodward.

So, thanks. Nicely done. Wish him all the best in his future endeavours, I'm sure if they have anything to do with buying beer for random twats or wearing jeans, he'll do just fine.
