You know this how?
You know they're a legit source how?

I know you claim you're not connected to Muppetiers but it's really difficult to think otherwise at this point.

I mean, come on - Muppetiers. They're called Muppetiers.

Mate I’m from England, I have absolutely no affiliation to the Muppetiers

It goes back to the idea of 'best in class'. Mitchell isn't that. This is a job much higher than his record to date warrants. It's not the equivalent of Txiki going from Barcelona to City. Its a clear step up rather than a sideways move. However, the pros are he is a recognised face on the circuit and he has a degree of credibility our current staff don't have. Agents won't necessarily see him as a soft touch or someone who doesn't know the market. Plus he'll come with ideas instead of defaulting to/hiding behind the head coach.
Who is the current available best in class? Edwards?

Considering the Qatari bid publicly expressed commitment to bringing the club back to where it was, no chance they wanted to keep Arnold on. This guy is a spoofer.
They're not the only ones who have hinted at it. It was discussed on the Athletic podcast that the Qatari's got on better with Arnold and co than INEOS did. It doesn't mean Arnold would've been safe long term but I think if Qatar had won the bidding war he wouldn't be stepping down days before the takeover is announced.

He wasn’t admitting he was wrong back then though? It’s the same spiel.
Same as Goldbridge. A lot of fans don’t know that there’s a video out there of him admitting he used fake twitter accounts trying to become a fake ITK.
The grifters just get better at it. It takes years and years to build up contacts like this but he does it within 2/3?
It’s not plausible in any way but people can believe what they want I suppose
There is no set time on how and when you can build up contacts. I imagine in this day and age it takes significantly less time or effort than it used to.

Best in class isn't a thing. Txiki wasn't "best in class" when he got the job at Barcelona, nor was Edwards or nearly all other examples. Clubs get good DOFs either because it's an internal promotion of someone that fitted well with the club or it's pure luck because clubs seldomly manage to consecutively appoint competent outsiders even when they have a great resume.

You realise that Fergie worked under the Glazers too?
Fergie and Gill ran the club. The best thing the glazers did when they took over was have little to no input in any capacity in the football end of things.

As soon as Ferguson left that all changed. It’s well documented from ex managers aswell as respected journalists.

2013 to now is a Glazers run man United.

In that way I’m a bit worried that whoever comes in may succumb to the pressure of such a high profile role. Mitchell for all his success has never been in such a position. Hopefully it all works out though obviously.

I hope whatever other changes about to happen to be made as quick as possible. A lot of people around the club must be shitting themselves at the moment, even ETH must be worried about his job.

I don't really see this distinction between players that suit the club Vs players that suit the coach.

Paul Mitchell is an experienced Sporting Director. He will recruit players and a coach that can work together to realise a vision of football that he has.

IF it's the case that INEOS has decided to persevere with Ten Hag, Mitchell's recruitment will reflect that e.g., e's not going to start looking for De Jong types and end up with Casemiro.
They will give him a chance I’m sure of that however his days of demanding players like Antony for £82m are over, you can buy players that suit the physicality and intensity of the EPL is what I meant by suiting the club, not appeasing the coach by looking to recruit only players who played in Eredevise.

Analysing the current state of the Dutch league means that the club will not be specifically recruiting from that league unless a true superstar emerges.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
Are people really celebrating the Glazers sacking the one board member who opposed any deal that would only enrich the Glazers, setup the first fans advisory board, dialogue with the TRA for Old Trafford atmosphere, setup a footballing committee to oversee changes which included Sir Alex in an attempt to fix the Woodward mess that ultimately gave us Ten Hag and our first trophy in 6 years and a top 3 finish with another final. Are we really celebrating the Glazers sacking a man that actually wanted the best for the club which in the end was at odds with the Glazers grand plan to continue to abuse the club and to use it as a cash cow? Arnold made some mistakes but this man was a man for the fans and he was against the Glazers and pushed back against their MO and greed to instead focus on what's best for the club long term.

Arnold would have been sacked irrespective of who the new owners are because new owners want their own CEO's but this man voted against Glazer greed and talked to the fans. This sacking is further proof that the Glazers are sticking around long term and he was evidently against that. The man should have some respect from us for taking that stance.
How so? Surprised we're not singing his name in the stands if this were true.

It’s untenable because Arnold was obviously leaking the Qatar stuff to Murtough and Fletcher and that’s where Rio took his punt which proved to be untrue. The interim is simply a place setter, the end is now in site and Sir Jim will be controlling the sports side. The rumour in the press is that £245m will be broken into two parts.

Media now leaking that to circumnavigate FSP/FFP that up-to £90m will be paid into alleviate FFP and give ETH sone kind of transfer kitty in January plus the remaining £160m used for infrastructure and carrington improvements.

We just need to hear his words and see how quickly he intends to act on playing staff, DOF, medical department, Etc.
I thought the word is that none of that initial investment will be for transfers and 100% for improving infrastructure?

Plus I swear he has admitted he posted self confessed bullshit for most of the muppetier nonsense but promised it’s really reliable now. Honest.
I’ll see if I can find it

Edit he’s basically slim lined his ability to bullshit better

You’re welcome to scroll through my twitter and watch as we go from posting totally wrong info in 2020 to gradually more and more correct through today. I happily stand by that journey of being completely wrong about everything at the start of all this.
He did post on here, I remember his username but can't remember much of what was said. Think there were a few of these ITK's at the time....GoldTrafford was another iirc?

Regarding the bolded part. Is that actually what he said? Laughable if so. Sounds like he realised something that was originally a bit of fun could actually make money, so he decided to try to rescue it and try to put a bit more thought into it. The early rumours were laughably wrong. Practically just saying what the fans wanted to hear. I do half wonder if he gets most of his info from RedCafe.

They were 'running' it enough to demand that Ronaldo money largely went to servicing the debt they'd personally incurred rather than substantially reinvesting the club's own money and instead covering the outstanding debt (again, borrowing for their ownership rather than that the club had incurred investing in facilities or buying players) themselves across the siblings, as well as limiting our ability to rebuild the midfield under final days of SAF. It was only when they didn't have a virtual miracle worker that they started to allow more of the club's own revenue to go onto (by then, less well judged) player purchases...

Yes men being replaced by new yes men, as long as Joel Glazer holds sway nothing changes fundamentally, I mean the owner of Manchester United cannot even bring himself to post a tribute to arguably its greatest ever player in the last few days, their indifference and disrespect to the club is absolutely staggering.

I see what you mean.

Yeah, it'll be like Txiki and Doku. The Sporting Director will make a judgement on who suits the coach, on the understanding that the coach suits the idea of how Manchester United wants to play.

Infrastructure investment can include paying money into the club, investing which is what the Glazers have never done allows INEOS to circumnavigate a lot of the FFP/FSP issues of the club without actually injecting a further £100-200m of cash to buy players. Most players are purchased over terms anyway.

FSP states you can spend 90% of your revenue so last years revenues £648m on wages, net transfers from January 1st to December 31st in a fiscal year.

The Club didn’t really spend anything this January and probably have a bit to spend due to selling £45m of homegrown players in the summer, however their spend in January will also be based on next years reduced rate of 80%, so players sales are essential and reducing the wage bill also critical.

The new FSP is going to make clubs change their high wage to turnover policy and quickly

Let’s be clear here Antony is the worst recruit ever by the club and this must never happen again!

Maybe he really did care about the club and knew the only real way to get rid of the Glazers was the full sale to Qatar.
He cared for himself, his job.

was reported that Jassim will keep the status quo and give people a chance to prove themselves whereas Ratcliffe was giving a damning review of the way the club was run, was that Keveh guy on SSN ages ago.

Is there a single DOF that has managed to replicate what they did at their former club, at their new club?

People keep talking about hiring the best people but DOF’s seem to be unable to replicate what they have previously achieved.

If you think Antony is the worst recruit ever by the club then you haven't been watching United for very long

Weird how Antony gets this kind of talk but Sancho who was signed for £9m less but is on way higher wages, has barely busted a gut in his entire Utd career, fallen out with the manager and chucked 6 months of his career in the bin is not seen in that way.

Likely because it is not down to one individual but a team that functions like a well oiled machine where every piece compliments the other. And you obviously have to have owners who have some sort of a sporting ambition.

I doubt it is that difficult though to get in top people. If they are given clear roles, vested with real authority, and a playing style and ethos is defined towards which they will work, it will revolutionise how this horribly run club functions.

It's likely hard to say who is the best DoF, head of recruitment, etc. etc., because it is a structure of different roles.

I agree. But it is still better to hire a guy who worked already on that position than promote someone "who did great things with women team".

Agreed, I’d rather seem someone with pedigree in the role and see them given autonomy but there’s this expectation that that’s all we need and we’re set to win the league again.

Probably because Antony has an unlikeable personality, Weghorst was a "recruit" and was way worse than Antony, but he was a likeable bloke. I also think the fact that he's Brazilian has something to do with it, an assumption that a winger from Brazil should be someone in the style of one of Brazil's greats
