Guess you didn’t read the Athletic article
They both have no future here. The article spoke of an absolute shitshow behind the scenes that Murtough, whose rise was aided by Woodward's stupidity, oversaw but the tactics and man management are still terrible and Ten Hag didn't need a great structure to tell him that the likes of Antony, Mount and Amrabat, players he knew, weren't anywhere near good enough regardless of the prices eventually paid for them.

can't coach, can't adapt and in general doesn't really understand football, but besides that he's alright.

I'd keep him if only because that Athletic article from yesterday signposted clearly that no manager will succeed at United while the Glazers and their people remain in charge.
So sabotage the season because of an article. Absolute loser mentality.

Nah

Don’t get me wrong the Glazers can get fecked and have been our main reason for failure but he’s been backed and you could argue every single signing has been poor

I’m not having that no manager in world football given 400m couldn’t improve us that’s rubbish.

Another manager we hold on to for way too long. Our club simply can't be taken serious. It's a circus, a bad joke. But not a proper football club.

It's a sorry state of affairs when a team like West Ham has by far a better front 3 than us.

I reckon there's at least 12 front 3 in the PL I'd take over ours.

After £400m spent!

His system is fecking garbage. Whatever the feck is happening above him, I don't care. It doesn't excuse the pathetic standard of coaching on display. His job is to coach. And he had failed, horrificly at that. Sack him before we waste the rest of this season.
I agree that he should be sacked but I cant see how anyone can fully blame him for today when we should have been at least 3 up at halftime, Hojlund should have scored twice in the first half and Garnacho should have had at least 1.

He keeps going back to that midfield every opportunity he's given, and again it's another clusterfeck.

Both ten Hag and Murtough need to go.

People were happy with our transfer window last season but I still think our last genuinely good window was the 07/08 one.

No its on them collectively quite obviously but utilmate responsibility for building the squad is on Murtough. ETH is responsible for the coaching and on pitch performances which have been poor also.
You won’t find me in disagreement there. Fire the lot and exorcise OT and then start afresh.

How many hours that we have not scored in the PL now? We are breaking all the wrong type of records.

On a side note, Antony going out of his way to go and hug Kudus after how crap he has been all season and after today’s performance, just rubs me the wrong way.

Just get Ole back as a caretaker with a clause that he can't be appointed as a full time coach later.

Not sure what you are arguing about. Did you read anywhere where I said ETH is not responsible for the poor football on show?

Seems to be only able to coach a team to the required level up unto the halfway line.

If he comes on the post match interview and starts spouting again about how we know we can play well because we did at Everton , I will throw a brick at the TV.

His amazing system has scored 1 goal more than Luton and Forest, and 2 goals more than Burnley, 5 more than Sheffield United. That's it. Those are the only sides in the league with fewer goals.

Don't you dare say that our players are bottom 5 in the league. fecking pathetic coaching.

The only, only grace I will give him is that he's had a lot of injuries. But it must be looked at how much his methods have contributed to the injury problems.

Totally unsurprised at losing today and being totally outplayed in the second half. Moyesy is a tactical genius compared to this guy. Both damning indictments on his career here since March.

The only transition his team is capable of is to the Championship.

4 games without a goal - last time it happened was 1992

13 defeats before Christmas - not happened since 1930

At this point when a game starts, I don't even hope to win.
I just hope we score a goal.
Bring Mckenna asap.

As much as I believe in Højlund - he will turn out to be the worst signing of the season. What scares me is that we are so poor that he doesn't even look like scoring.

Agree completely and would unironically have Solskjaer back as interim manager now  it's been a disaster. Hojlund has been a disaster, Onana has been a disaster, Antony has been a disaster. Two of those are DIRECTLY Ten Hags fault for signing and to be honest are reason enough to look elsewhere.

Varane and Casemiro are done at our club, basically for the rest of the season we should be trying to blood some youth players and remove yet more Deadwood from a shitshow of a football team.

His falling out with Jadon Sancho, the obvious disillusionment in Marcus Rashford, the total failure to address any of our clear and present failings in the summer and the backwards transfer policies - anyone associated with any of this should go.

Someone give me one good reason this manager should keep his job?

The football is terrible. We can't make any chances. There are no patterns of play. The midfield can't retain he ball. We don't defend as a team.

The manager makes awful decisions like dropping Amrabat when he had a strong game against Liverpool. Every fan knows McTominay and Bruno in the same side does not work. Especially if you want to provide some cover for a new CB partnership, you put another holder in.

Not scored a goal in 360+ mins of football. Have United ever gone four games without a goal?

The striker he spends 85mil on is nowhere near good enough right now. Antony is a joke. Mount is a crock, which is why Chelsea wanted rid. 400+mil spent and we are worse than under Ole.

The teams we have beaten this season...
Burnley, Sheff Utd, Luton, Forest, Wolves, Everton, Brentford, Fulham, Chelsea.

Play anyone half decent and we lose.

There is nothing to build on here. Yes, we are without Casemiro and Martinez, but there should be enough quality in this side to at least play some half decent football.

He has to go. He is not going to turn this around. The players don't seem to believe in him, he talks crap in his press conferences and interviews so I can only imagine what he is telling them in the dressing room. We need a reboot and it can only happen when a new manager with fresh ideas comes in.

I said last week that EtH was our second worst manager post-Ferguson, just ahead of David Moyes.

Sorry David, I admit my mistake.

West Ham lost 5-1 and 5-0 in their last 2. So of course they beat us 2-0.
Yep. That's ETH.

He may end up walking out, because he's causing a lot of problems at the club. How on Earth can we attract any players under this manager.

Getting knocked out of Europe, completely, was the best thing for us. We need to just see this season out, and get rid of this guy. because ETH cannot do this job.

Don’t think this is the case at all…

It all completely depends on the football structure. And it is clear that United have never had a technical football structure responsible for player identification.

Murtoughs role has been to secure the targets identified by the manager. And he has clearly secured the majority of them…

These are Ten Hags targets… hence all the Dutch connections. And they aren’t good enough. Neither are his tactics.

Ten Hags only period of consistent performance is when he didn’t have his squad, and was forced to play a style he didn’t want to play.

The more influence had has had, the worse we look. He needs to go. Just isn’t up to the job.

I don't understand his point of playing a striker. Seriously? If you're not going to find a way to get the ball and create chances for your number 9 then what's the point?

He's the most brain dead of all the managers we've had since Fergie.

Never his fault though.

United minus the Glazers
I’d take Ole back in a heartbeat. That’s how dire things currently are.

Too all those suggesting injuries have cost us, it’s not the defeats that bother me, it’s the complete lack of purpose in our attacking play apart from a few isolated passages. No professional top-tier team should be this bad

That's the ridiculous thing, we were well on top until the West Ham goal, but every manager in the world would look crap if their players just can't finish chances.

Modern manager!

Give me old fashion manager! Bring ole back -- looked down on counter-attacking football?

At least it's something. What ETH has produced really was like 3 months of ok football
