I think he's a classic example of someone who assumed they'd just keep getting more acting jobs and be able to sustain a celebrity lifestyle regardless of ability/dedication. Turns out after Lewis (which I also enjoyed greatly!) he got typecast as a posh white man in a few period dramas and probably realised the quickest non skilled path to staying in the public eye was become a male Katie Hopkins.

I fell down a few rabbit holes due to this thread (again) and have now been acquainted with Andrew Lawrence (cnut, it seems) who apparantly established Frankie Boyle is woke. Now I havent kept tabs on Frankie Boyle, but the stand-up I've seen from him in the past wouldn't really qualify as woke, would it?

Frankie Boyle has very leftie views on things, he just doesn't care much about political correctness.
I think he’s very politically correct, even with his humour. Everything he does on stage is punching up, the only exception I can think of being his Harvey price joke. I doubt he tells that nowadays anyway.
