From the net.
Did River and the Doctor spent 24 years together?

He uses time travel to ensure a perfect date, gives her the sonic screwdriver that she had in "Silence in the Library", and comforts her by revealing that the nights on Darillium last "24 years", giving River a happy life spent with the Doctor before her impending death in the Library.

But Rivers story is all over the place in time, but I dont think she is Flood.
She's Moffat's character. I'd be surprised at her being used extensively by RTD.

Reports this morning that Millie Gibson (Ruby) has already left Doctor Who and Varada Sethu will be replacing her in season 2 with Ruby in only 2/3 eps.

Kinda par for the course with RTD. Major cast change in every season.

Season 1 - 9 & Rose
Season 2 - 10 & Rose
Season 3 - 10 & Martha
Season 4 - 10 & Donna

New Season 1 - 15 and Ruby
New Season 2 - 15 and Varada

Ruby's story does seem like a one and done. Clara came in with a big mystery and when it got solved she should have left. I loved Clara but she stayed too long. Maybe with Ruby's story done there is no need for her.

Or she is a timelord and she regenerates into Varada, but the Bi-Generation keeps Ruby alive. Ruby grows old and becomes Mrs Flood to make sure young Ruby does meet up with the Doctor in some sort of timeloop.

Even if you think the episodes have been shit quality wise - It has been a ratings smash, critically well received with high AI scores and the majority of the fandom have loved it. His return has objectively not been terrible for Doctor Who which was completely in the shit following the Chibnal era. The fact he’s managed to piss off the Mail and the usual gaggle of anti-woke cnuts on YouTube so much they have to spend their days review bombing rotten tomatoes whilst doing it is but an added bonus.

That not a bad explanation, but all the reports I have seen say she was dropped and it was as bit of a shock, but thats RTD for you.

Huge red flag if the robots are enjoying it.

Hopefully true as she seems to be a terrible actor. Yeah it's Dr who and you don't need to be amazing but something better than high school play would be good.

Some reports saying Millie was fired for being a diva, others saying she quit due to poor conditions and problems with production staff ala Ecclestone.

Could be Disney wanted someone else that they knew in the role. I have a feeling Disney have more control than people think

I am re-watching Doctor Who and I have got to The Giggle.
I had thought about Mrs Flood, could she actually be the Doctor? Could she be Tennent's Doctor after a few regenerations
Tennant's doctor regenerates into Ncuti i believe. He stated he was the way he is because Tennant took time out with Donna.

Mrs Flood is likely River or else another Master perhaps

yeah but all this bi regeneration stuff who knows. 2 Doctors 2 TARDIS's which we know Tennents Doctor uses because at the end of the Giggle they talk about it.
I doubt very much its River,

The BBC today confirms that Ncuti Gatwa will depart Doctor Who after his second season as the Fifteenth Doctor, set to air in 2025. Matt Smith, renowned for his role as the Eleventh Doctor, will once again step into the TARDIS, this time as the sixteenth incarnation of the Time Lord, mirroring David Tennant’s celebrated Doctor Who return last year.
Was not expecting a Smith return

I liked the first episode. A fun little adventure.

I agree though that episode 2 was the better of the two.

There were bits of episode 2 I really liked, but the full on dance number at the end lost me. I always struggle with that sort of belief suspension burden. Not a bad start to the season and still pretty optimistic for the remainder.

I thought they were both terrible. Hate the Americanisation and Disneyfication of the show.

I don't want to go down the root of the show that it's just far too camp now and more interested in ticking boxes than delivering good TV.

I understand the show has always been camp of course it has but perhaps theres good camp and bad camp and Davies is not really capable of making good camp TV anymore.

I think Ncuti has the makings off a great Doctor Millie Gibson cannot act to save her life though and I suspect that's why they have replaced her so soon.

I'll keep watching as I'm a fan but disappointing is the word so far on my view

It's well made, well cast, well acted but with one glaring flaw - it's too postmodern for my taste. There's only so many times you can wink to the camera before it becomes impossible to suspend disbelief. Scifi has to take itself completely seriously or I can't.

I wouldn't go as far as terrible but the first episode was not great and the second turned into fecking Glee. RTD has credit in the bank though, so I'll give it time.
Terrible is a bit harsh, OK first EP was a quirky one. Second was way better.

Just my opinion. Doctor who has always been a bit cringe and over the top but this combines those two elements and adds the Disney stuff on top and it becomes far too much for me.

I agree that Ncuti and Davies are good but I'd prefer they went back to a bit of the older elements which won't happen because of the Disney takeover.

First episode was cringe second was absolutely awful. I agree with the Glee comparison and you never go full Glee. If it doesn't pick up soon I think I might quit.

First episode was meh. Not bad, I just didn't really like the whole baby concept.

Second episode was quite good in patches but very samey to the Toymaker, and again not sure I fully bought into the concept of the embodiment of music essence or whatever they described it as. It was a bit like Flux with the villain being the embodiment of space or time or whatever the feck.

I thought the whole song and dance about a twist at the end would mean we'd get a little twist at the end of the episode, but nope. Bit weird really. Like, if it had been worked into the story somehow, like if the villain had control over people through music and controlled them do it, it'd have been interesting and a dark edge to it, but it seemed pointless doing it once the episode had essentially finished. Although I'm sure it's a slight nod to the predicted twist at the end of the series (Susan). But if so I thought they'd add a little teaser at the end of the song and dance to at least justify it.

Oh, I'm fully with you on that. The show constantly changes, but there are core elements you need to retain. Hopefully, it'll calm down and get back to the basics soon.

They won't go back to how it was. They're purposefully taking it in a different direction. RTD pitching it as fantasy opposed to sci-fi. I suspect we'll have numerous song and dance routines, lots of childish stories and creatures, lots of Toymaker-esque "not of this universe" villains etc. It is what it is tbh. It had got stale before so I'm not opposed to it taking a different direction and trying to just take it for it is.
