Hes in a really good spell of form. Id love for him to win the europa here and sign off, he was terribly exposed in ten hags set up last season but was excellent season 1 and conducted himself well when dropped. A classy and effective player still in certain games but we got him a couple of years too late. If he signs off with a trophy I think he'd be remembered fairly fondly

Yes indeed.
Thought he did well today and for a few weeks.

It really pisses me off how Ten Hag almost ruined a player like Casemiro with his ridiculous 1 man midfield bollocks.

Take away the Newcastle and Liverpool horror games and he’s actually been alright this season. A shame those two games have cast a shadow on him. If an offer comes in we should obviously take it but I wouldn’t be kicking him out the door before a fair few others.

Glad to see Ruben is trusting him more and giving him minutes. Ugarte has been coming off before him which tells you that Ruben values him.

ETH's ping pong style of football exposed him as he doesn't have the legs to constantly run back and forth. And he probably never did.

But in our more settled compact system, his quality is coming through. I don't mind if he spends the last season here if we cannot sell him for money. We don't need to force him out.

Madrid fans always told us he always played himself into fitness every season. He's obviously lost even more of his pace, but his performance in 2025 leave me hope he's not just a total waste of a squad space, and the salary he is on isn't a total waste of money.

Play well till end of season and hopefully there is interest in the summer. Hes is not the future

If we win the EL with him then he's worth every penny.

Most tackles from a United player since Owen Hargreaves against Liverpool in 08...kinda want to watch Owen's performance from that game now.

Hope Casemiro starts against Lyon. To me his performances lately have made him pretty much first choice in the midfield.

Agree, I hope he starts on Thursday.

really like this current version of him and Ugarte in midfield. we definitely are not as easy to run through at the minute. Both will put the boot in nicely

He's been low-key impressive this season (sorry for using that expression - I've been trying to impress my kids...) Outside of a few horror shows (Liverpool, Newcastle), he's been pretty solid for us. Great to see.

Statistics from that Athletic article make for impressive reading. He's our second best passer too after Bruno.
He still has a role to play here, as long as he isn't playing twice a week

Back to his best in crucial part of the season. Playing with Ugarte suits him. I have a feeling that he will be the key in our run for EL.

Olympique Lyonnais 2:2 Man Utd New
Thought he was poor tonight, careless with his passing, was repeatedly bypassed, was lazy getting back, and panicky at times too, particularly when charging out of the box in the build up to Lyon's equaliser.

Stats say he won 13% of his duels tonight, and he was dribbled past 6 times (the next highest player on the pitch was Mazraoui, on 2). A passenger.

Agree with all this he was a yard off it all night and being bypassed all game what does amorim do bring off ugarte who atleast puts in a shift but that's his usual predictable sub anyway.

Ugarte was on a yellow though.

It’ll be Casemiro-Bruno pairing at Old Trafford I think.

I understand why Ugarte came off, he was knackered from playing in midfield by himself and was also on a yellow. The issue is leaving Casemiro on at all, Eriksen could easily have taken the last 20 minutes.

3 minutes into injury time, we're crusing, everything under control until he gets caught with the ball in midfield to instgate a lyon attack and handover the initiative. For a player of his pedigree, he's a poor game manager. Has to be better than that.

Yeah that was one of many rubbish moments from him. Another I remember was leaving Lacazette in acres of space on the edge of the box to shoot when he was drawn towards Cherki who was already double marked.

Even worse was him charging out to be easily beaten just before the Lyon equaliser. For such an experienced player, he seems to regularly lose his cool very easily.

Man Utd 5:4 Olympique Lyonnais New
Catalyst for the comeback, two great assists.

Still a brilliant player. Quite telling that he stayed on ahead of a man ten years his junior.

He made the difference at the death and his ability to actually pass forward is a weapon in itself when you look at the other CMs around him. The only other CM we've got who can provide that is Mainoo and I'm glad they were both on the pitch at the end.
