Hope we play 3-5-2, seems to suit us better and we still carry a threat in attack unlike 4-3-3 which turns into a single man upfront.
    Who's the third mysterious midfielder?

Our record is really really bad at Stamford Bridge.
We should park the bus. That's the best tactic to use over there.
If we go head to head, we could get smashed to pieces (like last season).

Go for the draw this weekend and in the return fixture, try and beat them. Try and get 4 out of 6 points, from Chelsea.
They aren't as good as last season and we are a little bit better.

This is going to be a repeat of the Liverpool game, including the meltdown post-match. Even if we win there will still be a meltdown.

A meltdown after winning without honor at Stamford Bridge? That would be funny, considering our record there. One almost thinks Mourinho should setup the team like some show ponies of attacking football.

You'd think that a good win against Tottenham would have raised the spirits, but it made it worse. I think the only way people won't moan is if we beat them like we did last season at OT. But this is the Bridge which is a different animal.

Been saying this for a while on his thread, he was the closest thing to Pogba we had, Mourinho even used in friendlies like that, and they go an loan him...:houllier:

P.S.: you all spare me the hindsight bull....
I think most of us on here, would have prefered Pereira to stay.
Problem is his lack of defensive/physique if he was to be employed in the middle, and JM seems to prefer taller players in these positions.

I know its sounds weird to say this about a 4-0 loss but I dont think we got smashed last year. They scored with every attack and we missed chances at key moments - Ibra was in the middle of that horrible run.

Some of the defending for the goals last year was an absolute joke. Kantes goal and their first goal come to mind.

Dont care how we do it but I think we should go for the win.

One piece of advice to the team would be to actually be awake and ready when Atkinson blows the wistle.

He's in the midst of a bit of a dry spell, he's never scored against Chelsea and we're away from home, but I can't shake this feeling that Lukaku is going to bang in a hattrick on Sunday.

Jose will take a pragmatic approach as always with these games. I for one would not be bothered if he did. His approach will be - don't lose and move on. The accumulation of points is what's on his mind, not the style of play. I think we need to get used to that as that's what we've recruited in him.

Agreed! This is a must win for them in my opinion, if they are to have any realistic hope of holding onto their title. Although I don't imagine they will exactly go gung ho, this should still play right into Jose's hands. Keep it tight for the first 60 and I think our firepower on the bench could just make the difference.

Would love Fellaini to be fit for this, even over Pogba. His height and elbows would be very useful in helping park a bus.

    I'm predicting a 3-4-1-2.

Mkhi in the no.10 spot, Rashford and Lukaku up top, Young and Darmian as wingbacks.

If Kante is back then I can see Chelsea winning, if he's not playing then I'll be much more confident about our chances.

Who is the front 3 in a 3-4-3. Doesn't that include a wide right?
Look, even in our standard 4-2-3-1 with Mata, the right hardly ever is wide. It's mostly Valencia through there. Here it will be the same, only more. Just check Mkhitaryan's average position against CSKA, for instance.

Darmian over Valencia is a good call, actually.

Only thing I don’t want to see is a Liverpool away like cowardly approach. Anything else is better.

Sadly that wont be enough this season. Where as normally this would be a food point we are chasing a team that's going for wins and beating these teams. We need wins cause god knows draws won't be enough.

Well let be reasonable. We are never going to go “all out attack” against a top side away. But if we did and lost a game, it’s still better than being cowardly.
    Absolute Nonsense IMO
    It's a results business

What planet are you living on?

So I am assuming you wake up on a weekend and see the score on your phone and go on with your day. No point watching football right, all about results.
You know what brings me joy? Us fecking winning.

Yeah and I assume you wake up dying for us to be like liverpool and go out lose nonsense games because we have no tactics.

Yes of course. But in case you missed it, we didn’t win against Liverpool.
    You cant win every game.

Lets have a sing and dance about Spurs, but the fact is, between the game against us and Liverpool, we picked up more points.

    Never win every game

How about those glorious fergie years where we always played all out attack (sic) and lost about a million games in a row against Liverpool 1-0 and Danny Murphy seemed to score the winner every time. Say you loved them. Or are you old enough to even remember.
