Yeah and I assume you wake up dying for us to be like liverpool and go out lose nonsense games because we have no tactics.
    Your on the wind up
You can go check my post history. I ridicule Liverpool as much as the next guy on this forum. But there’s a huge middle ground between being brainless Liverpool team and a spineless performance we showed at Anfield.

    You cant win every game.

Lets have a sing and dance about Spurs, but the fact is, between the game against us and Liverpool, we picked up more points.

    Exactly
We have all played each other 1 home and 1 away each

    United 4pts
    Spurs 3pts
    Liverpool 1pt

    Never win every game

How about those glorious fergie years where we always played all out attack (sic) and lost about a million games in a row against Liverpool 1-0 and Danny Murphy seemed to score the winner every time. Say you loved them. Or are you old enough to even remember.
I don’t remember that era for sure.

But we don’t have to go OTT here. I am fine with a solid pragmatic approach. But completely handing the initiative over to opponent and not even make an effort to get out of your half is not the football I want my club playing.

You’re right and I am not discussing solely the results here, I thought that was clear.

I’d love for us to beat Chelsea as much as you would. We can’t do that without trying to score a goal. We didn’t try against Liverpool and got the bore draw we deserved.

Yes it would be hard for any team to score or even create against us if we defend with 8 players. Also I am not really concerned about Liverpool creating chances, I am only talking about us, Manchester United, being more proactive and create more than one decent chance against a Liverpool side that has so far conceded 16 goals this season.

Similarly Chelsea defense is shaky at the moment and it would be counter intuitive to not attack them.

No because it leaves spaces in behind for their attacking players like hazard Pedro Willian, who are better than ours to expose us.

Their attack being better than ours is subjective on current form. Our defense though is much stronger than theirs so even by that logic, we should attack.

All out attack and losing 3-0 is better??
    Ok
Are those the only two options? Park the bus or all out attack? Do you think there is no middle ground between those extremes? We either get a bore draw after hanging on for 90 minutes or we just get taken apart and lose 3-0?

    2) Mourinho to park the bus ... again
Since January 2015, Jose Mourinho has led his teams into nine away games against other members of the Premier League’s so-called big six. Mourinho’s team has scored in only one of them – the 2-1 defeat to Spurs at the tail end of last season. Of Mourinho’s last nine away games against top-six sides, five have finished goalless. This is precisely as many stalemates as in the other 73 games played in that time by all the other top-six sides put together. No other manager has drawn more than one away game in that period 0-0, with Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino and Louis van Gaal yet to be involved in any, having played 32 top-six away matches between them. In short, don’t get your hopes up. SB

    Jeez... That record!

I'd be delighted with a point on Sunday, couldnt care less how we play but avoiding defeat by any means necessary would be a great result.

Park the bus for all i care, we need a result.

Chelsea will be ready I guess and show up for this game. On the other hand, I doubt Jose will try to use their poor form and attack them. Most likely, the game will be super boring and end 0-0 while we hardly create chances but neither will Chelsea

Think Chelsea will go 352 with Hazard behind Morata. If we get Herrera on him, I can see us beating them by isolating Morata.

I'd go with Pogba, Matic and Herrera as a 3 with 3 at the back.

Will be like the Liverpool away game all over again.
They are in poor form, coming from a major defeat. Will we TRY to take advantage of it? No. 0-0 i guess.

If Pogba plays then it confirms to me that he's been working on his running style etc rather than simply recovering from a hamstring injury. A few days training after 7 weeks and he's playing v Chelsea?
If he plays then hes been keeping fit for a while now, Jose did play him on his debut after having no pre season other than playing basketball for a month.

United are still waiting on Lingard, who could be included. Rojo should return after the international fortnight. Pogba and Fellaini could also return later this month.

    0-1 United.

Matic 85th minute 30 yard left-foot thunderbastard. It will puncture the ball and rip a hole in the net, and if Courtois gets a hand to it, it's breaking his arm.

Okay I un-captained Lukaku in my fantasy team so at least a brace on the way. Also broke my principles and bought a City player so they won't score. Thank me later.

I would drop Lukaku and play Rashford and Martial uptop with Lingard dropping bit deep. Press high and Luiz or Cahill will make a mistake.

I am confused, my is Pogba in some teams, all reports I have read is he is not fit yet and wont be for a few weeks, or have I missed something ?
Some people like to live in baseless hope. Probably the same people who thought he would make a "surprise return" just 1-2 weeks into his injury when no return date was given.

Dont think Pogba will play. Might have a look at the Full time devils site when I get home, They usually do a 'bush cam' of the Friday training. Would be interested to see if he is actually training with the first team. Think he will be back after the international break

damn, Hoped Fellaini would be back. He is even more essential than Pogba for these top 6 away gigs.

We must outnumber them in midfield and not make the mistake we did at Liverpool by playing Herrera and Matic. If Pogba and Fellaini are not ready I'd play Mctominay instead and drop Mkhitaryan.

This game......point(s) is much, much more important than performance.

Grind out the result and wait for PogBack, Fella and much later we will have Zlatan hopefully by early Dec. We will go out full steam.

So I can accept Jose parks the bus again, playing negatively, or whatever the press would like to call it. See them again come the end of the season.

If there is one man who can grind out the result, it's this guy.
