My 6th place in the lineup game is in real danger. Really have no idea who to pick. Something is fishy here, why would LVG tell Mourinho how many starters are missing?

Tactics and managerial tactics! I thought this was a win then the squad news came out and changed things. Not sure about our sudden burst of injuries for this game. I think we might be preparing for the other games by letting this go to a draw. LVG's on a roll but might be cautious over when it might end and its implications for staying in the top 4. IMO this about getting through at minimal cost and loss to maintain the roll to the end of the season.

LVG is just very honest, not seen him lie about players injuries since becoming our manager.

I'm fairly confident of the XI I've picked, but there's that nagging feeling at me that Blind will probably end up playing... or there was until it was revealed that Falcao was to start. Suppose there's a chance that Blind could be LB and Rooney in midfield as Shaw isn't fit but I don't think so

    Shaken, and very stirred......
we are having a blinding run in results wise against strong opposition. I just really feel this is one fence too many. Thought we had a real chance before the team injury news...a draw would be a fantastic result

Are you saying there is a possibility, that LVG was lying and those players are actually fit? Is that even allowed?

Only Nicholas on the Soccer Saturday panel gives us a chance of getting a point today.

Hopefully we cover Falcao in glue before the game starts.

Today is a big oppertunity for Falcao, he really should show what he is made of. Maybe his last chance to prove his Worth.

Yup, absolute last chance saloon. Even then it likely won't be enough to convince us to keep him

My confidence is gone with Carrick and Blind out.. Herrera to do a job in CDM? Its Falcao and Di Marias time to show why they're here!

all or nothing Falcao. You get us through this and you're probably here to stay.....for a heavily reduced fee of course. :smirk:

Is anyone on here a member of that forum? Would be good to see what the suggested line up is.
We already know that Falcao and McNair are playing so the only option left is Shaw or Blind, and it's likely the former.

    DDG
    Valencia McNair Smalling Shaw
    Herrera Rooney Fellaini
    Mata Falcao Young

    Falcao
    Young Fellaini Herrera Mata
    Rooney
    Shaw McNair Smalling Valencia
    De Gea
    Is an absolutely terrifying prospect.

For some reason Falcao starting makes me excited as feck even though he will probably do nothing.

The defence worries me but we don't have any injuries upfront so we should at least score a goal or two and see where that takes us.

Right now i would say we will win 1-2.

Of course it's allowed, it's just a manager talking in a press conference. And Fergie has told the odd porkie here and there, but no, I don't expect it to be a lie.

We're gonna win this, the injuries have obviously hurt my confidence a bit but we still have 8/11 players that beat Tottenham, Pool, and City all very convincingly. We have high confidence and great team spirit, we're in better form, we'll win.

I'm not concerned about the lineup/formation. Most of our core performers, Young, Fellaini, Mata, Herrera, Rooney etc are all playing. This may also give Di Maria a chance to get back in.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Falcao can do. I hope he can pull out one last magnificent performance

Even with all of the injuries I'm still really confident. I'm confident of three points, but I think Chelsea will score early before we equalize and go onto to win it.
    2-1 United.

I'm just nowhere near as confident without Carrick. I'd keep Rooney up front, Mata and Young wide of him but move Fellaini into the holding role and have Di Maria and Herrera ahead of him.

Like the confidence but the injuries can affect our entire game plan. Carrick's distribution will be sorely missed and the Blind-Fellaini-Young axis has been disrupted.

Valencia may be asked to do the holding midfielder job.
Thought this myself, but he's never done it for United to my knowledge, although i know he plays there for Ecuador. It would mean Rafael coming in for his first start in ages which also doesn't seem likely. I think it's more likely we either rush back Jones or Blind to play there or just use Fellaini or Rooney and hope for the best.

Not sure why I'm not nervous. Whether it's because I'm confident that our play recently will shine through regardless of who we're missing and do the job today, or that I'm actually expecting to lose.

Never before will I be chuffed to see a 0-0.
Same. probably cause we have given a game to every side we've played this season and today will be no different.
