When was our last convincing display?
    I'm hoping for a 4-0.

Sanchez has done feck all. I want Lukaku back in, so he can get in form again.
Sanchez even in his worst form is mobile atleast. When Lukaku is not scoring, he's getting in everyone's way.

Lukaku needs to earn his start with good cameos off the bench.

Both have done feck all, I would rather give Sanchez a run, Lukaku needs to drop some timber.
Both have done feck all this season. Lukaku was good for 3/4th of last season but in some sense, it would do wonders for us if Sanchez gets some form.

An inform Sanchez is something we really need atm.

so it looks like a start for Valencia on the right. I hope he does not start Lukaku but my feeling is that he will start Lukaku.
Matic will start with Pogba and probably Fred.

    The centreback conundrum

Mourinho spoke about the centreback situation in yesterday's press conference and has revealed that Bailly may play against Young Boys:

"The situation is that we have five central defenders and it’s a little bit difficult to find the best combination, not just related to their qualities but also related with the injury situation.

"It’s a bit difficult to really go for a couple of players that they are a little bit more open to injures and then they play one or two matches. And you want continuity and a three-match-in-a-row and you have to break the continuity and start everything again.

"And I think Smalling and Lindelof, they are playing much better than at the start of the season. I decide to give Victor his chance of evolution. With some mistakes, yes, because he is young, especially in the Premier League. But we decide to give him this continuity, which I think it is clear that it has improved him by his physical qualities.

"He is very fast, he is not very tall. We thought that Chris Smalling would give some balance to his qualities. Chris is very good in the air, very tall, he is dominant in the air. Victor in the building up is better than Chris, so we found this balance and I again repeat they are not perfect, nobody is perfect but that couple is performing quite well.

"And then we have Phil, Rojo and Eric. And I try to make them motivated and to make them motivated that I cannot select the same all of the time. If I put Phil Jones on the bench five matches in a row and never Rojo and never Eric. So I am trying depending on the matches, the situation, I try.

"Marcos is injured a lot of [the] time, so he is a little bit behind. But between Phil and Eric we are working like this, when we decide to make a rotation, we will make, when we need to make we will make and they are there to play.

"So I can tell you, because he already knows, Eric is not playing or on the bench [against Palace] but don’t be surprised if he plays on Tuesday."

Why do players gather at the Lowry again? Can't they all just meet at the training ground and go from there?

What I want - a game where the team hits full steam for an extended period and look like they’re enjoying themselves as they rack up the goals.

What I expect - play well for 10 minutes, get a goal, then our play gets worse and worse until, just as it looks like palace will get something, we get a breakaway second. Then we see out the match in second gear.

I think Valencia and Lukaku will start. Something tells me Sanchez is latest to get the boot. Martial and Lingard on the flanks. Matic, Pogba, and Fella. Rest is obvious. Would like to see Dalot get a game.

Yeah that is what I'm leaning towards. I think 9 of the 11 names are easy to pick. Just the two to partner Martial up front that are in doubt.

I have a good feeling about this. We could even hit 5 for the first time post Fergie. Pogba to put on an amazing show.

With fellaini confirmed to start I hope to god this means matic dropped. We don't need both and fellaini has been way better than him even if I think he shouldn't play either.

Funny how things change. Just about 2 months ago Lukaku and Sanchez were the surest picks while Martial was always a doubt to be in the squad sometimes let alone start games. Now here we are sitting pondering which 2 attackers will play alongside Martial.

I think Fellaini and Valencia would be too non-dynamic on top of Matic and Pogba, so I went with Herrera, and Fellaini as a sub.

Fellaini actually helps us play fluid, somewhat decent football under Mourinho. Pay no attention to the haters.

Lukaku really shouldn't be starting but he has come out to defend the manager so I guess we know he is starting tomorrow. Sanchez has done decent before the city game so it would have been nice to see him in the lineup.

A few more minutes before we know though.

Should sneak this by 1 or 2, we'll have 10 mins of good, fast paced football, 80mins of dire turd and we'll have loads on here telling us how things have changed, it's clear Carrick, McKenna are having an impact, Mourinho is a hero, then we drop points to Southampton or Arsenal and the process repeats.

Dont want to see Lingard on the right wing (ever). Lukaku playing isnt that big of a deal, hes not great but he does have his uses in certain games, as long as he stays out of the big ones. I'd hope Fred gets some time, hes a good player just being kept out for some reason.

He's crucial to Mourinhos game plan and they way we want to play whether it's starting or coming from the bench. Rather him than Matic

Darmian starting. Mourinho really doesn't like Valencia. Got the front three right but still end up with 9 thanks to Darmian and Mata instead of Valencia and Fellaini.
