  1. Premier League formation vs ESL

I was 18 in 1992 and had been going to Old Trafford since I was a babe in arms. I don't remember there being any backlash - except from the actual football league, who obviously were losing control. I admit at that time my circle of friends would have been limited to supporters of United, City...
  2. Club Sale | It’s done!

Nobody wants them to remain, but lots accept it's preferable than being owned by a state and adding another nail to footballs coffin. Everybody wants them gone.
  3. Club Sale | It’s done!

The opposite of this would be true. The Venn diagram would show the Brexit voters as pro-Qatar - the same people that want to keep politics out of sport, that opposed black players taking the knee, that don't care who own United as long as they get a transfer rush. The framing of people being...
  4. Antony: why the concern - use the player performance thread

United fans desperate to have a United player to hate on and pile the pressure on him even more. Same people who have spent two years hating Rashford. Yes he cost a lot of money - but he cost a lot because Ajax didn't want to sell and ETH was desperate to have him. That fact alone and the faith...
  5. The centre-forward market...

Osimhen by a distance. Kane is great but the spine of the team would all be 30 at the same time, which would be bad long-term. Personally don't rate Vlahovic at all. Sesko not yet good enough to be first choice at our level.

Yes - thats we could get Weghorst from Burnley. It's 4 across the whole season, but a max of 2 from premier league at any one time.

Do you mean 1 plus Weghorst? You can have more than 2 at once, but only max of 2 from premier league clubs - so we could have Butland, Weghorst and a.n. other from abroad.
  8. Wout Weghorst

Based on budgetary constraints i think Weghorst will be a good signing. Commited, good finisher, good presser, different option/style. He definitely could be the difference between 4th/5th, winning a cup/ not winning. And we desperately need more cover. I'm all for it.

With respect to the multiple loan discussion - The maximum loans in one season is 4 - and Dubravka and Butland take up 2. So limit now would be 2 more loans. I'll be happy if we get 2 more options, but suspect it'll only be 1.
  10. Vincent Aboubakar

There's no way in the world United are considering this. I can't believe people are seriously discussing it.
  11. Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Maybe - but you'd still rather major replacements were gradual than in one fell swoop. Like i say Kane is great, but if we can afford him we can afford younger long-term targets.
  12. Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

If we have the money to spend on Kane in the summer we should still avoid him. Kane himself is a great player - but when next season starts he'll be 30, Casemiro will be 30, Varane will be 30, Eriksen will be 31 - do you want to have to replace all them at the same time? Any big money spent on a...
  13. Manchester City vs Manchester United

Think Casemiro was definitely signed by the board and Ten Hag only agreed once he realised de Jong wasn't coming. Similar to the van de beek and Fred signings. Especially as Spanish reports say Perez was touting him around for sale all summer. Still plenty of time for him to become an important...
  14. Manchester United vs Liverpool

Brave, brave man Erik cos he'll get so much grief if we get battered. But I'm all for it and glad he's done it. Just wish we had a suitable stand in for DDG too.
