  1. Championship 22/23

As were Luton. Both sides came up from that division in 2018 alongside Accrington and Wycombe. Cracking play off group. Middlesbrough were in the league growing up for me. Luton would be new and I missed Coventry's tenure as part of the furniture. Coventry have a decent side with Gyokeres and...
  2. Footballer's wikipedia profile photos

The Derby players circa 2006-2007 in a car park must always be preserved as their wikipedia photo.
  3. Players you had forgotten existed

Kiki Musampa came to mind recently. As did Emile Mpenza.
  4. Players you had forgotten existed

Some names that popped up randomly; Jonathan Zebina Michel Bastos Mista (Toronto legend ;) ) Mancini (Roma/Brazilian) Grady Diangana
  5. Canadian Soccer

Glad to see Ismael Kone in the Canada squad. He's come into the team and been the highlight of the season since. Raw but has a versatile skill set. In other news, we could very well qualify officially in two days. Where's the excitement, chaps?!
  6. Random footballers from years gone by that you remember for no reason...

Caleb Folan Craig Fagan Mads Timm (FIFA 04 legend for me) Marek Jankolovski Edson Braafheid Sasa Papac
  7. PL Relegation Battle 21/22

Lowest points tally for 17th or to mathematically stay up? If the latter, 31 would have been enough in 09/10 due to Hull and Burnley finishing on 30 points in 18th and 19th.
  8. Steve Bruce appointed as West Brom manager

They were on the way down under Ismael, but he hasn't galvanized the side since taking over. On paper, the squad suits him well, too. Dike being injured not helping matters for them but West Brom are most likely in a much needed rebuilding stage. Not sure Bruce is capable of doing that anymore...
  9. Next permanent manager | Poll updated

Kneejerk reaction. Every manager loses the odd game against the mid-table teams.
  10. Next permanent manager | Poll updated

Rodgers is Northern Irish and his stint at Liverpool was before Celtic.
  11. Robin van Persie is the best striker we have ever had in the PL...

From a neutral's perspective, I would rate Cole, van Nistelrooy, and Rooney higher. Rooney was the complete package. van Nistelrooy was devastating in the box, and Cole was pretty complete as well. van Persie is certainly your best forward from 2012 onwards though.
  12. Nou Camp stadium to be rebranded Nou Camp Spotify

Everyone except broadcasters and sponsors will still refer to it as the Nou Camp or Camp Nou. Like St James' Park or Dean Court.
  13. Falling out of love with football (warning - miserable moaning post)

Think you are comparing anecdotes with stats. I don't think many, if any, in this thread are saying their experiences are the objective truth.
  14. UK and ROI Euro 2028 | Official - it's coming home

Yeah, I think that's fairly inevitable. For 2030, I'd like Morocco or Spain-Portugal. Not a fan of 3+ hosts, despite us benefiting from it in 2026. The South American bid in particular would essentially ruin the qualifying stage for that tournament.
  15. Falling out of love with football (warning - miserable moaning post)

I reckon a lot of the posters here would enjoy going to the lower leagues (League One and below) or Conference games based on their statements and experiences (or lack thereof) They need your support and money as well. Worth a shot? The lower you go, the more pure it tends to be.
