Ideally, you'd want the new ball to do something in the first 10 or so overs. ODI cricket, imo, is fake right now. If these same players played 10 years ago, their averages would be around ten runs lower - for instance Kohli averaged 50ish for a good proportion of his career and now bumped it to 60 in the last 3. Guys like Root, Imam, Fakhar, averaging 50 plus just doesnt seem right to me. Even Rohit is getting up to 50 - should be more like 39-42. I remember when Rohit fecking averaged 30 for like 100 matches.
Finally.

He mentioned 2 indian players, 1 England player and 2 Pakistan, somehow you just highlighted Pak player to make it look like he is bitter about some Pak batsman?

Or you agree with his point that Pak batsman shouldn't be anywhere near that average?

Should be a cracking match today. Hopefully SA do justice to their talent. Amla needs to get back into form.

I have been telling him for ages that Pakistani batsmen and this Pakistani team are shit.

Finally, what?

Can’t see anything but a NZ win
Ngidi back is a big plus and strengthens their pace bowling attack. NZ starts as favorites ofcourse but I think this could be closer than expected. Hope I'm right, this WC needs a cracking match. Apart from Eng-Pak and NZ-Bang, none of the matches have been close.

Its not that I think guys like Imam and Fakhar are shit - they're obviously good players. However, flat pitches have lessened the worth of batting averages.

Play to start at 12pm, stupidly we will just have 49 overs which makes little sense.

Cricket does itself no favours. Why don't you just do the fecking toss indoors, so you can get started with the game as soon as the weather clears up?

Jeez missed the wicket. Good ball by Boult or what? Terrible start by SA for sure with that mix-up too.

I think the reason this World Cup has failed to take off so far is that Pakistan West Indies and South Africa have all been mostly hopeless.

For some reason I got the impression that Pant opened in LO cricket
Top 3 will be Ro, KL and VK. After that it depends on the situation. So far we have had top 3 put around 200+ and needed someone to accelerate so Hardik has played there. In case we lose early wickets, MS should come at 4. But the 4-7 would usually be interchangeable.

What is this batting. Making Afghan innings yesterday look like speedy gonzales in comparison.

De Villiers retired at the wrong time. If he never wanted to be considered for the 2019 WC he could have retired 2 or 3 years ago instead I feel his decision came out of blue of SA and they never could try out a replacement. To make matter worse he offered to come back now. Not solely blaming Ab for SA's miserable WC so far but he is to be blamed for this.
