The key may be in the wording, 'had' asked, which could suggest he has already asked. He may have asked for them and the suitable targets are not available now for whatever reason or Woodward may be trying to sign them now. I really hope it is the latter

I checked the Daily Mail website and absolutely nowhere does it say Ole has asked for the signing of 2 midfielders in January. We may get lucky with some loan deal, but I can't see any of our priority targets being available in January.

Personally tend to believe him too as United have made him an incredibly wealthy guy. Why would he bite the hand that feeds him? Some clubs with cash, city for example, refuse to deal with him a lot of the time. Don't think liverpool do a great deal with him either but stand to be corrected on that one.
