He's been giving the ball away a hell of a lot since the lockdown finished. Obviously the way he plays he's always trying to force things so he's going to give it away a fair bit, but the last few games it's almost been too much and I don't remember it happening quite so much before the lockdown. In saying that, at the end of the day he's scoring and assisting at a ridiculous rate so what do I know.
His barrage of aggressive passing works well against these poor teams as they don’t want the ball In their own half anyway, and we still dominate possession despite the extra loss in turnover.

It will be interesting to see what we do against Pool or City though, as we can’t afford to turnover the ball this much. He may need to play a little more conservative or we could just play 2 up top, with McT or Fred added into midfield and play Bruno just behind the 2 forwards.

Wasn't at his best but still had moments of class as always and good to get him off for the final 25 mins. He really should have scored that header though, would have been a wonderful goal.

Hasn't Bruno already played, and assisted, in a 2-0 win over City?

Goal or assist every game on average. He is the C.Ronaldo of midfielders. Machine.

Sort of trash and simultaneously vitally important to the team performance. And still found a (somewhat dodgy) way to get himself a goal. He's a special player.

Make no mistake, the extremely high-risk approach he is taking since lockdown ended is tailored to these low-end opponents we're facing. Giving the ball away in their half in these games is basically cost free and actually helps to stop their defensive formation locking up too tight. Meanwhile when he's on his game any one of those ambitious passes can turn into a goal at any moment. Wasn't at the races in that regard today but the point still stands. He wouldn't be playing like this against a big opponent.

His worst performance for us probably and yet comes up with a goal and an assist. I want to see him improve his passing accuracy without losing his creativity. That’s the challenge for him.

Was abit crap today. I think it was fatigue. Still scored and assisted and made his influence felt. Not bad for less than top form!

Would have preferred he was wholly rested. He will need a full game off soon. Maybe Palace as I can’t see any opportunity after that.

6 - Bruno Fernandes has registered six assists after 10 Premier League appearances, the joint-most alongside Arjen Robben, Ángel Di María, Mesut Özil, Lee Sharpe, David Ginola and Dusan Tadic. Brotherhood.

12 - Bruno Fernandes has been directly involved in 12 goals in his first 10 Premier League games (seven goals, five assists); only Mick Quinn (13) has been involved in more in a player's first 10 appearances in the competition's history. Traps.

The minute he’s rested and we drop points it will be the end of the world and asking for oles head Again, we seen it the last time Ole rested a few first teamers in the cup And he was slated for to for losing momentum and we need to keep the same team. Start strong and rest.

We may have games coming in quick succession but it’s not for long, im
Hoping he continues to start strong

This is still his first half season against all these teams at different grounds. He was too urgent and fast for a lot of his passes and needed to slow down more. But his intentions and passes are all correct and positive and he's the first one to bust his ass to chase down the ball and regain possession.

He saw the pictures a little too fast today and it caused him to be sloppy on his passing trying to unlock the Villa defense a little too quickly. Even his missed header, he's just popping up everywhere and getting in good positions to hurt opposing teams. He's a proper 10 with all the tricks. Haven't seen this type of central midfield play in years for United.

Red Card for Casemiro!
Goal and an assist without even being good. What a fecking player this guy is.

This is probably a purple patch - midfielders don't usually average at 1.3 goal involvements per game in the Premier League. But what he offers even without those numbers is brilliant - instant chemistry with what feels like everyone in attack (dink to Martial at City, corner routine with Pogba yesterday, lay-offs for Greenwood, long through balls to Rashford), an incredible work-rate in terms of pressing and recovery runs and the creativity to unlock defences with intelligent movement and quick flicks and one-twos. And this is not counting the sense of positivity and togetherness that he's brought to the team. He's a leader and a team player, and a pretty damn good one at that.

I'm expecting him to hit 20 G+A next year, again. Form may be temporary, but class is permanent.

Teams will try their best to mark him out of the game but he‘s so good, he will find another way to score or assist.

Goal and 2 assists tonight.

Must be close to 10 pl goals, mason to?

Wonder how many times 4 players from one team have hit double figures in a season
Mason is on 9 goals in 8 starts!
Fernandes is on 7 goals and 6 assists in 10 games.

City have 5 players this season! Aguero, Sterling, Jesus, KDB, and Mahrez. Shame they’re so shit defensively and let Liverpool run away with the league.

Great player - echo what many have said. Even when he's a bit off - he's still a problem and one of the most effective players on the pitch.

Watching him more and more is great - his movement and awareness is fantastic. He's always thinking ahead and his technique is great.

Agree he needs a bit of a rest but he is the main cog in our team at the moment. He's our most important player by a mile

In an off game he won a pen, scored the pen and gave an assist. World class.

He's easily our most influential player post Fergie era. Just overall in the way the team have gone up a different level since he's came here, how he talks to everyone during the game telling them what to do etc, his work rate etc.

Yeah and we played with the double pivot, no Pogba. I don’t think we will go back to that formation and drop Pogba.
Pogba wont' adversely affect how Bruno operates in the big games in my opinion. Bruno also played vs Chelsea, assisted for Maguire and hit the post. I'm fine with his low pass completion - he tries audacious passes because the other 2 midfielders are safer on the ball. It's fine against Norwich and it's fine against City.

As SAF used to say to his players even in big games, "just do something great that will get me off my feet". As I said earlier, even in wasteful games he's racking up an assist or goal (or both) in every game. And even if he's not, he's massively influencing the build up play to goals.

Shame the header didn't go in but such a goal threat. A few things I like. I like how he won the penalty. Few would have got a penalty from that position but his intelligence was very good. His little touches are mostly effective but he just wants to score. He doesn't seem to settle and take it easy. In terms of our mentality, we've taken two steps forward with him. We're now not happy we won 0-3 vs VIlla but saying it could have been 5/6 maybe even 7. Just wonderful to see and the confidence other players have in him. Even if he has a poor game by his standards, there will (9/10) always be moments of quality that will lead to a goal or a chance.

Even in average game, he is still productive. This isn't luck, he's just that kinda player. He could have had another assist too with Martial.
It's been a blessing to have him in the team

Hugely impressive start.

begs the question, why didn’t we buy him in that summer window when Spurs almost got him?

my own thoughts are that we couldn’t afford the extra money that window, we’d already allocated our budget. When we did buy him we were told that the money had come from this windows budget. So we will have to wait and see how that pans out

I also caught him just talking to Martial/Pogba when a wayward pass didn't work. They were both walking away from him but he kept talking

Also in the passes that go off, if you see his reaction, he looks mega pissed. Not like hands on hips embarrassed look, but an angry waving of arms looking angry oneself. He's the type of guy that will try that much more if a pass doesn't work out. He won't go into his own shell.

Yep his work rate and movement will stop him being marked out of the game.

If they crowd the centre then he will move to the side or stand up front. Good players cannot be marked out of the game unless you double mark, but then that lets our other attackers even more room.

This is why having a threat from every side is so important.

He's certainly a world class talent and we are blessed to have signed him. I imagine a-lot of teams scouted him over the years and you would wonder why no one tried to sign him before we got him.

He is just phenomenal, you can't keep him out of the game or shut him down. He will find a way to do something during a game, his tenacity is just ridiculous, running throughout the game and a genuine leader.
He kept talking to Martial and I also saw him advising or explaining things to Greenwood during the water break.
He is a real leader on and off the pitch.
Love him!

some salty replies
Wow, they call it "dive" when there is a full contact on his leg. If one thinks the pen is soft then ok, I can hear that but that's not a dive  Really people have been brainwashed by stupid pundits who have this binary take on pens, either a foul or a dive.
