Not that impressed, huge amount of money, aging, injury record is worrying.

I am not normally a doom and gloom poster, but in all honesty cant find anything good about this signing, but lets see how he does, he could be the sort of player we need right now.

I’m not happy about this signing at all, if he’s not good enough for PSG why are we giving him a two year contract. Going to be struck with him paying high wages next season. Do we ever learn.
I also don’t see this as an Ole transfer it doesn’t suit what he was doing in the market. Who the hell chooses these type of transfers and hands contacts out like lucky bags.

I'm perplexed by the delusion many are showing in this thread. Are you guys that desperate to clutch at any possible positives or are you being genuine in your admiration for Cavani?

I'd have no problem with this signing after an efficient and proper transfer window, in which we had sorted our main issues within the squad and were looking for valuable deals in the last days.

It's just failure after failure for Woodward, Judge and everyone else responsible. Must be nice to be a millionaire and totally suck at the most important aspect of your job.
I think this deal can only make sense if it's on a pay as you play basis.

An injury free 34 year old Cavani is a good player.

An injury prone 34 year old Cavani is just a waste of money and throwing money down the drain.

What a shit signing. A 33 year old on massive wages, when his best years are now a good 3+ years behind him. Sign a proper right winger (there ARE other options than Sancho out there, Ed & Matt! Trust me on this!) and Greenwood can be the backup striker.

Long live the project! Building towards a strong tomorrow by signing young and hungry players! fecking hell the state of this club.

1+1 deal is very good for us. If successful extend him. If not just get rid. No big deal. Smart business.

Exactly. It's a solid signing.
I mean it's obvious: Remember the amount of times in RedCafe team selector, you know Martial needs a rest, but see Ighalo is the only other option .... so you have to pick Martial again!!

Cavani is a much better pick than Ighalo, no matter his age!

He's been pushed out of PSG to be fair, his future was decided when he decided to row with Neymar.

Not going to judge too soon, but considering he had injury issues last season I am worried about this. On the other hand, we need some attacking reinforcements, having something is better than nothing I guess.

Hope this turns out more Zlatan and less Falcao.

Stinks of desperation and highlights the obvious - Ed woodward is fecking clueless. This is the best we can do really? I hope Ole resigns - let Woodward take over the glazers wouldn’t care as long as they get their dividend.

awful signing, huge wages + agent fee, injury prone 33 year old never played in prem. incompetence of the highest order that flies against everything we have said about future signings. This club will be lucky to finish in europa spots. pathetic.

I’m fine with Cavani, suggested him before we got ighalo. He can teach the young uns how to work hard and how to head.

now we need people who can cross above knee height, that kid from Uruguay and telles might do the trick

The irony in this is, it’s fans like yourself, who are detrimental to the club going forward.
Martial and Greenwood will be our strikers going forward. He is just a backup like Origi at Liverpool. This is a shrewd short term signing.

And I thought we'd be stringent in these Covid times.
I can understand us not bringing in Sancho in a 100 million plus deal but you dont go out and pay a 33yrs old, injury prone Cavani for 9 million for 2 campaigns.

200k a week for an aging squad player seems madness to me. Ighalo's is bad enough. My backup strikers would be Rashford and Greenwood and use the Cavani money to get the Sancho deal done. I'd prefer to strengthen RW/LB/CB than a backup striker.
Sancho's also coming. Chill.

Interesting signing. Proven goalscorer and gives us much needed depth. 33y old yes, but only little over 1.5 years contract. And a free transfer. Im ok with this. Better than nothing.

How do you know it’s £9m? Do you all believe Trumps tweets as well?

It's a one year deal with the option for two.
