Azpilicueta is like Ander Herrera with his reactions
Definitely conned the ref there..

The refs shouldnt let player reactions influence their decision.. especially now with VAR.. if they get it wrong and dont flash a red, there is someone to check. Its a lot harder to overturn a red

Pretty dire half of football. Interesting comparison between that tackle and the Shaw one, Shaw one was worse I reckon or at least much more contact.

Should be an easy second half against 10 anyway.

The flying foot didn’t connect with Azpilicueta, but the intent was there to break legs, so it was a clear red. That sort of challenge just shouldn’t be in football or more players like Souness or Revie’s Leeds will spring up, and I love a good old studs down ball and man cruncher.

Oh and did anyone notice that 8 year old looking wannabe hard man Mount go in to confront Robinson? What an irritating moment and guy.

I think it was a correct red card - It was too dangerous a tackle. It does not matter how much he hits the Chelsea player in that case. It was a ruthless tackle.

The more I look at the tackle the more I think it's a red. What on earth is he doing throwing himself into a tackle like that? Completely unnecessary and now his team are facing an uphill battle..

Chelsea look proper shit.

They had a 5 minute period halfway through the half where they had a few chances but other than that Fulham looked comfortable.

11 vs 11 I'd have fancies Fulham to get at least a point but now Chelsea should win comfortably.

Azpilicueta was completely embarrassing.

The moment I saw his reaction, I knew there was nothing wrong with him.

That said the red card was the correct decision.

Can a ref ask to have a look at the monitor?

I think if I was reffing a game, and someone made a meal of a challenge to the extent he does there, I'd want to have a look just to see I wasn't being conned. In this case, you probably would give a red after looking at it but you'd definitely be booking Azpilicueta as well.

Like a angry little puppy. Can't even get you to get mad at him.

Take your bias out that's a red. That leg he dived in with could have broken a leg. It was a lunge.

Dont think itll be that easy. You will need actual attacking patterns to break them down

That's a really stupid and reckless tackle? In today's game thats a red all day long.

Lucky Frank. That tackle saved him, Fulham dominated the last 15 minutes of the half. Chelsea will probably win comfortably now and the media darling will get his praise

Good. Nothing better than keeping Lampard at his job. Might prevent Chelski from going for a good manager

I think the concern is you need Fulham to go down to ten to look like you'll get anything from the game and you seem okay with that..

Reckless, dangerous and with full force. Even if he don't catches him with studs he catches him with knee. Straight red. Nothing to complain about.

Take out the reaction and it's never a red. Jamie Redknapp said it best, during his time it's a yellow at worst.

Fulham will still get points out of this.

Its a bit stupid isn’t it. The ref is forced to make a split decision and then someone else has to tell him he might have made a mistake and needs to look again.

Would be so much easier to blow for a foul and just go straight over to the monitor without the pressure of already having shown a red. It would probably be even quicker than it is now.

Now that Fulham are down to 10 men, maybe our manager will finally have the balls to drop a central midfielder and play 4231 with Pulisic, Ziyech and CHO behind Giroud. Doubt it, but it would be great.

Well, doing what some players did in 80's it would be almost 4-5 red cards every game if it happened today. Back then it was just "up and play".
