Rashford knew exactly where is he going to run and then boom. Like how players are getting his run.

It's not that hard once you trust the guy.

Which is the worst possible place for the ball to land? Not in front of a defender but behind them, close enough to goal but sufficiently far away for the keeper not to claim it. Stick it there and rest assure Edi will make it just in time.

Pleased hes signed up but we still need striker long term. Probably means we don't go for Kane or Haaland now. Is short term fix enough?

Fully expecting us to go for Haaland when Edi leaves next summer, if that fails and Kane pushes to leave then could see us going for Harry later in the window instead but he would have to push for it

It’s a superb move from the club.
We will never, ever, get Kane this summer. And Haaland will with high probability be sold next summer.
I do think we will be priced out of the Haaland signing tough, but that’s another matter.

I do think Kane will push for it. Not sure what club but can anyone afford Leveys prices?

Very happy about the contract but can I ask a question?

How do we know that he wont just age and go a bit missing from our squad after ageing in to another season like Matic kind of did?

Considering so many fans wants us to be title challengers (and winners) next year - can we really go with Cavani as our main striker?

you can’t - but hopefully the manager sees his fitness day in day out.

Matic didn’t decline overnight, it’s been pretty steady.

you are right in that we can’t have him as a main or only striker… to challenge for the title we need Cavani plus a rejuvenated Martial (I’m not convinced) or a new striker.

You can never be sure what will happen however; we all watch matches, Cavani still makes some high intensity sprints and not just to attack, he is there defensively too.

He may struggle with injuries, but a combination of Cavani, Martial, Greenwood, Rashford seems enough to me if we sign a Sancho.

It gives opportunities for Greenwood and the like to get more from Cavani and gives us another year to find a long term no 9.

His game doesn't rely on pace, so that's one big difference right there. Matic is supposed to protect our back line and control the midfield, very hard to do without legs.

Would say someone needs to upload the vid of Edi trying to sing his chant but it's off MUTV and for obvious reasons many of us do not subscribe to North Korean propaganda

there is simply no place for Martial if we sign a Sancho

Cavani isn’t going to play every week so Martial will probably be kept as his back up. If we sign Sancho it’s Greenwood and most probably Rashford that will be trading places.

On Cavani the movement for his goal was incredible. I really do hope Greenwood, Martial and Rashford are taking notice.

He has the physical part and the skills, the concern for me is if he can stay injury free. He has been injured quite a lot lately and those things normally don’t get better with age.

I think it is necessary that he has pace and stamina for both counters and to press high. This season he has showed he is as good as the youngsters in that aspect. Ok maybe not the sam blistering speed, but pretty fast and good work capacity.

20 goals by the end of the season? Including a hat trick in the Europa final

It's a fair point, but I think a one-year extension mitigates against that danger (a 3-year contract would have been ill-advised.)

Does anyone think he should bury that kind of chances more often? He had similar chances in past games and shot straight at people.

I don't mean he is shit. But, I feel like he lacks composure (or accuracy) with his feet in situations like that. Burying some of those chances would make a difference in tight/big games, obviously and it may be why people think he misses a lot since those games stay in people's mind a lot longer.

Pretty anonymous against a poor defence last night. A game to forget.

The times I saw cavani for PSG, he did seem to miss some sitters, but it would be glossed over due to the number of chances created.
He wasnt the reason we lost (his miss was at 0-0 right and we still took the lead)

For sure.

I was commenting more about how his finishing on those chances. Sometimes, I wonder if his style of playing ( running hard ) effects it.
