Hear me out, Bruno is bad for us.
Good grief, man. Bruno has come in and given his all for the club and his teammates. He's been great for the club on and off the pitch and caused zero drama or controversy. He openly talks up United and loves being here. How can any of that be bad for us? You Pogba fanboys really are something else. I like both players, but if you can't see that one player has been a better teammate and provided more effort for this club, then you are obviously letting your biases get in the way of your judgment.

xCommunicate them all!

On a more serious note, I do believe in the usage of things like xG, xA. And very very smart people (unfortunately often for very very bad rea$on$) are continuously trying to improve them.
I saw a new stat on french TV that was about expected win percentage and the guy talking about it seemed so proud of myself

Wait what. Are you trying to tell us that you've been on French TV - in between soap/shampoo commercials that show boobs (I have no idea whether they still do that)

A new season, yet the topic remains the same. How to unlock Pogba, his best position, why he plays better for France.

The France bit is quite simple actually, the pace of play suits Pogba. International football is slow and boring, teams don't press or play with high intensity.

Pogba cannot play in a league where the CM is required to run alot, he needs to be let go for the better of Manutd.
Good post. It’s unbelievable that it has taken 5 years, 2 managers, 3 different positions, multiple formation changes and what, 7 different midfield partners, to know when someone is not good fit. Yet somehow his fans on here will say it’s Utd who haven’t used him properly. Never before has there been a player who seems to have so little responsibility for his own performances. It’s always Pogba needing xyz to get the best out of him. Let’s just move on.

In the PL, he doesn’t get the time he needs to maximise his YouTube highlights.

You know what I find quite interesting, every time we play Pogba in a 2, we look so open. I mean its no surprise why, he is a very poor footballer off the ball.

You cannot be a CM who only likes to have the ball. How many times has Pogba been bullied of the ball? How often does he get dribbled past? How often does he lose a 50/50, all too often in midfield.

He needs to be dropped.

Class. Changed the game for us. Really put on a shift and gave it all his efforts.

We have a bloody world cup winner on the bench. And that's where he should be considering his inconsistency and lack of drive.

What exactly McT does which Pogba can't do in defence? And they are day and night in attack. Pogba must play. This is crime against football to give McT advantage in front Pogba

Nothing.

Pogba is the best midfielder we have.

Another game McFred start that Pogba is brought on to win that will be spun as a game McFred started & won.

Pogba is no more a liability in midfield than those 2, they run around aimlessly provided no protection to the defence. They were horrendous against Villa & Everton, same again tonight.

He looked ready to change things and prove a point before coming on and he did just that. Against Leicester he was so lethargic, getting caught and lunging back in with terrible late tackles. He's great when he's visibly motivated, reminds of the Jose comeback to beat City at Eastlands. Many more need to be fired up though, not just Pogba. Players like Ronaldo and Cavani are so hungry and driven even at their age but it's not as infectious as you'd hope so far.

The only argument for McFred is that they provide stability. But they don't. We hand over goals no matter who is midfield. I don't really see the point in benching Pogba if we're just as likely to get scored on either way.

He goes back and forward for 90mins, tracks, defends set pieces and also lays off the simple pass to his team mates. He doesn’t ever really get caught on it.

I’m not a McT fan but if Pogba did those things and a bit of the classy stuff he’d be by far the best midfielder in the league

The lie detector determined, that was a lie.

This is what I’ve been saying for ages, we will concede regardless so give yourself a chance on the ball cause we’re fecked off it anyway.

On the ball? Did you see him last weekend:lol: we may as well. We are going to concede anyway. Jesus. At least let the manager try and strike a balance and not go kamikaze just to suit fans of one player

I’d wager at this point of the season he already has more assists than McFred will muster all season. I saw McFred versus Villa, Everton & tonight.

If the possibility to ‘strike a balance’ was there then fine but we’ve seen countless times recently that the ‘balance’ you speak of is more of an idea than a reality with McFred. The pair haven’t struck a balance for some time, this isn’t about being a ‘Pogba fan’ [which you get called for actually rating him as a footballer] it’s about seeing reality over concept. When we have midfielders that can strike a balance & bring quality fine, but we don’t. It’s kamikaze to play 2 all action midfielders who take no part in the action.

Now back to how well McT defends set pieces [see tonight’s 2nd goal] . . .

I think his best position has been discovered. The early sub from the bench.

Honestly though, it's great to have him as an option on the bench.

Mct isn’t nearly as good on the ball as Pogba. Nobody said he was. He’s not even as good as Fred. The fact is he gives energy and holds genuine midfield positions. He’s consistent insofar as he’ll do the dirty side of the game or at least attempt to for 90 mins and he’ll give the ball off to our better players. We can’t play the Leicester lineup and expect anything else. It’s too much attacking and standing off. There’s no urgency in our play. Nobody to win it back. One less player pressing and tracking. That balance needs to be struck but with a better baller than McT but with the same workrate. Pogba turned the game tonight but I can totally see why he didn’t start. His last game he looked bored jogging around losing the ball. Much better cameo tonight.

He's motivated when there's a chance to win something. His demeanour with us vs France is night and day.

He's a good option off the bench and it camouflages his lack of stamina.
Yeah this is a problem isn't it?

Until we can control the midfield, he shouldn't be playing full matches in our setup. He doesn't have the lungs for it.

I still reckon Fred and Pogba is probably our best midfield pair.

McTominay needs dropping.
