You don't think we're currently in a pressure situation? Playing poorly, being criticised everywhere. I think its a pretty rubbish time for a young player to start getting games.
Agree, especially when the team is not playing as a team

In an ideal world he would’ve played his last game for the club, he’s clearly decided to go, he looks gassed after 70 mins in any case and we could blood someone like Hannibal. But I think the club will want to keep going for top four until it’s impossible and that push will include senior players rather than juniors. Terrible how the season has panned out overall but it was only going to go one of two ways when we signed world class players in the summer with a third tier manager and tactics.

The hypocrisy of posters calling me out  and how silent are the other player performance threads after Saturday btw? How it should be when the whole team plays poorly.

We're at the beginning of a transition or at least we bloody well should be. If youngsters play and we don't win, what does it matter? Prize money difference between 6th and 9th place is pennies. Where's the pressure? How much worse can performances be? Even if they are bad, they were before so hardly the fault of the young player.

What's the upside? A few minutes in a handful of flat games. A few of which we'll probably take a beating in.

It's pointless.

Let Pogba and the others who dropped us in this mess see it out.

Bring young players into it next year when hopefully it's a fresh start with a very different atmosphere around the place.

we should not be offering him a new contract under any conditions, he has proven to be distinctly mediocre during his time here, injury prone, and definitely nor worth the money.

To be honest if I were him I would leave this summer too. Next contract is the last major one and he has to think about winning things over the next few years. United will be rebuilding.

Glad he’s leaving now too. It’s the right time

We should have sold him when he wanted to leave a few years back. A bad decision to keep him.

Won't have many fond memories of him sadly.

100% true.

Same goes for Lingard.

The mismanagement at United since SAF left had been frightening. The only saving grace is that United had a relatively sound foundation in order to cope with the mismanagement, Everton didn't, which is why they are flirting with relegation.

It's sad when you think about it. I will neve forget the feeling I had on his debut vs Southampton, it felt like a man vs children.
Yeah was just thinking about this game as well, not like he played amazingly either but he was just bullying them and seemed like what we'd been crying out for for years.

they will be chomping at the bit. Elanga has worked his bollocks off and shown a few quality moments as well as had a couple of bad games. I would take 9th place. We could gut the squad, focus on getting consistent in the league and fill the second 11 and squad with some of our talented youth players and see what they are made of

I think it's him who's declined tragically. He is much slower and less agile than before due to all the injuries
He is heavy, it's beyond lacking speed and agility. He looks like he is ready to play for the Varieté club de France.

He should go. A technically excellent player, but one for whom we’ve never found a proper role for. He also has to take some of the blame though. Even when we put him next to Matic and Herrera as the attacking LCM, he was inconsistent. Realistically, his best period only happened out of spite to a manager he clearly despised no longer being in charge.

I’ve never really been able to build any player-fan relationship with him either, considering his admonishment for all things United for what has seemingly been every international break for the past 5 years and blatant come-and-get-me pleas to any decent club who would listen. There have also been times where he simply has not run back. No excuse for that.

In conclusion, he’s brought more toxicity than good in his 6 years here. Sell him and build the midfield around Bruno by replacing him with a pure DM. I’d fancy a Bruno-new DM-current form Fred midfield next season under a top, progressive manager like ten Hag.

He simply is not cut out for the EPL. He should go back to Turin as the league is definitely better suited for him, it’s a slower pace, he will have that bit more time on the ball and the intensity is generally much lower. He will then shine again.

We’ve seen that proven many times recently - look at Lukaku and now Tammy Abrahams. Serie A is a much easier league. Period.

As for people talking about how well he plays for the national team, I’m not quite sure on this. When was he at his best for us? When Jose won us the Europa - he was really dynamic then, and then followed the World Cup in Russia. He was excellent, and in an excellent team with a great balance and he had Kante doing all his donkey work.

Since then, or especially lately - I don’t think he has performed that well for France in a highly competitive game for a long time. It’s all welll and good smashing South Africa or Moldova - but how good was he in recent hard games? I only remember him playing as he does for Utd - on the periphery.

He is talented no doubt but his time has come now and it’s very much a farewell as he is not the type of character that will revive this club.

Gonna be hilarious when his new club thinks they're signing this elite midfielder and Pogba turns up.

He is the single biggest disappointment of a United player ever. Utter garbage.

He can still ping a pass as well as anyone but his physical decline is massive. Even at a new club he is going to have to put some serious work in over the summer to get some of his dynamism back.

Undoubted ability, but you have to be willing to run through brick walls in this league and he's never really shown that. Hasn't been helped by a mishmash of managers but it's time to say goodbye now, culture of laziness and non physicality in the squad is our undoing.

He is playing like he knows he won't be here next season. Him, Lingard and Mata have no business being near the squad.

Sums him up when you realise he is a big step down when he comes on to replace the Injured Fred

I always liked Pogba for us before his recent injuries & in certain games he still can be one of the best in the world. However in the Premier League week in week out in a so called pressing team the ship has sailed.

He is obviously in decline now as he did start playing football in the first team very young. Similar to Rooney who by his late 20’s was feeling it.

Pogba needs to slow down in an easier league. He could still win a champions league with PSG and play the best football of his career (on paper) but his abilities won’t be the same regardless as when we signed him back initially.

Waiting for @Jeppers7 to tell us that Pogba played 60 minutes and we didn’t concede so he’s been consistently excellent.

Time to drop him from the squad altogether. Give the youth a chance. They can't be worse.

He's acting so hard to show he cares. He's just counting down the days.
