"After being with him, talking to him and having seen his first minutes in Girona, we are going to give him the necessary space to understand where he is, that he is at Sevilla and what it means," manager Quique Sánchez Flores said.

"He has to know where he is and we want to see him. We have spoken with him and we believe that he has to have some time to learn, we wanted to give him space, time for him to see things from the outside and then he will return to the squad.

"In the end they are kids who have come and suddenly land in a huge club like Sevilla in circumstances of maximum demand. And they need a bit of location. And that location may be seen better from the outside than from the inside. You should take a step to understand what we want.

"Let's see if the boy applies himself and I think that in the end he will understand perfectly what we want."

No offense to the poster, but apart from his post, there’s absolutely no substance to this story.

Mejbri most likely than not was not registered for the Copa del Rey game, and Mariano was also not in the squad because he just returned from injury
Shooss.h, you cannot be talking common sense on these threads.
It's not common sense at all.

"After being with him, talking to him and having seen his first minutes in Girona, we are going to give him the necessary space to understand where he is, that he is at Sevilla and what it means," manager Quique Sánchez Flores

^ to suggest he's not made a bad impression would just be dumb.

We shouldn't loan them any more players
Agreed & I would go as far as to suggest that United should be encouraging these talanted youngsters to be a regular part of our matchday squard instead of sending them out on-loan left right & centre, as they could then cause some of our so-called first-team to improve certain aspects of their game, as you can't beat having competion for 1st team places as it makes everyone really up their game & if we're honest about it this has not been the case eversince, Sir Alex' retired & im guessing each of these 5 managers have had The Glazers in their ear telling them to send kids out on loan.

Sevilla twitterati are saying a player miscontrolled a ball in training and Mejbri laughed at him. Seville senior players kicked off and there was a big argument

Just bring him back and get him a loan elsewhere to a place that’s not filled with prima donnas.
Situation sounds like overblown shite. Which doesn’t surprise me given the way their players carry on whenever we have the misfortune of playing them.

Not exactly surprising that Hannibal thinks he is much better than he is given how ridiculous that unveiling video was for tunisia.

Hopefully he sorts himself out and we get a decent fee in the summer. He doesn't have enough talent to succeed for what we want to be, but now also sounds like he probably doesn't have the mentality for it either.

This is a Hannibal problem, not a Sevilla problem...
Yeah

And it's also embarassing for us. Our grown-ass players act like petulant toddlers. Complete lack of basic discipline.

We are like a family whose children cause a mess when in public and everybody raises eyebrows saying "has nobody taught them how to behave?"

Mejbri is definitely at fault, but allowing him to go to Sevilla was very stupid anyway.

He’s most likely not making it here, so this transfer should’ve been all about maximising his transfer value and keeping general PR about the player high. Instead we let him join a side playing in the top tier of Spain fighting to stay up.

Should’ve pushed him to look at a weaker league so he would get consistent game time.

Soft as feck Sevilla players taking their frustrations out on a kid. Imagine being frozen out because of this.
feck them, no wonder they are where they are when the manager caves like this

Not being there makes it impossible to judge, but sounds to me like Hannibal forgot for a second he wasn't at Carrington and this banter fell flat...hardly something to destroy the kid over.

 It’s like I always said but no one wanted to accept. He’s making it nowhere near the highest level of the game. He is the same petulant child that was publicly criticised by our u21s manager and told to shape up. He didn’t take the message and hasn’t changed one bit.

Went to the Championship and was roundly praised for his attitude and application, but suddenly at Sevilla he’s “too big for his boots” because he laughed after megging someone?

Sevilla are a thoroughly dislikable club to be honest. He’d have been far better off going to Everton and Dyche for the season.

I don't know what he did but within what, a week or 2 of joining Sevilla they release a statement saying he won't be considered for selection for the foreseeable future? That's shit attitude.

Sounds like he megged someone, laughed and then there was a fight because your man got salty and kicked off.

Exactly. Flip this around.
United have 3 wins all season, one point above relegation and we get a young player in on loan to replace the shit we’re seeing every week. The player lets out a wee laugh at how shit our player was at controlling a pass and the underperforming players get salty and freeze out the player who is literally brought in help stop the club getting relegated.
I can’t even say he’s ill disciplined since the club is ruled by Ten Hag who has had players complain about how rigid he is with disciplinary issues.
There’s fans here who shit on Ten Hag for how he treated Sancho who will jump in the player for this nonsense

Seriously, who at the club is responsible for diligencing potential loan destinations for our players?

Seems like we always pick the clubs that are the absolute worst possible fit for each player.

Just an opinion or guess work if you like.

We have had a lot of mention about players and attitudes etc for a while now. Recent ex managers, Ronaldo all said similar.

ETH was lauded for his treatment of players at Ajax. Basically not taking any crap from them.

We have had lots of people call for Hannibal to get more games time. But instead of increasing his minutes on the pitch decreased, or so some arguments went.

Is it possible that maybe the lad does have an attitude problem or the like? Maybe explaining why he didn't get the game time and why ETH was happy for him to go to Seville?

So he laughed at a teammate after he either megged him or said player miscontrolled the ball?

In most walks of life, if you laugh at a workplace colleague for making a mistake in front of everyone then you'll be on the shitlist, especially if yo do it in the first week or two of starting there

It's concerning that's for sure. I don't know if Hannibal has attitude problems, but usually in the first few weeks you just learn from your new colleagues and listen carefully, get to know the new environment and start to understand the company's culture and values.

Daft response from Sevilla for me, sounds like a poisonous atmosphere. Bring him back if at all possible and stop dealing with the Club.
