I still think he’s a great coach. What we saw at Ajax was everything we wanted, he ticked every box.

Yet currently we’re playing like a bunch of individuals that met for the first time in the tunnel.
That bolded part (reputation of a good coach he got at Ajax) seems to be the reason some people still believe in ETH. I can't believe anyone watching United games for the past year seriously considers him as a good coach though. We've seen enough.

Only the 3rd time a team has had above 80 touches in the opposition box in a PL game.

Embarrassing

So so bad, gotta laugh to keep me from crying
This was beyond unprofessional, I would sack EtH for this performance alone. We had absolutely no clue on how to deal with Brentford’s direct play. Pressing was non existent, midfield as always out of shape, frantic last ditch defending and poor finishing saved us a battering.
EtH’s stubbornness is infuriating.
Not sure if it’s even stubbornness or just a basic lack of an alternative plan or idea.

Even if we won this game, I would have fired him right at full time. I wouldn't have even let him back into the tunnel. One of the worst performances from a Manchester United team in the post-Fergie era.

Regardless of what happens this season I don’t think he goes. Can we really afford 2 lots of competition? He’s out of contract at the end of next season anyway so assess over the next 6 months and then make a decision. With inspiring replacements like Southgate and O’Neill mooted I’d rather stick for the timebeing and hope we can get some consistency of selection, as more than anything this is what ETH needs - his core group to be available and not sat on the treatment table like they’ve been for the majority of the season
Are you having a laugh? this is the most deluded post I have seen. After two seasons, no obvious way of playing, has spent loads on players and giving free reign to boot players he doesnt get along with out of the club. This man should not be here regardless of how the season ends.

ANd who the hell told you lot that because we tenously get linked to someone we are getting them?

I’ve been watching Utd for 40 years and that is literally the worst performance I can remember watching. This has to be the end. Gutted as I had such high hopes but that was an absolute fiasco

Fernandes and Rashford continue to be the first names on the team sheet. How can he ask for higher standards when he lets those two be the standard bearers?

Nice try mate.
But honestly this is unbearable at this point. It's hardly football we are playing under him.
It’ll stay this way. Once in a while players will put in immense shift, they will be flying for 90 minutes, and then we will revert back to normal. We fluke too many wins/draws for him to get fired though.

Has he done his interview? Did he say we played well and we're unlucky and deserved to win?

Beyond fecking clueless. If the alternatives weren't Potter or Southgate I'd drive the cnut to the airport myself.

Can't wait to get rid of this shit clown.

Nothing has changed, can't be allowed to continue after two years of dross football.

That's it for me. The Liverpool game offered some hope, but when we (once again) follow it up with that shite? Feck off.

Besides the overall lack of cohesion, intensity and quality, there are some things I just don't understand:
- AWB at left back, Dalot at right back. How many times did AWB mess up an attack on the left with poor timing, weird runs, etc.?
- Letting McTominay stay on past half-time.
- Our pressing. What is it supposed to be? Sometimes you see the front four pressing alone, then two simple passes later the entire midfield is bypassed.

Worrying how we're still watching the game and wondering "what are they doing at training?" and "we're so easy to play again"

I feel like him saying his United team aren’t going to play like his Ajax team was an ill-advised thing to say and he lost a lot of fans with it. A lot of the reason why we wanted you was for how that Ajax team played.

Every manager post-Ferguson seems to have some fecking quote that none of the fans want to hear from the manager and it ends up putting nails in their coffins.

He's just not it, not sure what people are arguing about anymore.

It would be a terrible sign for the Ratcliffe structure if he's not sacked at the end of the season.

It’s exactly the remit of the coach to make the team look like a team, not like a collection of individuals. In fact seeing a collection of individuals on the pitch is the very definition of a lack of adequate coaching. The fact we are seeing this nearly two years into his tenure, says that he is either a terrible coach, or he’s lost the dressing room as a result of being ill suited or ill equipped for a job of this stature and scope.

Whichever one is true, it doesn’t matter, he needs to be fired.

How can Sir Jim who is supposed to be a Utd fan watch that absolute embarrasment of a performance and still feel Erik is still the man to take the club he has invested £1.3bn in forward?

What you saw in ONE Champions League Semi-Final run in which they blew a 3-0 lead at home. I have never rated the guy and I was one of the few who were not thrilled with the appointment. Total disaster.

Ok, and who comes in to replace him then?
Ted Lasso.
He was never a great coach. He looked promising at Ajax at most and I thought so too. Turns out this is too big for him
There are a lot of facets to a good manager and he has none of them.

SAF understood the personalities of his players and what each of them needed, from being shouted at to putting an arm around him and being more gentle.

I don’t feel that ETH has that in his locker. Pretty sure the players don't believe in his system, in fact nobody does.

The definition of insanity is trying the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

WTF is wrong with starting with Mainoo and Amrabat. FFS - it must be worth a shot.

Find a way to win. Starting McT definately isn't it.
