How about bringing someone younger who is adept at playing all across the front line at good level might need some scouting but would be better option in long run .
Yeah someone who can play across the front line would be a real asset, however there is also a part of me who wants to see Toney in Utd shirt but no one plays two strikers anymore

The Glazers would have told Richard Arnold and John Murthough to spend 100m on this guy. We would have given him a 250k/week contract. He would have had a promising start, benching Hojlund, until he was found gambling again and getting a 1-year ban. Hojlund would have lost his form and we would be in deep crisis again.

Thanks INEOS this won't happen.

He plays like he thinks he’s as good as Zlatan.

Hes not.

9 shots 0 on target.

The post shot counts as off target. So lets give him that one, close to scoring 1 but had the chances for a hatrick

I remember matches like this for Cole and Forlan, fortunately for Cole he often found the net with that many chances but I recall "Cole needs ten chances to score" banter back in the day. Are there any similarities to Cole in Toney's style?

Yes. The United Cole that worked a bit more for the team than his huge goalscoring season at Newcastle before we bought him. He still played well but he was playing in a front 2 we dont play and you would expect him to have got plenty of those shots on target

He’s a good striker. He’s a bit of a twat with a massive ego, though. Definitely had blinkers on tonight to bag against a big team and continue his “Big Dog” gimmick

Deserves a shot at a top side, tried a bit too hard in front of goal tonight but again a constant menace.

That play for the goal was great, they should give it to him into feet more, Wissa seemed to get the ball below head height a lot more

And I like that about him. Not quite Brendtner who thought he was the second coming, but a solid striker who won't be fazed by the occasion, and one who backs himself against most defenders in this league.

100% take him!

Impressive player. Unlucky not to get a goal yesterday. I’d take him at the right price.

Those same blinkers created a wonderful assist

He’s a good player but too expensive for us, be pretty ridiculous to have one of hi or Højlund in midfield next season and still be watching Mctominay in midfield most weeks.

He is a better player than Hojlund but you will hear our fans shouting that we dont have to bring him
We don't have to bring him in. We have other positions that we need to reinforce more urgently. He's also a lot older than hojlund so it's no surprise he's a more rounded cf at the moment. I'll never understand the need to praise other players by shitting on ours.

I agree he’s better, but if Brentford want £70m or more it might not be the right move, considering we have to spend significant resources on rebuilding the midfield.

Except Hojlund is not ready to lead the line, he has more poor games than good ones and can easily be neutralised. In truth, he should be a back up, Hojlund I mean

Oh trust me I know. We are in big big trouble because the whole defence aside Dalot may be needs a rebuild, our entire midfield needs a rebuild and our attack needs a rebuild. Where do we go from here

There are only 5 teams that have scored less than Utd.

Zero goal difference.

Absolutely. It starts with the midfield though. If they could protect the defense and connect the play, our entire team would look better. We need improvements in all areas, but a few quality midfielders would make a big difference.

Absolutely, would not mind spending the entire summer budget on two very good midfielders and get a manager who is capable of giving an identity to this team
