I feel like people are over exaggerating his form last season. From what I remember he started slow, hit a good patch, went out a bit, hit that good patch to get us the cup, then like everyone else finished like shit as we limped thru the end. Felt like half the season he was either suspended or in poor form. Hardly a stud all yearMadrid recouping £60m and replacing him with Tchouameni and Camavinga is how we should really be run.
Was fantastic last season, but it's crazy how slow and out of sorts he has looked this season. Big decision needs to be made in the summer.
I think that may be a bit of recency bias creeping in, but i understand where you're coming from.I feel like people are over exaggerating his form last season. Being around 30 doesn't explain such a drop off in performances.I warned against the signing when it happened but many seemed to become defensive as he was apparently the best defensive midfielder in the world. To be fair he was really good for the first 8 months but this is the risk when you spend 60m on a 30/near 30 year old. I know people mock this phobia but it makes absolute sense given the room for error with these signings is minimal.
Many players fall off with age and injuries. Especially in a new league and difficult team.Being around 30 doesn't explain such a drop off in performances.
This is it, playing sn immobile dm in thus basketball madness doesn't helpI actually laughed when he tried some crazy tackle at one point and the commentators were genuinely bewildered by what he was doing. They've obviously not seen much of him this season.
The one thing I will say is that we signed this guy who excelled at an elite level in a particular system, just as his legs were going. We've then asked him to try and cover even more ground than he did in his prime. It's just stupid and I can't blame the guy for what we're seeing, he's hung out to dry like anyone else that plays the lone midfield role for us. Ask him to defend compact spaces with a well organised team around him doing their bit, and we'd probably see a different player.
I think he was trying way too hard to make an impression yesterday. The needless going to ground on about 4/5 occasions, the busting out of position to close down the wrong guy, even the hopeful long balls which are a bit of a penchant of his game that he's been dialling up to eleven. I was surprised it took us so long to haul him off. He was headless. McTominay was far better when he came on, and he arguably lost us the game. What the hell was that. Not even trying anymore
Camavinga was there when Casemiro played for themMadrid recouping £60m and replacing him with Tchouameni and Camavinga is how we should really be run.

I think he's trying but his body isn't responding. What the hell was that. Not even trying anymore
He probably is fit to play at this level, just not as what he's known himself to be over the last decade. He needs to learn how to play as a veteran if he's still gonna be useful here. He reminds me of Batman getting his arse handed to him in the first act of Dark Knight Rises. He plays like a younger man.Another dreadful performance in a long series of dreadful performances this season.
Like the poster above I do think he’s trying but he’s just not fit to play at this level anymore. The problem is the only alternative we have is Amrabat who is also gash.
That's a crazy statementSorry but he is a worse signing than Antony. Just terrible
It could very well end up not being so though, Antony has a small chance of improving, Casemiro is done, his legs have goneThat's a crazy statement
United and thinking in the same sentenceUnited signed him thinking he would be like Fernandinho (who City signed at 28) and still played great at 34-35.
At least there is a decent chance of a Saudi transfer for Casemiro. It could very well end up not being so though, Antony has a small chance of improving, Casemiro is done, his legs have gone
That assumes he wants to go there and I'm not so sure we'd be getting the kind of fee some folks seem to think we would, that mad spending spree seems to have stopped nowAt least there is a decent chance of a Saudi transfer for Casemiro.
