Wan Bissaka playing left back for his defensive skills against whoever the feck it is Brentford play on the right wing but then being switched to right back when it's Cole Palmer there is a very odd call. After seeing how shite Malo Gusto was defending Dalot and Garnacho I sort of got it but then Cucurella was doing even worse so...

I think Bruno been Meh to awful this season but I don’t want him gone, he’s clearly playing through injuries and hasn’t had a proper rest for a long time, he needs to be told that he will be an important part of the club going forward but he will be demoted to Vice Captain and United will be buying a young Attacking midfielder to learn from him, helping him with his playing time.
I’m sorry I’m a huge Marcus fan, but it’s clear he doesn’t want to be here, he’s a private lad and maybe just wants to be less in the limelight. We must make some huge decisions this summer and the second biggest after sacking ETH is to sell Marcus Rashford. PSG will not get Raphael Laeo this summer but Marcus could easily be bought for £100m, yes we demand £100m as he has 4 years left on his contract.

We should already be talking to Julian Naigelsman, his stock will go up after the Euros mark my word. He’s available now, we should tell him he can decide now who he wants the club to pursue as transfer targets but the club will be selling the following; M Rashford(80m),
M Greenwood(30m), Casemiro(30m), DVB(5m), F Pellistri(10m), Varane(Released), Amrabat(Sent back), Martial(Released), V Lindelof(15m), T Malacia(Released), B Williams(5m), F Pellistri(12m) - (12 players/£175m)

Tell him he can decide on the following player's; H Maguire, Eriksen, S Mctominay, J Sancho, Hanibal, AWB and Antony but we need to be wary of the homegrown rule. Possibly sells Eriksen, Scott , Hanibal and Antony
For another £70m
Explain we will add £245m to the £175m generated and he has £ transfer budget but he must be in line with who we are currently looking at plus any recommendations he has including a potential new captain.

Summer Transfers
Naigelsman / New Coach
J Kimmich / New Captain CM/DM/RB- £60m

J Branthwaite/ CB - £65m
J Todibo /CB - Loan to buy £40m (7m)
J Frimpong /RB - £35m
M Guitetez /LB -Loan with an obligation £25m(3m)
R Barkley (Free)

A Onana DM - 50m
J Neves or. F Wirtz /AM/RW/LW - £95m
M Olise/ RW - £50m
I Toney / CF - £65m
Total £430m

This will never happen in a million years but that’s how radical INEOS would have to be this summer ;

Starting 11 of ;
4231 formation
A Onana J Frimpong , Branthwaite, Martinez, Shaw
Kimmich(DM/CM), K Mainoo/DLP/CM), Bruno, F Wirtz, Toney, Garnaucho

second 11
A Bayinder, D Dalot, J Todibo, H Maguire, M Gutierrez, A Onana(DM), R Barckley(CM), M amount(AM), Olise, Hojlund, Sancho

This will never ever happen but this is what’s needed, Naigelsman as national coach would have a great chance of recruiting Kimmich and F Wirtz.
For this outlay we could probably sign Wirtz and Joao Neves. Throw in Joao Gomes and a couple of CB's and we have a completely new spine.

I wouldn't spend a single penny this summer on wingers or full backs, let's fix the spine of the team that operates full on paraplegic. Chelsea spent that money and bought like 10 players and it's been an absolute mess. No coach would want to walk into that type of insane turnover.

I fell of the De Zerbi hype a bit this season because of the results, but watched them vs Liverpool and they're so far ahead of us in terms of being a modern team. MacAllister and Caicedo leaving, Ferguson and Pedro's goals drying up have made this season very difficult for them.

Nagelsmann, Tuchel, Enrique, Amorin.. even Unai Emery I think would jump at the chance to join us. At least we'd win the Europa League next season!
Exactly but Utd aren't talking to any of them seemingly and that is absolutely negligent

Very true and what many have been saying for some time now. I'm now seeing some arguments that it's not ALL Ten Hag's fault so he deserves more time. It doesn't have to be all his fault. Ultimately he's still responsible, that's literally part of the job. You can't back a manager more than pretty much any other manager has been backed and then use every excuse under the sun for him. Literally no other top club would tolerate this and here we are still thinking whether he will be sacked or not. No other top club would take an eventual cup win into consideration when making a decision like this either.

How do you know they aren’t talking to anyone? Maybe for once we are not being run buy a bunch of clowns and are quietly going about our business. The end of the season can’t come quickly enough but it’s very clear there will be massive changes prior to next season.

Funny because the manager seems to get all the credit for last season's miraculous 3rd finish and a trophy. Rarely do we ever hear about how great rashford and bruno were and all that
That's simple not true is it...Rashford was lauded with praise after last season.

A bad result vs Liverpool and Bournmouth both of which are certainly on the cards and surely ETH's position will be under question, there is no easy games for us, can easily see things getting much worse before the end of the season

Yeah we certainly do have a weak spine both in formation and mentality of the players too

I agree and we both know it’s never going to happen but we need a leader in the middle of the pitch. I could not think of a better option but the coach must have a great relationship with his captain and this is where Naigelsman and Kimmich are, a perfect choice right now, they have a great relationship.

Despite those accomplishments, the football was still generally broken and unenjoyable
Watch some of our highlights from last year again - some of the footy we played was great.

I am wary of being the dustbin for another ageing player from a top team, feels like it could be a rinse and repeat of Schweinsteiger and Casemiro again.

If we manage to offload Casemiro and bring in Kimmich for a net zero spend, that could be a decent bit of business. If we sign Joao Neves, would be a very young midfield with him and Mainoo without some experience.

Needs to be changes in manager and playing staff, however gut feeling is that it won't be both

I'd be a bit wary of this relationship, considering Nagelsmann finally kicked Kimmich out of his preferred midfield position.

I also generally would shy away from making Kimmich captain, he tends to try to take on too much responsibility on the pitch anyways, making him captain would probably only make this worse. He needs to be restricted to a specific role otherwise he loses his head. Which in a way fits perfectly what we say right now at United, but isn't really what should be the way forward.

I absolutely agree on the need for change in both and massive changes needed. It’s not a band aid approach needed but a sledge hammer.

Yes. And Kimmich performs worse when you ask him to be a leader. He is an elite performer as part of a team, not as its leader.

Not often you get a decent caller on a TalkSport show, but this guy came with the facts....

Bayern are doing terrible after sacking Nagelsmann, PSG still haven’t won the CL, Chelsea are lower in the league than us and Juventus haven’t won a title since sacking Sarri. Whats the argument ? That we aren’t Real Madrid. Getting rid of our “greatest ever player” was down to the fact Ronaldo couldn’t be arsed running and instead wanted to go home at half time. Also considering Ronaldo is now playing in the Saudi league it’s hardly shown Ten Hag to be wrong.

He plays the same team that lost against Liverpool 7 - 0 in the next match. Well we won the next match 3 - 0. Our Captain who complains all the time(Watch some old Keane clips)is our best player.

Whatever the guy said about Rashford is genuinely embarrassing and Ten Hag has clearly at times had a positive effect with his subs.

If people want to argument Ten Hag should be sacked then just stick to the stats.

Suggestions, because this is a key part to the restructure, the club needs a leader to calm things down in times of crisis like last night.

Yes we can bring in and replace the whole spine, Bremner at CB, Kimmich at CM, Toney at CF, not only ones played in the PL and does Bremner speak Portuguese or English. This is why I want Toney, for all his s…housery, he’s a leader, nasty, physical pain in the ass to the opposition whose Ego feels that it belongs on the biggest stage, We must improve the spine on this we agree but we need a captain as well.

Fred, Weghorst and Sabitzer all had work rate at least last season, take them out and you see huge gaps in our midfield!

Weghorst clearly not a United players but he did his and Rashford work, Fred made Casemiro look better for club and country and Sabitzer was a far better squad option than Amrabat and he would have cost the Club £5m more for a permanent transfer.

We need 2/3 PL proven elite Physical, Mobile midfiel players. I would get Onana from Everton, Ross Barkley on a free and Jao Gomez from Wolves. That will cost £100m minimum.

Liverpool were shite last season because their midfield was completely disfunctional, Klopp bought Macalister , Endo, , Szoboszlai and Gravenberch for a combined fee of €172m or £150m.

This year they are Title favourites and will increase their point tally by 20 to 25 points.

I actually don't even know anymore.

The main issue with replacing a manager is usually a lack of viable options, but by all accounts there are some decent options available this summer?

What have we got to lose?
Exactly. theres loads of managers out there. I’ve always hated the ‘we cant sack him because who do we get’ narrative because
a) hes lost the plot and the dressing room and has proved not up to the job
b) when Klopp leaves in the summer are Liverpool going to just fold the club because ‘who else’ or are they just going to try and move on? Top clubs change managers all the time. In our league Klopp and Pep have been outliers to the trend for obvious reasons and Arteta was lucky to keep his job but to be fair to him he played a certain way from the start and it was obvious players had to be signed to replace the ones who werent good enough which probably bought him some time.

ETH has basically abandoned everything within 12 months and has us playing kick and rush. Its over

Having had the day to consider, I really end up just feeling bad for ETH. The pummeling he's taken - at least in regards to last night - is absolutely ridiculous. We're frustrated as fans, but we should (still) be frustrated with the United hiearchy, not ETH.

Firstly, dispell with the BS: ETH has not been 'backed unconditionally in the market' or 'backed more than any other manager'. That's simply not the case. Manchester United have spent a f*ck ton of money, that does not equat to the manager being backed. No one believes he wanted Casemiro, or even that type of player. He didn't want to wait until the league had started to overspend by 60m on Antony. And if you literally just take those two things out, he's basically right in the pack in terms of spend. He's also had to deal with what, 4 random loans because he's been 'backed'? Please. He stepped into a sh*t show. Further, as I posted earlier, he had to get rid of an absolute load of dross, and has taken us from the highest wage bill in England to the 4th.

Okay fine you say, but look at the football! What the hell is this donut formation, why are we giving away more shots than anyone else? Well I challenge the great minds of Redcafe - who exactly do we bring into solidify the midfield? Mainoo is mighty talented, but he's a child, and not very defensive. Casemiro looks to have retired. Eriksen has even less legs left than that. McTominay is a proven non-midfielder. I guess Amrabat? Another bargain bin player we were forced to loan.

Okay fine you say, but what about tactics! Look at City v Arsenal this weekend, and how both teams basically don't conceed chances, we should do that! Alrihgt, explain to me how you do that with our defence. Because both systems are predicated on squeezing the pitch into nothing, because your back 4 is both able to handle pace and also consistent and well-drilled. We basically don't have a back 4 anymore. We have Diogo Dalot on one side, and whatever other 3 players are able to escape the medical room. So am I shocked when in the 99th minute of what should have been at most a 95 minute match, Dalot makes stupid decisions? Of course not, the poor kid is the most over-played player outside of Bruno in our squad. And again, who should he of brought on to sure up LB? I think ETH has looked at what he has available and (rightly) ascertained that there is no combination of midfielders and defence that control a match available to him. So it's chaos.

The bottom line is that football is played by eleven footballers. For almost this entire season, ETH hasn't been able to play more than 6 or 7 of his preferred footballers, and make it through a match.

What I think will happen is that we'll get rid of him, and he'll go somewhere with an actual squad of decent players, and suddenly look like the next big thing again. And we'll have Graham f*cking Potter or dear god Southgate pushing his pashun.

Basically Ole all over again. Both of them seriously lack tactical acumen.
I get the spirit of this comment, but disagree with the statement. If anything, Ole was pretty conservative and really played to our strengths as a counter attacking side. I never minded the fact that we were counter attacking, but some fans hated it. When Ronaldo came in and he tried to change our style of play, that’s when we cratered.

It seems Ten Hag sets us up tactically in a way that flies in the face of results, possession, xG, xGA, shots, control, eye test, pretty much every way we use to evaluate performances. It’s stubborn, impossible to execute and just downright arrogant. Ole was a pragmatist. Ten Hag is an idealist with a straight up error riddled footballing philosophy. I contend that the latter is much worse.

Nonsense. He's at best mediocre. He's been as crap as the rest.
Talk about nonsense - I'm sure most of you don't watch the games and everything's shit rather than offering constructive criticism.

Dalot has improved this year and for the most part has been good. 1 or 2 stinkers such as last night, though.

Until you get a manager that can implement a proper 4-3-3 system and high pressing we are at nothing. Giving Bruno basically a free role is not good enough. I honestly think two proper midfielders beside Mainoo and we are a completely different side. Can play Bruno as a false nine. Hojlund was astrocious yesterday.

The season summed up in one picture. Nobody taking accountability. Nobody making the extra effort to track an open attacker. Just everyone pointing but nobody doing anything about it. The organisation has been dogshite from ETH. Its getting worse as the season progresses. I can't see how he doesn't get fired, unless there is nobody better available in the market.

I don't understand this sort of sympathetic and delusional apologist drivel.

The man is paid millions to perform far better than he is, and he must be accountable for the shambolic season. Blaming everyone but him for his failings is really weird behaviour, unless you're directly related to him.

Maybe that’s a direction we should take, ie not have a manager at all. Since he’s not responsible for squad building, fitness, trainings or literally anything that happens on the pitch, and we already employ all the people that are, we may as well shed the £4m a year or whatever he makes off our wage bill and just carry on without him.

People are so petrified at the mere suggestion of player power that they're prepared to see us sleepwalk into obscurity to protect a manager who has done nothing to earn the respect of the fans this season. It's actually sad to see, our standards as a football club have completely eroded.

Still much wrong and many players need to leave and clearly don't have the mindset to fight for trophies and play in a big club with immense pressure and or don't have the work ethic but ETH also needs to go, sad, was excited last season and really hoped he'd work out but it's clear it won't

I was just thinking about the bolded when I saw a thread on the front page saying "Why I'm happy with 6th place."

All sorts of excuses made under the sun for a badly underperforming team and manager. It's not like we're playing pretty football and losing out like late 00s-early 10s Arsenal either, we're absolutely atrocious to watch.

Leverkusen was fighting relegation last season before Alonso came in and completely turned things around in less time than ETH had.

I don't understand why there's so much desire for parts of the fanbase to defend ETH, a man with no previous connection to the club, to the absolute hilt.
