Why he is insisting on certain players is beyond me. It makes zero sense, and the same goes for his formation
I dont get why he doesnt make use of his squad and adapt his tactics and approach to the opposition we are facing.

Example, todays game, we are away to bournemouth. Why not start with a midfield 3 of Fernandes, Eriksen and Amrabat. Keep possession, take the sting out of the game. Instead he plays a "legs have gone" casemiro and over uses Mainoo which cant be good for the boy (fergie always said you had to manage the minutes of young players to avoid fatigue and burnout).

Garnacho is another one who is over used.

As a manager he seems so clueless and stuck in his ways.

I think this is the end. The wheels have really come off now. Another complete disaster at this circus of a club. A shame it ends this way, and I really wish it didn't. He tried his best, but fell short, in no small part due to the ever present rot in the foundations of this club. I wish him all the best.

I just hope a bunch of players follow him right after.

Whatever you think of Ten Hag it’s unedifying to see a manager turned on by a player who he’s supported and nurtured at the first instance of any sort of criticism.

It speaks very poorly of his character.

Indeed, a good manager can make a team greater than the sum of it's parts. What we're seeing here is the opposite, Ten Hag's lucky we have talented players that keep bailing us out.

We defend like we're playing all out attack and attack like we're playing with 10 men behind the ball. I don't think I've ever seen a team like this before, our 'plan' is the worst of both worlds

The worst manager of the lot.

The carabao cup win can get fecked if you think that absolves ETH in any way shape or form.

He has no clue how to set up a team in England, absolutely no clue. Yet people have defended his deluded tactics all season even though there hasn't even been a hint of improvement. Get rid of this fraud

Something is brewing behind the scenes.
It'll be the same crap going on that we've seen numerous times over the past decade.

Disillusioned and demotivated players and clueless management not knowing what to do. Everyone is just waiting for the dithering ownership to pull the trigger at this point

And the formation males no sense since the first day. Not benching certain players just shows that he is not a top manager

The first game of the season the signs were there. Wolves cut through our midfield, and 8 months later we're still repeating the same mistakes. He's so stubborn.

What on earth has that got to do with my criticism of Garnacho?

I assume you also defended Sancho
I pointed out you are as bad as you say Garnacho is.

 :wenger:

Never assume, it makes an ass out of U and ME.

I wanted Sancho out for ages, and never bought the mental health narrative that caftards came up with.

That just shows you don't read anything properly on this forum.

Yeah, because I remember everything everyone has ever posted. Why are you acting like I should have all your posts memorised

Bit of a strange comment.

We do have a cup final to play for, especially if Chelsea beat City. I would hope the players still stay on board for that at least.

It's pretty much over if he's lost Garnacho now. Can't believe Garnacho would lose it over those quotes though- there's barely anything there from what i recall of the interview. He just said the right side wasn't working in shape or discipline.
Who knows what was said in private though.

Give us an example of how keeping a shit manager and missing out on the CL money is better for us in the long term
Had the new owner been around for a while, there would have been no excuse. But under the circumstances, I can understand why he didn't want to rush to any sort of change within weeks of his arrival.

Looks like it's all blowing up and becoming close to that untenable time. Let's see if we can hang in there for the last month if we can get to the cup final.

If he was sacked in November like he should've been, we'd have gotten top 4.

A disgrace that this clown has been given more leeway than our own club legend Ole.
Quite possibly, after the 4-3 loss to Copenhagen is when we should have pulled the trigger.

That's not a good argument. All this could be done at the same time. It is far easier to get a manager in. The fact that SJR is on record saying we need a champions league finish this season for FFP is making them look worse. If you aren't willing to change results to get champions league don't say stuff like that in public. If he really wanted that finish he'd have sacked ETH like he did a few other members of staff at carrington.
The members of staff who left already had designated replacements and their departure probably didn't have huge effect. Replacing the manager is far bigger, especially if you're planning to base your work on several people (Ashworth, etc) but none of them are around yet.

It's very easy to a supporter to call for the manager's head. It's a little different when you're actually the one reponsible for it, and for dealing with the consequences.

To be quite honest, how can you not bottle it when having 20 odd shots against each game with a gameplan that's not making sense?

feck! I've gone full ETH out haven't I?
Yes you have :) Which is fair, because at some point manager needs to take responsibility, but whatever we think about Erik, this bunch of players are the worst and many of them have been trash under multiple managers so they are first to get the blame. There is a reason we rarely are able to sell our players for any reasonable money, if at all. Nobody wants them because they are pretty much hugely overpaid garbage

How did the team bottle it? ETH sets them up to fail every week. If it weren't for the players we'd be below 10th.
Of for feck's sake. Be mad at Ten Hag all you want, but how can you defend this bunch of miserable players (most of them, at least)

Sadly the tens of millions he cost us at that point in lost revenue meant we couldn't afford it.

Even so, the specific comments he was reacting to were so mild.

I honestly have every sympathy with Garnacho if he’s knackered as he is one player who has demonstrated a great work -rate throughout the season and it is on EtH for overplaying him but he was poor in this game and was subbed. It happens. No need for the social media stuff or the United Stand acting like it’s this massive insult to a player to be substituted.

He is going to finish the season below 60 points.

Get Potter in immediately, so he can get the rest of the campaign to know the team and to start implementing changes.

Despite Spurs best effort to give us 5th we refuse to capitalise. It's clear ETH has no idea what he's doing. Even though our tactics haven't worked all season, he refuses to make any changes. I really wanted him to work but his stubborness and delusion have ultimately been his downfall. Can't wait to see the back of him.

Again, INEOS should not be going around saying champions league is a prioity and then stick with a manager like ETH. Either sort the manager out at the same time or write the season off. Neither of which they have done.

Very difficult to see how he stays in the job. He needs to earn a go under the vaunted new structure and so far is doing a piss poor job of it. I don't think he has really addressed any of the issues we had with the squad when he took the job. Not that that's all down to him but all of his signings have question marks against them. They either have the technical skills or the physicality/athleticism but not both. We're still shite technically, are bullied all over the pitch and generally just bigtime bottlejobs.

It feels like a huge step backwards and his continued support of certain players like Rashford and Bruno is baffling. Nobody in the squad is playing to a level where they are unbenchable.
