Do these results and the likely results later today mean that any chance of the 5th EPL CL spot is gone?

Both Liverpool and West Ham need to turn their ties around, if they fail to do so Germany should be safely ahead.

I personally dont think he is, but the carry on has already started among the media and in particular social media. Whether we like it or not, he wont be able to escape the fact he went to a side that has dominated the league for 11 years and then finishes 2nd the year he arrived.

It is just a sad fact of football
It's hard to tell whether that's the majority now or the sensible ones still outweigh them. After all the dumbest are usually the loudest.

Bayern haven't been near their best for a while, and should've lost the Bundesliga last season too until Dortmund inexplicably fecked up. But that gets forgotten because "lolz kane"

I hate that my season has yet again been reduced to cheering on other teams against City and Liverpool, but I sure did enjoy that penalty shootout.

City bore me to tears. Don’t watch them anymore.
First time I have heard someone criticise how City play, but Alan Brazil did on Talksport this morning. Said they overplay. That Haaland needs to vary his game a bit more. Sometimes they need to just get a cross in and someone try to get on the end of it.

Maybe that's valid criticism, but not after yesterday. You could probably criticize them not scoring, but they did everything but that

I think at times they overplay. They have this system and sometimes you do need to go away from it. Funny how they were so wasteful last night. Also think best defenders have sussed out Haaland.

I think it was tactically brilliant from Ancelotti. City excel when there is space in behind and Madrid gave them none, they were compact and well drilled. If it weren’t for Usain Walker they would have exposed city on the counter.

Yet it was Walker who played them onside for their goal. He might be quick, but mentally he can go to sleep at times. Think quick ones do. They just think they can catch somebody up.

Think Germany just needs Leverkusen to win tonight and its done.
thanks lads, actually that could work out best for us assuming we have no chance of finishing 5th now anyway. I coming from the point of view that Dortmund need to qualify for CL next season if they have any chance of taking Sancho permanently.

I seem to remember Rudiger having a really strong game in the first leg, last season. But then was back out the team in the second leg. Its good to see he played both legs this time.

What more can we say about Ancelotti. He is just a brilliant tactician and has been the most successful manager of his time.

Wasn't that what Foden was doing, especially in the first half.
However, doing that took away his effectiveness in attack.

Now everyone thinks the final will be Real Madrid vs PSG.
Just like in 2013, when everyone thought we would see an El Classico final, when Real took on Dortmund and Bayern took on the mighty Barca.

Its CL Semi, so anything can happen. But yes:
Bayern - Real 45/55
BVB - PSG 40/60

Carlo Ancelotti has won 7 of 8 Champions League knockout rounds against Pep Guardiola (3), Jurgen Klopp (3) and Thomas Tuchel (1).
