Even with Bruno present and starting, we did have many embarrassing games. He isn't the main problem but he sure as shit ain't a solution either
Thank god at least one that isn't happy about a player not getting minutes and having no chance to look bad today.

Disagree, if we just had 3 or 4 more players on Bruno’s level instead of the absolute shite in our squad, we’d certainly be nearing a solution.
But we don't. So whats the point? We can just as well state that as a team we suffer from relying on him too much or having too much emphasis on bringing the best out of him. You think, todays match would have went differently than without him?

Liverpool relied too much on Salah, so?

And no, I think you could stick prime Messi in this team at 10 & things wouldn’t go differently, we’re that shite.

Agreed. So take the chance, sell Bruno to get a few coins for the Great Reset. :) It is needed, you said it yourself.

So predictable his stans would delight in this result. He wouldn't have made any difference today.

Who would?

Honestly, give me one number AM that would.
This is the wrong question, mate. We have to improve our football a lot. And a player with Brunos skillset might not be the most ideal solution anymore. Besides, he is getting older and we need to make sure, we have a successor anyways.

Stop acting as if everybody would claim, that we only have to get rid of him and will automatically get better. People want a change in football and they don't expect him to be suited to that. You might disagree but it is a different point to argue against.

I agree with other posters here that I don't think he would have made a huge difference if he was playing tonight but to the ones that criticise him relentlessly please take a long hard look at yourselves. At least Bruno cares, he gives everything and I know that should be the minimum but for a lot of our current squad it isn't.

15 goals, 11 assists in a terrible season says it all, he is the least of our worries.

Oh now you’re into strawman territory pal.

If you’re arguing we need 6-7 new players, a DoF, and new manager who demands possession football, you won’t find many disagreeing.

I personally think Bruno would thrive in that, as he does for his national team, but if he doesn’t, of course you get rid. Right now though he really is the least of our fecking problems, there’s the argument. Right now no number 10 or AM on the planet makes any significant difference to this sack of shite.

We’ll have to spend more to replace him with as good a player and with our record of signing players….
I am not so sure. He is ideal when it comes to playing Ole ball. Quick vertical chaotic. This is when his fast reactions, vision and super quick execution shine the most. He isn't the best presser (nobody does well for us but the fact that he does it on his own sometimes, indicates to me that he didn't really get the concept of an organised press) and he isn't great in tight spaces. How many of the 10ish players these days have a skillset like that? Don't you think, that has a reason?

Don't think so to be honest. You want somebody to name an AM who would improve us today. And while there probably isn't anybody, that doesn't really mean that Bruno must be the best. The only way to avoid games like that is to improve as a team. Bruno is part of the team and while he surely wouldn't be in the top 10 of players having to leave, he is one of the few that has a certain value and would create a little cash. Were shit with him as well - so there isn't really something to lose here. Only important thing is to reinvest the funds wisely. (And yes, our track record there is alarming. But still, we can't stop trying)

Nope.

But that’s a feck tonne of none Bruno related problems to solve first.

Ha ha!!! Are you kidding me? Nothing to lose by selling our better players with our track record in the market?

How fecking naive are you?
It absolutely can get worse.
Maybe I have a different time span in mind. I couldn't care less about a 4-0 loss against CP. I would say the same if it would have been a win. The season is over for us and I don't really see us challenging for anything next year. We are so far behind our competitors. At some point we have to think in 3 year spans or even 5-6 year spans. Whether Bruno is here or not, won't really matter in the grand scheme of things (my opinion) but currently he is one of only a few players we could use to generate some much needed funds.

It isn't like I wouldn't be able to see your point, I also don't deny that he might also look fine in a more possession based team. But we won't be there next year. And maybe not even the year after when he is going to be 32. And by when we will have to have thought about giving him a new contract.
Honestly, I'd go as far as getting him and Rashford out of the team to block the chance for some Moyes or Big Sam fellow to come in to "steady the ship" like Ole did with tactics from the last century. Maybe it is our turn to really suffer a blow, to feel the pain. I am pragmatic, I'd sell anybody who I don't see as part of the team in 2 years time. If it takes 7 new players, so be it. If it is only players below 22, I am fine with it as long as we seriously walk towards the goal of becoming a noteworthy team again. And I don't see any shortcuts for that.

Without him, United looks like Sheffield United.

Since he's been involved with them, Portugal haven't come close to winning anything at all. Besides, international football is completely irrelevant.
Casemiro plays well for Brazil, a lot of good that does for us.
Portugal have won a lot of football matches. One of the longest runs of consecutive wins in European football. Right up until that run ended against Slovenia. The first game Bruno didn’t play in. Funny that.

If I’m Bruno I’m trying to get a move this summer.

We are a couple windows off of being anything other than mediocre. Hes still at an age where he can win trophies.

International football is absolutely meaningless when it comes to United. Longest run in consecutive wins but still nowhere to sniffing a trophy since he's been playing for them.
Pogba used to be amazing for France, I'm sure you never cared about it.

The Pogba fanboys still butthurt over how much Bruno showed him up for the utter liability he was, I see.

Edit: Just seen this post above, you couldn't make it up :lol::lol:

None of which has anything to do with your ridiculous claim that surrounding Bruno with better players would mean the team can’t play good football. Portugal play good football. And Bruno doesn’t need to play in a team as stacked with world class players as Pogba’s French team to prove he can cut it at the highest level.

Bruno nor any other AM, haven't cut shit at the highest level for Man Utd. Like I said, he's not a problem at Man Utd but he sure as shit ain't a solution long term.
A team full of players who can't keep the ball, good luck finding an equivalent of that at any top team in Europe.
I will repeat again that using international football as evidence is completely idiotic. We have signed too many players who have performed well for their countries and not nearly the same for Utd to not get it

Read that this was the first game he's missed in his club career through injury? That is genuinely insane.

I'm willing to give Bruno a lot of leeway because 1) He never misses a game, and runs his socks off 2) Has genuinely quality that other players just don't have.

Bruno is not the problem with Portugal. Having Fernando Santos for too long was the problem. An incompetent manager like EtH.

Having an inexperienced goalkeeper in Diogo Costa who shat the bed was the problem in the WC. He will continue to be the problem since he is crap and overrated like Onana.

Ronaldo not knowing he should retire is the problem.

Having an inept, out of touch FA President was and is the problem.

Bruno Fernandes is the least of our worries. I suspect it's the same at United. Having a new, better manager and the new football structure getting new players will improve things.

I don't fundamentally disagree. He isn't one of the main problems for sure but we will eventually need to move on from him

With his age I don't disagree with that. I do think he can still be useful for one or two years. During that time United should be looking for a player to do the transition.

I think it would be suicide to sell Bruno this summer as there isn't an replacement available that is anything close to his creative level.
The ideal move is to keep Bruno one more season and go all in on Wirtz next summer.

Not really. I thought the ball moved quite well through our lines today. Noone knows how this game would have ended had it been more frantic. And with our shaken Back4, ready to make individual mistakes, the result could have been even worse. Also obviously nobody wants to replace him with Toaster-Toe-McTominay... If we'd play like today, add Rashford in decent form for Garnacho and Bruno for McTominay, I'd say we could be a quite functional team. Don't know whether it'd be a good one but certainly more functional than usually.
I kind of hoped, ETH would put Amad in the 10 space or starting with Eriksen there, who knows what would have been.

On this year's performances there's as much chance that Bruno being in the team would have meant us getting a hammering as they'd keep getting the ball back after misplaced simple passes or Hollywood balls.
