No Poll to see to check what folks think of DeZerbi as our manager now that it looks like he'll be the one?

How does it look like hel be the one?
Pure guesswork based on him abruptly leaving Brighton, reports of someone paying Brighton a compensation fee for him, him being thought of as an option at City to succeed Pep when Berrada was there, ETH being a dud, we needing a new manager, him being cryptic about where he is going next and INEOS' hush hush way of making moves....2+2 = 22. :)

OK so just guessing. Fair enough

Does it not look like a possibility to you? Why would his next destination be a secret? Do you think an Italian club will pay a compensation for a manager, even if it's one of Milan or Juve? It could be Chelsea or us, or in an off chance if Pep is leaving City after the FA cup.

PS: Last week I thought it's going to be Potter after he rejected Ajax. :wenger:

Well that certainly is interesting, if true. It’s hard to imagine the Italian clubs paying compensation for a manager with how they usually operate these days. However it is something I could see us or Bayern doing.

Would definitely be interesting to see where he actually ends up and if there’s any truth to this.

I think it's a very remote source, and hel probably be off to Italy.

It was a Napoli outlet, it could well be them saving face after failed negotiations, claiming without basis he's off elsewhere. Liverpool do the same thing, they just briefed Paul Joyce that Amorim was never first choice when it was obvious he was

I think Potter is lined up to take the England job after the Euros.... hopefully it doesn't mean Southgate to us, Pep is in his last year (next year) and is rumoured to be looking to move on (fingers crossed) I have not heard anything about Pep leaving after the FA cup though and cannot see it happening, I do not think he will leave at the end of next season either but who knows, can see him taking time out for a year, maybe taking on the Spain job? maybe Italy, Maybe USA.... one thing is for sure it is Pep not the money which is the biggest factor at City.... when he goes we need to be in a place to take advantage and get back to the top of the tree.... I would love it to be McKenna but think it will be Tuchel

I don't understand when supposedly Brighton and DeZerbi have agreed to part ways/not extend his contract, as they cannot agree on how the club should move forward.... why is anyone paying compensation?

Because he still had a contract, you can't just agree to end it and move to another club.
Would be very unlikely for Brighton to agree to that with no compo.

That might be the official line or for PR but it might be a bit of both.

De Zerbi was not 100% onboard with the strategy of Brighton but they were willing to work through it. Then, INEOS show up and Brighton halve the compensation amount as a sign of good will and acknowledgement that a split works for both sides.

This is an interesting one. Im getting the vibe Ten Hag wont be gong anywhere though.

Be interesting to see where this one leads
It has to be for a team that have not yet fired or agreed a compensation fee for a manager to depart.

Can not see it being Bayern or AC Milan as no reason for it to be so secretive?

Also can not see it being Utd…..think ETH stays.

Point was Brighton were looking to move him on anyway no need for a 3rd party to become involved, it was Brighton's choice by most accounts to ditch DeZerbi not the other way around

Candidates coming out the woodwork as we get closer to the final, I wonder why.

Think there's absolutely no chance it's Southgate now or he'd of taken Rashford for the Euros. Maybe not started him but he'd of took him if he knew he was coming here.

Poch over Ten Hag, but he's down there with Potter on the 'setting ourselves up to fail again' list.

We already know who the manager is going to be. It’s McKenna, De Zerbi or Potter to me. Ineos have been very calculated in all of their decisions. It’s been silently documented in March they like McKenna. So let’s see if he goes to Chelsea or Brighton.

Poch would be a terrible appointment.

Guessing this means Tuchel back to Chelsea. Although Mourinho would be very funny.

All of sudden many good managers available. Imagine missing on all of them and deciding to go with ETH. That will be funny.

My guess is he’s going to Chelsea.
Chelsea did not plan this. Let’s not give them credit. They’ve been stupid since they’ve taken over. They would not of kept this quiet or negotiated a good fee. Look how much their midfield cost. Says it all.

I'd 100% take Poch. Used to coaching a young squad. Chelsea played good football all season and it was their finishing that let them down but once it clicked they finished the season well.
