I think the people who think this has nothing to do with money are naive.
He could have a huge offer from Saudi but also want to stay here and want more money to stay here. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive.
He’s 30 and his next contract is his last big one.
Because with him as our main player we aren't going nowhere and if he isn't the main man in the team he would struggle to justify being in the team .

I like the thinking. We have one player who is actually good, and a bunch of others who are ok to crap. We need to improve. Let's sell the good player.
Poor guy has got a whingy face which means he gets far more grief than he deserves. Plays his heart out 95% of the time and is surrounded by lazy idiots far too often. I think he causes issues for the team but in the time he has been here he has easily been the best and most consistent performer.

Whether what he does on the pitch comes off or not, at the very least he gives his 100% til the final whistle. That for me is all I can hope from United players these days. And boy have my standards fallen.
