He's probably the best man to man defender of the last decade. 1v1 with open space to defend, I don't know if there's anyone else you'd want in that scenario.

You could argue he's one of England and Manchester City's most important players last 5 years, one of the only players in the world you can generally rely on to cancel out the likes of Mbappé and Vinicius.

Rashford has a great scoring record against them. Imagine what it would be if he had never signed for them. It feels like Rashford gets clear in behind them at least twice per derby only to get caught by Walker.

To be fair, we sort of did play out most direct wide threat against Gvardiol and he, very helpfully and kindly, rewarded his pressure with a free goal.What's all the more curious is why the opposition doesn't play their fastest wide player on the other side against Gvardiol instead of Walker.

It’ll be Frimpong and Wirtz, they’ll have identified replacements already, City don’t wait until the last minute like us to figure out how to replace players. Has had a mixed season, and at his worst can be brainless, but at his best has shut down the best wingers in the world on that flank who bring more than pure pace to the table, while also being functional in City's attack.
