Oh yeah. The game tracks losses, so next update I'll add another category for most men and ships lost. Armies take attrition when sieging provinces, and some of them take a while.

@Walrus very bravely attacking @Wing Attack Plan R (or rather his little ally), who just defeated @hobbers in a war (hobbers didn't lose any provinces, but an ally did). Granted Walrus has the better technology, and Wing is currently conquering Yemen, so... maybe?
