After we feck up this January by signing no one of note we'll have another couple of years to try and get in the top 4 or he'll probably look at moving on. He's absolutely the future of this club.

'Januzaj is Uniteds best bet here' is a real common occurrence now in United games.

Shame he didn't score (apart from the disallowed one). Close a couple of times and had plenty of attempts. I prefer him centrally rather than out wide. Also some nice delicate through balls near the end of the match. Our best player by a mile.

Our only player in the front 6 who showed any bit of desire or bollocks today apart from Giggs. Everyone else was awful. Thank feck we have him breaking through this season, there would be nothing else at all to be happy about this season.

Silver lining. Our best player at the moment. Not just tonight. Overall.

We need to play him in the front 2 more often. I don't give a feck if that upsets Rooney or Van Persie.

The kid is a superstar and the best player at the club right now. He's fecking just turned 18. He is the only one who can hold his head up there and say he did all he could.

Almost feel sorry for him that he signed that contract before he realised how bad the team would be this season. He's too good for us based on our performances this season.

Yup, brilliant performance. Annoying and unlucky that his shots crept wide every time.

Moyes has got to change it up and look to get the best out of him. With hardly any options today he was still making things happen, get players who will come off the wings and link up with him/ run in to the box and get width from the full backs. We've relieved on young players before, Ronaldo, Rooney but feel he's having to pick up a lot of slack atm. Undoubtedly gonna be a star.

We have a real player on our hands here. Easily in our strongest XI.

Us being so shit this season will hold him in good stead for the future, really has to take the initiative and is getting loads of game time which is good for his development.

I'm proud of the way he's performing this season. You rarely see such young players come into a supposedly top team and make the experienced pros look like imposters. There'd be a lot less optimism without him.

He must continue to work hard at all aspects of his game because the ability is there for him to contribute goals/assists galore. He looks like that kind of player.

My only worry is that he doesn't get burnt out by playing too much. He's still only 18 years old, and is one of the only ones on the pitch giving their all, running all over the pitch to try and make things happen. Its not like certain players who jog around most of the game so have no problems playing a few games a week, he genuinely gives 100% and these last few weeks was visibly tiring.

He's been a major breath of fresh air this season. He always looks to create when he has the ball and has been probably the most exciting thing about this season. He's playing so far above just about everyone else in the team. Question for you all. Do you think he is more talented than everyone else we put out there or is he just a lot hungrier to play and do well?

I said this in thread yonder
Okay, I think I have actually worked it out. I've completely solved our problem.

We stop using Januzaj. Not to use him at all. Completely cold turkey. We have 10 scared players every game and they are all waiting for Januzaj to get them out of the hole they are in. 10 scared players and one 18 year old who actually takes players on, makes runs and shoots from distance. Well the other 10 players need to grow the feck up.

He's 18. He cant save our season, and they shouldn't be expecting him too. At most he should be coming on for half an hour each game, when we are already winning (so he'd be getting no minutes at the moment then.) Keane wouldn't let this happen. Robson wouldn't let this happen.

Let us play with 11 scared players, and hopefully they'll learn that a young kid isn't going to save them. Play ridiculously shite and defensively if we need to, but live and die together as brothers.
And I think there is some truth to it. Him being our best player by a country mile week in week out (especially as we're losing) is - to use a terrible term - a disgrace

It truly is a disgrace. We look to him to be the spark that will carry us through. An 18 year old. FFS

I look forward to see him linking up with Reus and Barkley next season!

Seriously though he has been excellent this season, he's lifted the team at times which shouldn't really be his responsibility, he looks unflappable in the face of players trying to rough him up, he's two footed, can dribble and shoot, has an eye for a pass and conformable all cross the front line bar as a #9. Just a pleasure to watch him develop.

Ridiculous that this rookie 18 year old is head and shoulders above everyone else at the minute. Pretty much every single player in that squad should be fecking ashamed of themselves.

Another good performance. He didn't deserve to be on the losing side. Desperately unlucky not to have a goal. He was certainly our biggest threat. Love the way he turns on his defender to get his shots off. His head never goes down. The way he plays should lift the other players. I'd love to see him and Zaha on the flanks. They'd really peg opposition fullbacks back. Rather than playing wingers because they track back well, how about we play them because they attack well.

 and to think in the summer it was laughable to suggest he'd get even more than ten appearances this season.

What a star this kid is. We need to start playing him through the middle more when we can.

Our next great team needs to be built around him.

Best thing Moyes has done this season is getting him to sign a contract. I'm not sure what would be going through Januzaj's mind right now if he didn't.

In fairness those who laughed at the idea of him getting 10 appearances were probably suffering from 'he's going to be a star!!" fatigue we get every year with the youth team without anyone noticing that literally decades have now passed with that not really being the case other than very few exceptions. He looks to be that exception though. Genuine quality that puts some to shame.

It isn't that we should always be expecting a Januzaj level quality talent but I think his arrival on the scene has been refreshing in many senses including that it shows how low expectations have dropped for young players over the years. If Januzaj hadn't come through we were close to a situation where anyone under the age of 25 being able to tie a shoelace would be deemed worthy of great adulation.

@plugsy I've never personally seen anyone of his quality from the youth team, he was on a whole other planet and it's refreshing that he's brought it through to the first team.

But yeah, there's no one else in the youth team that is on his level of phenomenalness so don't expect that caliber anytime soon where they come in to perform to such a high standard that puts the rest to shame.

Which is why we need to make him the focal point of our attack, unfortunately he has a certain Mr Wayne Rooney in his place so it's only natural that he has to play in other positions to accomodate him.

But he will be the player our next great team is built around because he's way too good to be wasted on the wing when he can influence the game a hell of a lot more. Basically, our attacks should be going through him the way they go through Rooney. But luckily as he's only 18, he had plenty of time on his side for this to happen.

Yeah, I'll hold my hand up and was convinced he should have been loaned out because he's not going to see much action. Glad I was terribly wrong :D

Imagine how much we'd hate our season if we didn't have him as our shining light.

Yeah absolutely.

There'd be even more doom and gloom. At least we have more hope in our youngsters coming through now as well - especially since that hope vanished after the Ravel/Pogba situations.
I know right, it was hard losing them 2, Adnan has made us all believe in the youth system once more.
