André Onana (Out)

Ben Jacobs knows as much about what's happening behind the scenes at football clubs as I know about molecular physics.
I understand that denial is a coping mechanism. I’ve been there. He’ll be our starting GK next season.

Onana, not Jacobs.

I always sort of assume transfers won't happen, just a pessimist in that way. But I genuinely don't think Onana will start for us next year.

I wouldn't be shocked if he was still on our books because of how PSR works but even if he is I can picture us signing some 32 year old keeper for a low fee.

No sympathy at all if he’s unhappy about not being in the champions league and a wage cut. His performances are a large contributing factor

It'll be good times if he never plays for us again.

If we need to make a loss on his 'book value' then so be it.

More than any other XI player, I would like him to leave the most. Genuinely one of the worst keepers I have seen at the club. The fact we paid £50mil, is just mind boggling.

The CL salary cut narrative doesn't make any sense considering we weren't in the CL this season either
3rd year of his deal, though. You always get a bit of security when signing for a big club, and he was probably expecting us to be in Europe in some form with the money we used to chuck around. These clauses probably kick in after the second season. And he was in a CL final when we signed him, so he had a bit of leverage.

Should have based his entire salary around clean sheets. He'd be bankrupt by now.

Unhappy? well that's a bit rich coming from a keeper who tried his best to sabotage our CL hope for two seasons in a row. And that is without counting the amount of points we lost in the league.

To paraphrase Jim from The Office, ‘Complaining about a wage drop due to not being in the CL, when you yourself probably did more to ensure that happened than anyone else, is a bold move. Is bold the right word?’

Taking a loss on the books and just getting him out of the club is a win win in my book.

We should get rid of him, he is simply not good enough.

We need a quality GK, someone who can save shots, command his area and also able to distribute the ball.
